  3. yeah that would be great if you could post some pics of how its all hooked up then i could just buy whatever parts I'm missing and hook it up to match your pics
  4. your alternator should be putting out 13 to 14 volts to your battery depending on how much electronics are running in your vehicle now your voltage gauge in your dash just samples the reading it gets and displays it so if its off there are a few reasons why 1 its not grounded but you said you grounded it i would just make sure its grounded properly 2 there could be a faulty gauge or connection where it reads (the electronics after time tend to lose there linearity and fall off of its reading) 3 poor continuity (check all the wires it connects two a corroded wire or connection can drop 2-3 volts easily especially from all the shaking you get from driving)
  5. it is possible to take the mirror apart and re-fabricate the harness in side of it however your gonna have to figure that out on your own the haynes manuel does give you some info on what the inside looks tho
  6. i say no way 86 is made by AMC 89 is made by Chrysler they may have both been made at the exact same factory but the engineer that designed your vehicle is not the same one that designed the 86 vehicle your better off upgrading that 86 to a 3.4 or a 4.0
  7. Hello i am restoring a 86 comanche 2.8 ltr 4wd automatic when i bought the vehicle it had no 2.8 ltr LR2 motor in it so i put in a 3.4 ltr L32 motor in it i am at the part where I'm trying to get the tranny to work and I'm trying to figure out how the power steering works if anyone has pics of how the power steering hooks up and what it all connects to would be great i don't know where to connect the hose lines from the P.S. pump but i do have the pump connected to the motor also where is the drain plug on the tranny i think i put to much fluid in it because it slips i have the 3-speed A904 automatic tranny i was also having a hard time reading the dip stick to the tranny where exactly is the line that tells you when its full i did read in the haynes manual that the truck must be running in order to check the fluid level if you guys want pics i can post some upon request Thanks
