So a little clarification: the next time I have to replace the windshield on my 87, I should get a 95 and up rubber gasket and cut the nubs off the inside of the window frame, INSTEAD of using the older style poly eurothane/ butyl sealer???

I hear you bluexj, But what shop would pass up on building 1 set of sliders if a person walked in off the street. the shop already has the jig and knows how to build them, even for a premuim price. I know the more you make in a batch the cheaper the individual product is (usaully).

anyone want to build me a set of long bed sliders like JCR, since I can't buy a set from them anymore. I don't have the skills to weld. or a welder for that matter. I sent an E-mail to brian stating that I would buy set even if it cost more than original price, he said "no" So anytakers, a good quality set at a resonable price????? guess you don't realize what you got until its gone
-
brimy311, sad but understandable, However its not like you are gonna throw out the jigs or forget how to make them right. So could they be special ordered?? I understand making a special order would get in the way of your other productions, I would assume the mark-up would be a little higher, and maybe whenever you guys have a slowdown in other productions you could put out an ad saying a limited run will be made must pre order with money down. just an idea. would it still be feasible to get a set of sliders at all even if they cost more????

kodiak, AK to alameda CA. your a coastie, for sure. welcome to the board. I am running with 6.5 rock krawler springs plus a 2 inch spacer. in the rear its a SAO with 2 inch longer shackles. 8.5 inches total with 35's= to much now that I have driven it for a while. yes a tall truck looks good, but the higher you go the more problems you have to deal with. ie drive shafts, steering angles, caster angles, general alignment issues. I am dropping mine at least 1 maybe 1.5 inches and doing cut out flares.

Does anyone know how hard it is to replace the stock mj shackle bushings, what would be better rubber or poly? stock Mj are fine with me, I am doing this on a budget, like who isn't right

USCG has its long days too, no ruck sacks involved though. Can you send me a pic just to verify there condition, and let me know when you are free i will send a couple of bucks to you

For those that read this before I found a nice seat that fits my needs. maroon, good shape, head rests. however it is to much of a hassle to send an entire seat. Is there anyone that has a bench seat with headrests in good shape that is a diffrent color and that is close to South Carolina? or has an easy way of shipping Allen

street tire, I like the coopers or even the toyo's I have been very happy with my toyo a/t's. however I would recommend anytire that has the severe weather rating (the little triple peak mountain) if there is a chance of snow.

I got my mj running last week, found a ground strap had rubbed/melted thru the CPS wire. so wednesday went to the dmv to get renew the plate tabs. so turkey day I needed to run to walmart for a few last minute things for dinner, decided to take the boy and go for a ride in the truck. get into the truck to leave walmart and it doesn't start. had wife come pick us up after 20 minutes of banging on the starter, checking battery connections and doing the old screwdriver starter jump which didn't work. no auto parts stores open on turkey day. so first thing on black friday I am laying on my back chaging a starter in the walmart parking lot. fun fun

best place to get replacement carpet and headliner
87mjdriver replied to azscott's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ACC carpets. mine was 124$ and it fit great, what an improvement changing the carpet makes. go for it. -
I am thinking about taking out the load proportioner(sp) and replacing it with a t fitting for right now, With full braking power going to the rear and riding on 35's I would think the chances or rear wheel lock up would be very minimal. any one agree??? 90% of the time it is an empty truck bed.
