Looka great! On the rear, I go as dark as possible for Comanches, unless you plan on having a campershell on most of the time. Otherwise the cab can be turned into a greenhouse and I'll be one rednecked redneck.

Tips for a cool running comanche?
EUREKA replied to Discoman9001's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had problems on hot summer days when driving up into the mountains, which can be very steep for many many miles where I live. I switched to open cooling, deleted heater control valve, replaced fan clutch. Those improvements made a noticeable difference. I latter installed a flowkooler water pump and added redline water wetter, and that was a game changer. -

I had basically no rust on the floor pans. Painted with rust bullet automotive and rust bullet blackshell, then did 80 mil (2mm) butyl sound deadener, then 10mm heat shield mat sound deadener. Installed 6.5" kickers in the b-pillars using theses, https://boxyjeep.com/products/jeep-comanche-6-5-rear-speaker-brackets from boxyjeep. Still have to do, a-pillars headliner sun visors rearview rear window windsheild convert drivers side to full sized glass (already did passenger side) door speakers door panels new chrome door handles and side views and fender flares -
I bought a new rear-view that has compass and temp display, but I'm not sure where I should mount the temp probe. I was thinking under the balance in the area with the wiper arms. Does that sound reasonable? I don't know where newer cars have them. I think I'm going to install the temp probe in the grill, but I'm not sure how I should run the wires through the firewall. Or where I should get 12 volts that is only on when the ignition is on.

Although the rear glass is slightly curved, it's not so curved that you can't use a flat piece to replace it. For those using the CRL window, it makes the rubber obsolete.

We have one that no longer allows people to enter and hunt around due to insurance issues. I live in a very remote area. -
Options for overhead console and visors?
EUREKA replied to EUREKA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I live 3.5 hours drive from a junkyard. I ordered a console from ebay that I thought would work but it turned out that it was too wide, so it interfered with the sun visor clips. -
Did you have an old one to use as a template or did you just measure for the angle on the bottom?

Thank you Sir. I'll check it out.

I want one but not for the prices I find them at, not by a long shot. Anyone make their own?

Can door locks be rekeyed to match ignition?

Thanks guys! I have column shift, and I kinda prefer it too. I'm waiting to hear back from my local locksmith. -
Thanks for the advise, it was exactly what I needed.

I see that my deck has pre amp outputs for rear speakers and sub woofer only, not for front speakers. I'm defantly not trying to play music for anyone except me and a passenger. Not interested in impressing anyone outside the truck. So the 20 Watts RMS that my deck outputs would be enough to drive the speakers that are rated at 100 watt RMS, and sound good in the small cab of the truck? I happen to own a 12" sub in a slim box that would fit behind my bench seat easily, but I'm not sure I need a subwoofer to be happy with the sound. Can you explain why it is that tweeters make more sense if I am going to use a subwoofer? Thanks for your help!

I considering this amp, https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CX36T/Kicker-46CXA360-4T.html?tp=35782

I upgraded to the full size glass, so no vents.

Thanks! Should I place the tweeters down near the stock location, mount them in the doors somewhere, or use these https://napierprecisionproducts.com/shop/ols/products/tweeter-pods I came across this thread discussing tweeter location but I'm not sure whose opinion is correct, https://www.jeepforum.com/threads/tweeter-location.507303/

I haven't installed a decent car audio system since the 90's and I have some question about how to design my system. I have recently purchased a pair of KICKER CSC65 6.5" speakers (300 watt peak / 100 watt RMS) with the idea of using them in my b-pillars. I think I will also use a pair of KICKER CSC65 6.5" speakers in my doors. Based on the RMS output of my media receiver ( Sony DSX-A415BT that outputs 20 Watts RMS × 4 at 4 Ohms) it looks like I should be using an amplifier. Is this correct? If so how many watts per channel should the amp have? Does it need to be 100 watts RMS per channel, or would 50 watts per channel do a good job of driving the four 6.5" kickers? Any recommendations for amplifiers? Where should I install the amp? Any other things that I should be considering? Thanks!

I was wondering what the options are for OH console and sun visors upgrades. I've seen ghetdjc320 found a OH console from an XJ with sunroof and that would seem like the easiest option but its probably a long shot finding one. I also saw what Gjeep did for Son of Stink. I'm not sure I have the skills for that without a write up to follow. Any other approaches?
