  1. It's been accurate on every vehicle I have checked.
  2. It's still in the truck. It's a 2 wheel drive trans. I can't ship, only local pick-up.
  3. Passenger side fender has one bolt left, I may have to remove the rock sliders to get to it.
  4. Yes, and straight, except one small ding on the driver's side fender, under the flare. The bumpers are not part of the deal, I'll pull them and return. I have a buddy that builds awesome winch bumpers. He built one for my ZJ and it has been tested and abused on recovery work.
  5. Insurance paid off very well. Here's my truck with the '88 XJ donor, 4.0, auto, locked front and rear Dana 30 / Dana 44, on 4.5" lift and 33's.
  6. I ran across pics of this truck and shared on Facebook this week. Very nice.
  7. Post a pic of your fuel gauge.
  8. Almost all have this.
  9. The grommets are cheap from Summit. I replaced mine when I put a new tank in.

    Decisions

Agreed. I have a '97 ZJ, used for daily, rescues, off-road fun, and towing my kayak trailer. '89 MJ, was daily, getting ready for lift and locked and 4x4 swap. '68 VW Baja Building a '73 VW Thing for off-road '66 VW that needs an engine back in so it can be a daily again. '88 XJ bought for parts for the MJ.
  11. Very good write-up. Just curious as to why you dropped the tank to pull the sending unit?
  12. I have 3.07 rear axle and 31's. 70 is no problem. The Volvo injectors did help.
  13. It should be AW4 and a 231. The '88 XJ donor is being dropped off tomorrow. I'll have to buy the correct input shaft.
  14. What's wrong with the sending unit?
  15. . I don't think so, all ax-15s had 23 spline output shafts, the ba-10/5 and early aw-4s had 21 spline outputs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk That matches what the guy told me. He said swapping the input on the transfer case is simple. It should be a lot quicker and easier than swapping in the automatic transmission.
  16. If I swap in an AX-15 from a 4x4, the only others parts I would need are axles, TC, linkage, and driveshafts? Will the TC from an '88 auto trans bolt up to an '87-'90 AX-15?
  17. If that truck is worth $2500, mine must be $5000. I'd keep looking.
  18. I did my tank without jacking mine up. Stock suspension on 31's.
  19. Nice write up. Glad your incident wasn't worse, bad enough with the collar bone.
  20. Threaded plug or rubber?
  21. 11 41 would be the gear count... Pinion has 11 teeth Ring gear has 41 41÷11= 3.73
  22. Following for when my tube bender arrives
  23. Just have to take it easy
  24. I had a 242... Even let a 15 year old drive with me riding shotgun, she didn't have an problems.
  25. I drove an XJ with welded rear and auto locker in the front on snow and ice here in Oklahoma, never had any problems.
