2wd ba10 to 2wd ax15 Trans swap
Torq_Shep replied to ogjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is an internal slave bell housing. It could easily be changed to external slave. -
Not really. The best you will be able to do is to look at the vehicles close to it in the registry excel sheet. There are, unfortunately, no known metrics for numbers of each trim.

Rear slider window seals and felt
Torq_Shep replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This is the closest I can find to the felt trim. https://jjautofabrics.com/2151-universal-flexible-window-channel-3-8-wide-x-7-16-tall-sold-by-continuous-yard/ But we may end up SOL on the other part. -
Even if the other wheels were alloys? I just assumed Jeep would be too cheap to offer an alloy as the spare.

I think some came with full size spares?

Rear slider window seals and felt
Torq_Shep replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
https://www.exactseal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Small_P_Seal_Profiles.pdf Number 955 is the closest thing I can find to it. Might be worthwhile contacting the company and see if they have this? However, it does look like this might fall under P-Seal profile. -

Is this one style or two different styles? -
What spare wheel did Comanches come with from the factory? Anyone know?

You should do the bad dad fab winch mount with factory front bumper =P

15 hours to Atlanta and 15 hours back... I have done the drive twice. Don't really want to do it again anytime soon. Although to get out of Texas from where I live would take at least 4 hours in any given direction. 9+ hours if going north or west. 3.5 to Mexico.

Long shot and I am not committed to this idea yet. I am looking for a straight shortbed within driving distance (7 hours or so) from San Antonio. Must be rust free, some dents are okay but needs to be close to straight with no major previous body work. The one I have on the truck has no rust but is dented all over, would be willing to trade it for a nicer one and cash on my end. Figured I would ask as it would save me some time doing body work.

Absolutely agree... There are a lot of reasons to replace these tires. I know it is expensive but it is worth it for your safety. I once inherited a motorcycle with a 1983 front tire... Didn't wait too long to change that out =P

Really Dumb Brake Light Switch Question
Torq_Shep replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got it working with a spacer. -
I checked their website and unless I am blind they don't make them for the HOs?
-
I am irritated as I have seen this topic before and cannot find it through search. Who sells a new sending unit for an H.O. shortbed (1991 18 gallon tank)
-
So I replaced my brake booster in the 1989 and put the brake light switch on the new booster. I think I put it on the way it was supposed to go but it does not work like it should. If I get under the dash and push the switch up or down on the booster to brake pedal mount it will turn on the brake lights but it does not work under normal operation. Is there an adjustment procedure for the AMC style switch?

1988 MJ project package for sale. Warwick, NY
Torq_Shep replied to NYMJ88's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
So I am going to be polite but realistic. I had a similar project sale about 2 years ago. Clean 4x4 eliminator short bed. no rust but had been spray painted and needed to be stripped. Sold the titled rolling shell with taillights, tailgate, bumpers, and glass for $1200 Renix engine, AX15, NP231 I got $800 for Other misc stuff I got about $600 for (seats, center console, stuff I had bought) Selling as a package you will be lucky to get 2k. If you part it out you might get 3k. If the other jeep is in good shape you might be able to get a total of 5k but really depends on the shape of that other jeep. If money is more important than time, part it out, if time is more important than money sell it whole and sell it cheap. If it is an emotional thing that you don't want to part it then there is not much advice I can give you. -

HVAC Control Panels, Finally!
Torq_Shep replied to ghetdjc320's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
I know someone selling a panel for pretty cheap if you want one to just start with as a core. I would be interested in a rebuilt one if you can put the white trim on the sliders on. -
If you ever want to use the back seat it is not very fun imho... My first ever vehicle was a 1994 2-door. Yeah it was cool but it was not very practical.

I have a 2wd AX-15 in San Antonio if you decide you want to ditch the BA-10 Looks a lot like my black truck. Super lucky you still have the eliminator wheels on that thing!

Do you have a way to get the white outline on the sliders back? -

As an aside if you do any home improvement and don't have one of these... I thought they were pointless but I love mine. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-OCTANE-Cordless-Brushless-JobMax-Multi-Tool-with-Tool-Free-Head-R862105B/308056194
