If I lived down under I'd totally drive the holden And you forgot the subaru brat!
-
Possibly. Depends on your level of ingenuity. Eh. Who cares? Its just the passenger seat. :rotf:
-
No welder. I can tig and mig dang near anything, but no place to do it. Apartment life sucks. I don't know anyone with one either :fs1:

Ok, so I did a little tinkering with the new seats, and the passenger side seat does have a slider. The way the frames are set up on theses seats, I'm gonna have to switch them around to clear the trans tunnel (put drivers frame on passenger seat, and vice versa) so that leaves the driver seat with a slider, and maybe tilt if I can figure it out. Any way I can use the bench rails to make a sliding rail for the pass? Sorry for being a PITA pete, just scratchin me head
-
No, sorry for the confusion pete. The new buckets don't have sliders, as they were probably 3rd row seats out of something. My bench slides fine. You're saying I should be able to use the slider from my bench?

The biggest cause of road noise in our rigs is shot weatherstripping. If you wanna make that sucker sound proof this is the best place to start. Then bedline your floor, use the peel and seal, then put your carpet back down I've yet to tear the door panel off yet, but when I do start the sound deadening on mine, I'm going to try to place some peel and seal in the inside of my doorskin, much like you see on newer vehicles Also, depending on what your jeep has for the rear cab (behind the seats) you may want to go so far as to peel and seal that too

You're looking at a lot of work. I say part it. And sell me the console and buckets. :brows: But seriously. If you part it, I call dibs on both of those. I have blue interior

Not to poop in your cheerios here, but why are you going with duals? Just looks? :hmm:

 The terms and conditions of joining CC said "anyone who owns a TD comanche must share it with the rest of the club" Really. Its in there, its just in really small font

Isn't there only one bracket per side tho? Since I have a bench? I just took a look at the bottom of these seats...no sliders  I guess this may have been a crappy idea after all. Any ideas on making the mj sliders work?
-
Some of you may have seen the set of buckets I snagged off the curb. I have no idea what they are off of, other than knowing they were probably 3rd row seats, because the brackets are the clip style that can be removed. I do plan to use these, regardless of what fabbing I have to do. They're comfy, look good and they were free. I know there's a pic out there that shows the different seat brackets, but I need a little more specific a picture. I need to know where the factory buckets would mount, whether or not I can just pop a few holes in the floor, and support my brackets from underneath like a rollbar would, and what would be the best approach to make this work. CW? Anybody? Oh yeah I currently have a hideous blue bench, so using existing brackets is kinda a no-go. Will post pics when I get off work at 4am :ack:

Yeah, probably :dunce:

Mine has the big doofy chrome flag mirrors too. I thought they were an aftermarket deal. Anyway, they are HIDEOUS, but I'm stuck with them, cuz even if I do put some 97 xj mirrors on, I'll have 3 big bolt holes in my door. Heeeelllooo rust. *sigh* guess I'll just hold out till I can replace my doors with 97+ ones someday In the meantime, the passenger one still isn't pointed right. I've owned this thing since jan. And still can't get it where I want it :fs1:

Looks good don! I thought you were looking for a full width rack, but that looks good regardless -

IIRC they didn't start using the 8.1 until 99 when they redesigned their pickups.

Sorry no updates lately. Its mountain biking season here, and most of my spare change has gone into my 5 bikes. Including the new Trek :D as well as a bike I'm in the process of building into a "Jeep Bike" However i did score some goodies in our city-wide cleanup last weekend. Image Not Found not sure what they're out of, but with a little fabrication, my MJ can become a little less grandpa-ish Also scored a set of nerfbars destined to replace my 2x4 bumper, and a potential basket for the cargo top. My weekends are officially gone. OH and I got a set of the illegal lawn darts!!! :clapping: -
don't worry I gotcha Use a waterbased stripper, and ONLY LEAVE IT ON TILL THE PAINT STARTS PEELING OFF. Should be able to get this one at NAPA Image Not Found Then rinse, wash with soapy water and rinse again. Wash with alcohol, then sand with either 800 grit dry, or 600 wet. Personally i prefer to wetsand all plastics Wash with soapy water, rinse, alcohol it again, and hit it with a tack rag then but some fusion. And make sure to use 3 coats, getting gradually heavier each coat. your first coat, you just wanna dust coat the suckers. (basically just telling those flares, that eventually they will be another color :P ) I did this same procedure on my yota and it held up until the day I sold it

Not a bad plan. If the alignment shop is worth a poop, they'll tell ya what's wrong.
