  2. congrats bro at least you figured it out and got it to work does it work correctly or is the reading off at all ?
  3. ok guys take a look at this pic and hopefully you can tell me what it is its under the bed on the driver side rear i was wondering what does it do and if i need it or can i remove it it has like a swinging bar that swings from left to right
  4. ok so basically you guys are saying keep the one on the left but get ride of the one on the right thats fine with me left side (keep) right side (remove and install new buttons or gauges) i am rewiring my MJ to a basic 3 wire system as of right now i haven't started the rewiring yet but my left panel does not display anything like when my 4WD is engaged does anybody know how to get it to work again
  5. Does anyone know what the sigma six display on the left and right side of the dash show i was thinking about removing the one on the right and putting in a new panel for buttons if you guys are confused about what i am saying i will post a pic of it tomorrow
  6. ok here is a pic of the dipstick so from what i have read you must be in between the two lines but it helps if your closer to the full line ADD I xxxx I FULL i should be at the last two X's is that correct? so i have clearly put to much fluid in the tranny as shown in the pic above
  7. yes the oil pan gasket is probably bad so i will just crack it open let it all drip out put it back on with a new gasket and fill it up to the correct level when i check what the fluid level is do i have to have the vehicle running and does the vehicle have to be on a straight leveled road because my drive way is on a slant like a hill also i will post a pic of the dip stick can anyone tell me where exactly does the full line begin?
  8. ok i will take it apart tomorrow and see if the brake booster can be reused or if it must be replaced i will also try to post a pic of what it looks like taken apart hopefully a auto parts store will have it in stock
  9. what exactly do you guys mean when you say it runs off of the ignition system
  10. well there you go check and make sure it is connect and grounded well then if it still don't work take it back and try a different one if it still does not work then let us know and i can look up some schematical specs for you
  11. ok that help me out so i believe since you have a in line 4 motor and your vehicle is 2 wheel drive you have no sensor from your tranny telling the dash what your rpm is i think the only way to get it to work is to take the tranny to a tranny shop and have them put in a sensor so that you can hook it up to your rpm dash gauge now i may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that since the original dash did not have an rpm gauge then why would they install a tranny that has a rpm sensor in it ??? on the other hand you might be lucky they might have the sensor in the tranny and they just never ran the wire for it up to the dash i would look at the tranny and see if there is any evidence of an electrical connection and go from there
  12. with out any pics of how it looks hooked up in the vehicle i can't really determine what could have went wrong when you say your Tach isnt working do you mean that all of the gauges work but the RPM gauge does not work? also tell us what year your MJ is the guy in your link did it in a 87 XJ so he might have already had a RPM gauge even in his old dash witch made the swap to the new one super easy for him
  13. ok so i just unbolt the old M.C. and bolt in a new M.C. then add new fluid and thats it can anyone tell me the proper way to replace it and what to do to get the brakes working correctly after I'm done replacing the part? also will a master cylinder repair kit work or do i just have to buy a new M.C. http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=907419&cc=1181393&jsn=453
  14. ok so are you saying i have to remove the drain pan (1st pic) and allow some of the fluid to drip out or is there some proper way of allowing it to come out once the pan is removed? also if i drive it with to much fluid will it ruin the tranny or will it just cause the tranny to slip
  15. ok here are the pics drain pan (front) middle (back) transfer case
  16. Hey guys i have a 86 MJ with a 3 speed A904 tranny i put to much tranny fluid in it i was wondering where the drain plug was so i can remove some of the fluid ive been looking all over for it and can't find it (most likely because of how dirty it is) also i have 4WD just to let you guys know i will post a pic too
  17. it would be great to get my brakes working like new i have put new pads on the front and new shoes in the back also i bleed the lines and put new fluid in it thats when i noticed the leak the Master cylinder looks like it just needs a light cleaning and it will look ok but the Power Brake Booster defiantly needs more then just a light cleaning its seen better days :( any advice will help guys thanks for reading
  18. here are the pics the whole thing under it close up
  19. My power brake fluid is leaking and i was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to fix it it is leaking where the Master cylinder connects to the Power Brake Booster on the bottom part of the master cylinder do i have to replace the master cylinder or is there something that i can just put on in between there to get the leak to stop? i will also post a pic for you guys to see
