I'm just outside Philly, in Ardmore. I think milemarker 339 on I76, Route 1/City Ave exit. On a good day I'm 10 minutes from 76, bad day 30 minutes. Let me know if you need anything.

Positive it is the door, sat there for an hour running the hose over all areas while sitting in the truck, seat's been pulled for easier watching. Got the seals from team cherokee. Don't know what year they are really for.

Worth a shot. Thanks

Recently replaced the door seals, less than a year ago. This fixed the leak on the passenger side, not so much the driver side, found its leaking again. Want to know what is the thickest seal that will fit the MJ? I know people have mentioned the Grand Cherokee seals, just wondering if there are others? Thanks Josh

Didn't somebody just post up a pic of a comanche with a rear at Harry's u pull it in Hazelton? Would be cheap and not too too far. Hopefully the correct ratio.

I couldn't even begin to read it, my eyes glazed over.

I just pulled my rear bumper, the caps are a bit scratched up, but if you need them you can have them for the price of shipping. Josh

03 nv3550, into 92 HO. what pilot bushing?
jvd replied to gaucho919's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not to hijack the thread, but for a swap from an ax 15 to a nv3550 will the tranny crossmember mount work or does something need to be fabricated? I have a nv3550 sittin in garage and i'm just curious. Thanks, Josh -
I was about to ask about this problem. It just started two weeks ago for me, pain in the butt to not be able to read the forum when shopping with the wife, it helps pass time when standing outside the dressing room. Glad to know there is a solution. Thanks Josh

Where is this freakin" leakin' !!! ????
jvd replied to Jeep Man's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I found that one of the bad leaks came from, believe it or not the hole in which my emergency brake cable leaves the back of the cab. When I changed out the cable I didn't slide the extra piece of rubber which is around the cable into the hole because it didn't fit, big mistake. I also took it too a windshield shop and they removed the trim, sprayed foaming window cleaner around the edge then took an air compressor and ran air around the inside of the windshield to see if air was escaping, thus a leak. Wish I figured that one out myself. Try it, be careful, they broke my trim clips. -
Have faith in the old MJ! Bought mine in St Louis and drove it back to Philly non-stop (besides fuel), no problem.

So what year 4.0 can I use to replace my 91 4.0?
jvd replied to 91coMANche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not to hijack, but my 91 also has an external slave AX15, build date 11/90. Don't know if previous owner changed it I sort of doubt it, seems to be alot of work for a guy that just did regular upkeep. -
Keep an eye on craigslist, in my area lots of theives advertise one day only sales between certain hours for tools in sketchy areas, makes you wonder. Working as a medic in bad areas around philly I get to hear the police talking about the guys trying to sell hot items and the excuses they come up with why they have certain items.

Saw spacers from Alloy for 85 bucks on team Cherokee website, think they say hub centric, don't know if their any good or not.

Did you happen to see what rear axle was in it? Did it have an aftermarket hitch?
-
I'm suffering from the same problem. I've followed the leak all the way to the top corner of the firewall on the driverside. This doesn't help me much, is it the windshield or the windshield motor compartment (of which you can't see in)? Talked to a glass company and they told me to bring it in for a pressure test to see if it is actually the windshield seal. This is my next step, maybe you could check around for this test also.

Any of those MJ's have Dana 44 rears or hitches?

I am curious why every time I respond to a post, the post moves back to the top of the page. How do I fix this? I think I read somewhere someone talking about "bumping" to move a topic up, I would like to avoid this.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll skip it and make plans for Hazelton on another day.

Just curious if any members have been to Harry's U Pull It in Allentown. They don't inventory vehicles, you show up and hope they have what your lookin for. Has anybody been there, do they have any comanches on their lot? Was plannin a trip there tomorrow to nose around. Thanks Josh

Question about the valve cover on my 91 comanche with a 4.0. I have a donor 94 4.0 xj engine sitting, waiting to be rebuilt (this winter) and noticed that they have different valve covers. The valve cover on the 91 has the quarter turn ccv valve and air intake valve, similar to a 90 and 87 4.0 I had. The 94 ccv valve and air intake valve are not quarter turn, not sure how they come out, haven't investigated yet. So the question I have, are the engines still the same, are they both the H.O. 4.0 or is the 91 a mix and match of parts from the renix era? The build date on the 91 is 11/90. I figured the 94 would be a plug and play with the 91 system now i'm not to sure. I know one way to tell if the 4.0 is H.O. is that the trottle body is mounted with 4 bolts and renix is 3 bolts. The 91 has four bolts, just confused with the valve cover. Thoughts?

It probably would be easier to have a pro reseal the windshield. Thanks

I've been trying to track a water leak on the driverside of the ol' manche. Have replaced the door seals, cowl seal, sealed all possible cracks in the engine bay. After the little bit of rain in the east last night, found an inch of water on driverside floor. Anybody ever have to replace the windshield seal to stop a leak? The windshield still has the metal trim, is there a way to remove the trim without damaging it to check the seal? Anybody ever have a leak coming from the winshield wiper motor compartment, and how do you even see in there to find out. Thanks for the help. Josh

Novak adapters has aftermarket t case linkages, a bit pricey though.
