....Experienced death wobble for the first time. :headpop: Link?
-
And you didn't grab the taillights?
-
Changed the oil for the first time. And seafoamed it while I was at it. Easiest oil change I've ever done. Too bad my filter wrench was too big, but hey, that's what vice grips are for sir!

Hahahahaha Jim, you make it sound like there is only two cities in SD. Yes, we DO have running water and electricity here.
-
Gee pete, its only 23 years old, how could it go bad? :rotf: Might not be a bad time to swap in a Cherokee cluster eh?
-
Ok, So I've read everywhere, including my owners manual that there was only a 16 and 23 gallon gas tank size available in 87. With the 23 gallon being more common in the longbed. here's where things get weird. Mine is full at just shy of 12. Is it possible that I have a 16 gallon with 4 Gallons of crap in the tank, or is there a 12 gallon option out there? I'm a confused little greaseball here fellas.

Removed then installed gas tank, now won't start

I know of 3 near me. A sportruck, a 2wd and a beat up shortbox. Mine is the best looking out of all of them. That really isn't saying much, considering mine has more cancer than kieth richards' body

Major loss man, but I'm willing to bet you'll carry a fire extinguisher from now on. Almost lost my Pathfinder to an electrcal fire one day. Sent my buddy into the house, while I threw the hood open and ripped the positive cable off the batt. after that I bolted an extinguisher to the b pillar

I have a bable head bulldog on my dash.... :rotf: :rotf: JK man, you're in the right place. Listen up and the guys here will help ya. I can't, I'm just the paint/body guru round these parts

Oooook now that I started a huge controversy, let me back it up a bit and reword my original statement. I merely meant that the last XJ rolling out was the end of AMC/Jeep's engineering, and every jeep afterwards was dealt with the chrylser touch. IMHO jeeps don't have that rugged, versatile feel since the end of the XJ. Sorry to beat a dead horse.

Pete, methinks you need to buy a Saturn :rotf: Also, screw flickr, use photobucket

I LOVE your rear bumper

Dang, I really need to finish my topper. Ive only been looking at it on the backburner since march,
-
I never noticed you have the elephant towing mirrors on your MJ. Ive got them too, been debating on taking them off, but some days I like them, some days I hate them Yours is persuading me to keep them :hmm:

Let's have a moment of silence for the end of the legacy that was once called "Jeep" This was the end of the true Jeeps, and the beginning of the Chryjeep. :fool:

:agree: The glovebox in our rigs is no safe place anywho. All it takes is one good jerk and it will either pop open or break. No sense in locking it
-
On a similar note, what year XJ ignition switch/lock cylinders do we need to steal from to do the single key mod? I'm sooooo tired of carrying two keys. I guess I was spoiled with my nissans and yotas

Why swap one crappy ba10 for another Crappy ba10? Doesn't matter if its fresh off the AMC shelf, its a crappy trans. You already have a roadworthy XJ, have patience and that AX-15 will show up  Other than that, nice rig, and nice floors. Some of us aren't so lucky.... I hate rust too
-
Hmmm that O2 sensor needs replaced I'm sure. Better call the dealership lol
-
Nice. I think I'll stop out at the dealership this weekend after he finds out what the recalls were....just to be a PITA :rotf:
-
Hahaha I do? What for? Do ya think the stealership would still honor them? :brows:

This one's mine It was originally Midnight Blue with blue bench seat/column shifter interior. The PO painted it a single stage Black before I bought it. Its a 4.0, AW4, LWB, command-trac model. I honestly don't know the Trim Level, cuz its been debadged. The pickup was originally sold in Sioux Falls, SD to a couple in Brookings, SD, where its been its whole life. Its still there today :D They traded in an 86 mazda pickup for it, I have the original papers, owners manual, and service records somewhere. I'm either the 3rd or 4th owner of this little Turd You want pics? Click my sig -Travis

Got it all back together, tested the voltage before starting it read 12.5 (fresh off the charger, so a little high, but no biggies) I started up the MJ and it read 14.2, so again a little high, but that definitely means its charging. Woohooo! Fresh cables and fixed a few connections, replaced the belt while I was at it. Thanks guys!
