  1. I thought it might look cool, Figured most ya would lose is the little round deals between the grill and head lights. But seeing the Major scale differences, You'd have to cut a rhino down or build/have built one to scale. I want that "AMC Jeep" grill badage .... Mike
  2. Could the FSJ grill be scaled down and retro fitted into the XJ/MJ front ends ? Kind of like a Mini Gladiator ? or Junior Wagoneer ? Mike
  3. Still waiting on them CARDS !, but i did start feeling really good no pain quit taking the pain meds felt great for 3day's . . . I unloaded a truck load of hay and now my left side is doing what the right did which of course now the right side is sore but bad but a dull pain . . . Mike
  4. :rotf: :rotfl2:  well now :dunce: for me then :rotfl2: :rotf:  Well anywho kind words none the less  I got a bit of health issue myself, and with the season rapping up at work this project has gone as far as it'll get until spring time . . . you can get filled on that in my "projects hold man down" thread . . . Mike

  7. AMC-390: :D 490N-hp@6,000rpm & 492N-tq@4,500rpm Using NOS AMC parts just as this was built originally   Now sure i could have gotten way more power for less money using parts from Jeg's, Summit, and PAW :smart:  AMC-god ? . . . i just Listen to my fellow AMCer's who have been building AMC I-4's, I-6's, and V-8's for several decades, Between there Knowledge and my elbow grease I have a powerful, durable, High quality AMC-390 ;) Like i said if going fast was the goal, i would have used another combo most likely a 390/T10, But i have confidence my fellow AMCer's say i can get 215-235hp & 240-260tq from my little 290 i am appt believe them  So  290 / AX-15 / AMC-20 x 4.10s / 235/75r15's is what the plan is and shall remain . . . engine is bought and home already  Mike
  8. Well if its a Hernia it hasn't been fixed as of yet, If it was a stretch / pull / tare then it should be well on the road to healing up by now ? its been 7-9days since the symptoms first showed up . . . Being that i was paying out of pocket, rater paying with plastic and NOT an insurance card i ain't so sure i got a worth much help . . . I basically got told Rest, med's, light duty activity, and give it more time . . . I could have figured that out myself, not paid a $175 & $358 Medical bill's in both of which i got told Rest & light activity  :dunno: They did seem to investigate it really :dunno: I got felt up and sent on my way :hmm: dose this hurt ? dose this hurt . . . every inch from my hip to my man part's :hmm: But they didn't do any exploration of the man parts :dunno: :wall: First visit i got told give it 3 or 4 more days second visit got told give another week :ack: :smart: I'm just going to deal with it till i get my Insurance Coverage and see if the state of urgency is any different  Mike
  9. AM-General is still Banking good Income, so far this year 3 US-Army contract's. 1 for 100 units at $182,000 a unit, 1 for 53 units at $181,00 a unit, and the 3rd was 2526 units for $245,000 a unit  Way to go  AMC Yes i still consider it a product of AMC because AMC created AM-G, So one of there creations it a live and well still, they also started i joint venture with GTV and just delivered a few New prototype units to Uncle Sam for Army testing  Bord but not Dead yet, Mikey
  10. I been going to work everyday, I have just been on light duty. But me being a guy "light duty" makes ya feel like a sissy at times, So you pull an alphamale move every now n then and lift push pull carry some thing you got no business doin . . . So last Friday I lifted boulders I shouldn't and today I did some shoveling I shouldn't . . . I guess I don't follow the rules the greatest. So I may be in for a rough weekend lol But I aint dead yet, far as I know nothing should be fatal ? Not that I am making fun of my situation, but if I don't push it once a week how will I know if I'm healing ? Mike
  11. Well waiting on my insurance cards, but I figured I would check in and let you know I was still alive. So after running myself a good but harder then should have today. I'm not dead yet anyway maybe tomorrow lol Mike
  12. You asked why I chose my combo, I answered why I chose my combo. You made a transmission suggestion, I wasn't interested in it. If you felt the combo should have been done differently ya should have spoke up sooner when opinions were being asked. I feel its a bit unpleasant to get told to do some thing else after the plan had been formulated and parts ordered. You got your own MJ I see so if you wanna do an AMC-360 / Ford T5 combo I say jump on it. Mike
  13. thanks  Mike
  14. Yup well here is the thing 1 the 290 will burn less gas then a 360 regardless of it being the same block. 2 the 290 will rev up quicker then the 360 IE: the 290 will get from 1,500rpm to 4,500rpm faster then the 360 will. 3 anything you can put on a 360 will work on any AMC V8 period. If I wanted to make the 290 a 12.5:1 compression 9,000rpm drag race engine all the parts are readily available. Apparently you missed the point of this build ? It seems so, I shall clue you in I wanted it to tow like truck and play like car yet be derivable so I can continue to drive it everyday a nice well round light duty Rig tow ATV or Mower yet be peppy from 0-75mph not burn a bunch of gas and be stable and reliable yet unique sounds perfect for an: AMC-290 V8  AX-15 5spd  AMC-20/w 4.10s  Combo  AMC 290 / AX15 / AMC-20 means just that anything else NOT Interested . . . If i wanted it for going Fast i would used an AMC-390 / T-10 Combo  Yes i know about the 4.0L this was the same amount of work and it cost the same ;) I have other Rig's for going fast and towing heavy things see Sig  Mike
  15. My boss is trying to push my insurance theough, he said he may have to back date it as I left over the winter n worked for another place rather 2 places till I could get back in with him this summer. Currently I'm maxing myself out financially as it is. So far this round my doctor visits went on the credit cards . . . Mike
  16. Well i'm feeling better not nearly as sore as i once was, I guess i'll keep doing as they told me and see what they think Mon/Tues this week :ack: With me waiting 3 day's which i clearly told them, then they wanted to wait another 3 or 4 days i'm sure if it is herniated the ball is dead  They didn't seem concerned enough to move any faster :hmm: Mike
  17. :fs1: Don't let it rip your insides up :wall: . . . :rotf: . . . Work related injury i think but i can't be sure :hmm: Mike
  18. Checking in nothing new all is as it was nothing's gotten worse, other then my opinion on Urgent care/ER doctors . . . here what it looks and sounds like, take these and call me another day  thats what i feel like happened, But then again if the go and cut ya open and find that it was something that would have worked itself out in a few days if left alone i guess i can understand this as well . . . But they gotta know that not knowing is driving me NUTS :ack: Mike
  19. I bet it dose, But since last November my whole World has revolved around the MJ I need him more then it'll ever know . . . That truck has taken the place of my K2500  took every challenge and walked right through it :rotfl2: that truck fail's i'm done for it knows that much or so it seems . . . Cesarean ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :dunno: :waving: Running away now....... :rotfl2: :rotf: :ack: :rotfl2: :rotf: The Hernia itself ain't my biggest worry its the location where every thing came apart / let go that concerns me . . . to sugar coat what the DR said, i may have 3items inside a 2 item purse  :ack: :hmm: :fs1: sure explains alot - Will do will do . . . that's the plan i ain't dead yet . . . :hmm: whew i did i muti quote posted yay me  Mike
  20. I'm going through a bit of a health Crisis at the moment, So i have put everything on hold until it is sorted out . . . Would we "thought" was just a sore muscle progressed into what was thought to be a pulled groin, which has now evolved into a Herniated groin . . . The deeper they dig the worse things seem to be I keep ya updated, i'm praying this don't turn into the Nasty C word Mike
  21. Well it was enough weight to sag the truck 3-4 inches. Also the engine was a bit loose so it could rock back n forth when it did so the truck had the sloshing effect. When I noticed what felt like the floor flexing I was rolling slow over some uneven terrain. Now be all of that as it may the frame has been checked 5 times for cracking and rot, Once when I bought it, a second time when I got the new exhaust out on, and 3 times during transporting that engine. Mike
  22. Coolness . . . I'll just let it ride then . . . Mike
  23. I'm sure 3.73s or 3.55s would do ok, but I spent a good portion of my road time in the 25-45mph range and with 4.10s and the AX15 with 235s ill be running 1500-1700rpm which should get me plenty of MPGs not that I was really all that worried about mileage. 1500-1700rpm will be the bottom end of the power curve anyhow, peak torque will be about 3200-3500rpm and peak horse power will be about 4500-4700rpm. So I can't lug it down to far . . . Mike
  24. My MJ currently don't have any shocks and the rest of the suspenion is 22 years old n rusted. My Comanche is all done about 75mph due to lack of OD. Now after this repower, I'm sure its going to be nose heavy regardless of the fuel tank in the bed n heavy duty rear bumper. Mike
  25. Red MJ ? Never seen such a thingzl do post photos ! Mike
