  1. Great up top but it needs floors both sides. I went to school in upstate NY and well, the winters weren't kind. I'll probably do one but in this thread
  2. Oh boy I wouldn't even know where to start. It was my first vehicle and the amount of stuff I've done to it over the years is nuts. I've probably gone through about 3 suspension set ups alone.
  3. Thank you. But now the mystery continues cause that fuse is good. Time to start tracing wires
  4. Thanks! It's definitely a little more flashy than the Comanche
  5. Got a passenger lighted mirror on the sun visor from an 86 for my 88. Got the harness and plugged it all up. Fit the connector by the glove box in my 88 perfectly but I'm not getting any power to it. Does anyone know where the power comes from? Or if it uses a separate fuse. Couldn't find anything on the fuse box
  6. My 2.5 ran a solid 60 psi with 200,000+ on it so it's plausible I guess. Idk how accurate my gauge was but it didn't make any noise
  7. 1986 long bed. 2.8 5 speed. AMC 20 rear. Currently being parted out due to rust. I was told it was a plow vehicle all its life in NJ
  8. 13.75 I believe. And oh yeah way better. A little weird at first but way better for turning. No longer feel like I'm turning my tow truck.
  9. Wheel installed! Factory cover fits too. Just no working horn for now. Amazing how tiny it feels compared to the factory one but I love it. Took it for a drive and feel way more comfortable cornering harder. Only issue is that it obstructs the top of the speedometer and gas gauge but only if I'm leaning forward, but the holley dash is in full view now.
  10. I definitely spent way too much on this but it is hands down the nicest steering wheel I've ever held. Adapter should be here tomorrow. I'm definitely gonna have to wear white gloves driving this thing now
  11. Perfectly fine. When the lights are on you can see the tiniest amount of light come through the edges because the bezel is ever so slightly smaller long ways, but the sides where the clips are, are the right size so it clips in and stays. I like this way better too than using the huge bezel.
  12. Got the eurotec lights installed. Pretty amazing how similar they are to factory. Just gotta put some blade terminal on the wires. They clip right in. I might paint the trim tan to match but they honestly look good as is.
  13. Really really well actually. Been driving it every day and other than a small oil leak all is good. Definitely want some new wheels soon though
  14. Got the hood vents in! Not bad for some eBay ones. They ship flat so you can use them as a template, then bend them once installed. Also cleaned and painted the underside of the hood

    Oil question

I researched oils for a long time when I first got my Cherokee. After running pretty much all the big brands, I switched over to the shell rotella. There is a ton of people running the t6 synthetic in everything. From jeeps to Subarus to muscle cars. It's one of the very last oils that actually has zddp or zinc in it and that's great for the flat tappet cams in the 4.0. Most all oils got rid of zinc because it messes with cats. You can still buy a bottle of the stuff to mix in but rotella also has a ton of detergents and it also can withstand high heat. It's also coming out in a lot of different weights now. I used to run 15w40 regular in my Cherokee but once I fixed all the oil leaks I switched to 5w40 full synthetic and I also run that in my LS Comanche. They also make it easier being it has one conventional, one blend, and one synthetic
  16. I have a pretty good set of Cherokee non 2door wing seats in grey. Looking for an almond or honey set to trade for mine. Located in NJ but PA and NY are fair game. Driver side has a small rip in the leather area. But that's it for damage. Foam and padding is still good.
  17. Rebuilt the new to me tan column. Wasn't too bad just so many little pieces in that thing. Also got the new steering box in at the same time. What a difference. Don't feel like I'm driving it like in the old movies where they are just steering back and forth going straight. Also got the interior "done". Still need new seats and a new steering wheel but the dash and panels are all done. Painted the lower dash piece and arm rests with SEM. That stuff works great.
  18. See that's the hardest part of the whole thing. Trying not to mash the throttle every take off or tunnel lol I will say after driving this thing and going back to my Cherokee, that thing definitely needs a V8 too
  19. First one. The Cherokee specific one seemed like it could work but that bracket on the retractor worried me so I went for universal. There are a lot of different styles but that's the one that worked for me. And just enlarging the one hole. No b pillar trimming required at all.
  20. So the universal 3 point style from seatbelt plus is a pretty much a drop in replacement. Only thing I had to do was enlarge the hole on the retractor. Everything else bolted right in and it fit behind the b pillar perfectly. They also look exactly like the OEM belts. Buckles and all.
  21. Got some new adjustable mirrors because the 86 I got had the trim piece. Also got my new seat belts. Other than the color being off they seem super nice. Looks like it should work. I'll find out tomorrow when I'm swapping everything in. Also got my new red head steering box. Got one in my Cherokee and it's super nice. I might put that in tomorrow too with the tan column.
  22. Nice. I have a new posi carrier and thought about 3.73 but that would be a little high in the rpm on the highways after seeing what 3.55 does
  23. Yeah it's definitely better than my Cherokee for sure. And that's average is 13mpg based on the overhead unit. And it's a 3.55 rear. 3000 rpm at 75.
