so from what i'm seeing its a gm based system, wonder if a scan tool would tell you any data? the timing sounds correct. I'm still leaning towards a leaking injector might not be a bad leak, can you look in the throttle body and see what the spray patterns like when its at idle? Does this motor have adjustable rockers? I'm not knowledgeable about these older fords, but i know Ford did use them at one time.

whats the base timing set at? could it be a leaking injector, would explain why it runs great when in the throttle but when sitting at idle for a while the fuel build up? does this thing have a air fuel ratio or any kind of data?

Usual the driveshaft gets bent when they pick up the vehicle.

Which way are you counting the cylinders for your firing order, Ford is different than gm and Chrysler.

I wish, the way its pictured is the way I seen it. it was a 2.5 with cruise, manual trans and a/c. If anybody wants anything off it I can go back but taillights, emblems interior lights and rear window are gone. Hopefully someone on here got them and not the local ebayer.

If those check out check your battery cables if youve got a ohm meter disconnect it from the battery and ohm the cables.

Fuse links are near the battery and starter relay if memory serves me correct. But with http://jeep.zerok.ru/index.php?page=196 it shows they come right off the starter relay. I would start there. The thing with fuse links is finding the soft spot and see if you can separate it. FYI just cause it's new doesn't mean it's good, had a co worker buy a brand new battery and still have to use a jump to start his ride.

Battery charged? If so it could be a bad or disconnected ignition switch or fuse link. Do you have headlights?
