Best method to clean upholstery.
MJ is dead replied to MCF90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't know what you plan to do about your headliner, but as our headliners are all a little touchy, I'd try your best to clean it dry. Use a brush or something, but if you have to use a cleaner, use a foaming one, and DAB the fabric, don't rub, and don't hose it on. It really doesn't take much to knock our headliners loose. Hell if it were my truck I probably wouldn't even touch the headliner, but mines in perfect shape :D -
BACK ON TOPIC: I wrote her offering to drive an hour, remove my own parts and pay her for them (break booster, seats and center console for sure) she wrote me back a blank message...no biggy, it happens. Wrote her again to let her know her message was blank. That was a week ago. No word back.

Stripped all the sheetmetal off my topper, painted it black and started planning the bracing for my canvas topper with integrated roof rack Will make a thread soon

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the chip guards. Sure the ones you can but at NAPA and Autozone are junk. But some of the 3m and SEM ones are bulletproof. Trust me, I've been relacing factory chipguards with them for a few years now at the shop. As far as what I'm "going for" I wasn't actually planning on using the stone look stuff as a chip guard. Just as like an accent deal. There is no rattle can out there that's gonna be worth a crap when it comes to abrasion resistance. I'm a professional autobody painter, so I know the ins and outs of that realm. It was merely an idea to use as trim on a jeep.

No, I knew that, but a lot of companies make a clear chip guard that can be texturized and painted over. That was my plan

While I was at wallypants yesterday, I noticed rustoleum makes a "stone look" rattlecan. It got me thinking I know a lot of people bedline the bottom 8 inches or so of their rigs for chip resistance, as well as a cool look. What about this stuff? I think it would be a really neat idea, especially for those of us who have trail jeeps. Oh and if anyone does this before me, you owe me a royalty of $3 per can of paint :rotfl2: Trav

Painting the underside after blasting
MJ is dead replied to comanche 88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So far....you're all right. I would do as eagle says and por 15 it, then paint it But....I would also spray undercoating over the top of that paint, at least in certain areas. It will cut down on road noise as well as give you a little abrasion resistance in easily worn or scraped areas -
Wait.....silverado flares?

Wait...how in the @#*% did a golf ball hit your tail light??

I've thought about buying the carr one from quadratec, but this weekend I'm gonna start on a little project of my own...I have an old aluminum topper that I'm gonna use the framework from to make a canvas topper with roll up sides and an integrated roof rack. Might do a lightbar up there too

When I was 18, there was a 90 mj parked outside of the 4x4 shop we were trying to buy (we were trying to buy the shop, not the MJ) and I kinda checked it out. Told my brother to go on ahead, wanted to look at the Comanche (which was for sale) It was lifted, sitting on 35" trxus STS's painted black with white XJ prerunner fenders on the front and had an ARB front bumper on it. It had started life as a 2wd 2.5. And had been converted to a 4.0 4x4. Needless to say I went to the bank that day and got turned down cuz I was just a dumb kid, but that MJ was always in the back of my mind. Two months ago I sold my lifted 01 tacoma, strictly because I was tired of making payments. (I miss the hell out of that truck) but...I needed another DD, and wanted a truck or SUV, mostly cuz my ice fishing gear has problems fitting in anything else. :D Found a black one sitting just up the road from me, paid a little too much at $1000, but maybe someday I'll have that MJ of my youth. Its already the right color! :D

A few years ago I saw a black mj that had replaced his vents with diamond plate, looked...ok... -
I dunno about a stock one, but carr sells one. :brows:

Probably exactly what mine looked like from the factory. Minus the metric ton badge of course

so still try for axles huh? maybe i should offer her like $300 for the whole jeep :D
-
Found a lady stripping out her 94 cherokee. Anything I should snag? I'm definitely gonna take the console and seats, depending on what color they are. Anythings better than the baby blue I have now Its a 4door 2.5 auto, not sure on axles yet, Will the brake booster work?

Wasn't this in a magazine at one point? :dunno:

My mj came with a set of stock steelies and a set of turbines. I'm gonna paint the faces of the turbines black and use them! Turbines FTW
