  1. I'm curious to see the various foams you selects for the HVAC rebuild,a d any other details of the HVAC rebuild.
  2. Been a while since I completed one of @cruiser54 tips. Just did the wiper motor ground improvement, and changed the bushings ect. Trans plug connector refreshing and fuel pump ground upgrade are also done. Tips remaining; 13 – Renix Distributor indexing 19 – Headlight harness installation 21 – Renix EGR valve test 23 – CPS timing advance mod 25 – Valve cover mod 26 – Oil Filler cap Mod 28- Improving blower motor performance 35- Reducing cabin wind noise
  3. While shopping for a pinion seal, for the Dana44 in my MJ, I noticed a marked price difference between two National brand seals. 53% price difference from rockauto. National Seal Part Numbers: 5778 and 5778V The only difference between them seam to be material. What do you guys think? Anyone familiar with theses materials? I found a webpage that gives a comparison of the two materials, but the reason for the higher cost of the FKM is not immedatly apparent to me. https://www.makeitfrom.com/compare/Fluorocarbon-Rubber-FKM-FPM/Polyacrylate-Rubber-ACM/
  4. I'm finishing this maintenance/upgrade today. I was in the process of adding new grease when I realized that my 88 MJ has only three spring-loaded contacts in the gearbox, and I have Hi/Lo/Delay settings that all work. Looks like my ground contact is bonded to the gearbox cover and supplied ground via the wire terminal on one of the cover screws.
  5. I will, thank you for that tip!
  6. My local bed liner shop does warranty their work, and they use a heated, two-part polyurethane. I definitely want dent resistance as my bed is going to see rough treatment. On the other hand, I see you guys have gotten excellent results from do-it-yourself brands with proper prep. Might end up coming down to how much free time vs cash I have when I'm ready to pull the trigger.
  7. About to have my bed done and I've been "researching" quite a lot. My impression is that professionally applied bed liners, like Line-X or Rhino Liner, are FAR more durable and add FAR more resistance to dents and scratches than do-it-yourself products like Raptor Liner (although raptor liner seem to be significantly superior to products like herculiner which I've had bad experiences with) If cost is not a concern, what is the best truck bed liner?
  8. Are you going to also apply sound deadener, like dynamat?
  9. That's exactly what I wanted to see.
  10. Awesome. What about interior chrome options?
  11. Mostly for fun (but I might do it don't dare me) I was wondering what the comprehensive list of factory chrome parts would look like. Anyone have pics of super chromed out Comanches? Start of the exterior chrome list: Front Bumper Factory fog light housings Upper and lower header trim Marker light bezels Headlight bezels Headlight trim rings Grille "JEEP" emblem Wiper arms Windshield trim Gutter trim (whats the correct name?) Side view mirrors Exterior door handles "4X4" emblem Tailgate handle
  12. Everyone should see the tallest trees on Earth at least once in their lives if they can. The giant sequoias, farther south in California, are also amazing. Let me know if you ever do come out to my neck of the woods.
  13. I decided that the 97+ side views will look awful. I'm thinking about these chromes ones, https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/manual-replacement-mirror-early-cherokee-xj/driver-chrome
  14. Right up in them actually.
  15. Perhaps you are not familiar with "the emerald triangle" or Humboldt county?
  16. Hahah, I'd rather not be shot.
  17. A friend of mine is driving down to Fresno which has several massive yards. I'm going to ask him to get the parts for me.
  18. Thanks! That store doesn't have them in stock now but I sent them a message.
  19. The weather stripping I would rather buy new. Any suggestions for a kit? At :45 in the video he says he finds that the track, interior and exterior wipers, and seal normally come together in a kit. I'm not finding any such kits.
  20. Could be. I'd love to see you win that wager. People often fail to understand how remote my region is. I had a wanted ad up on my local Craigslist for over a month. Any other ideas how I might find such a donor? My town has 25,936 people and the next largest city is 147 miles away.
  21. I guess I would also need to knobs for adjusting the mirrors.
  22. I am getting ready to have my truck painted and I want to address the intolerable non-functioning wing vents and little mirrors that sit behind the wing vent area. I'd like to have power windows and door locks but I have never found a super clear write up on that and I want to get this done quickly. I would like to do this to my 88 MJ, Get a Bigger Window in Your Old XJ or MJ I do not have access to a wreaking yard, the nearest one is 7 hours round trip. I have found 97 manual side views (wish I could find chrome). https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ksc-60097c I assume one of the local glass shops can get me the windows. Where should I look to buy the manual window regulators and weather strip kits?
  23. Sorry to hear that!
