Can't you find someone around there with the same combination and ask them their opinion?Try a welding supply house. They should have some names, recommendations.

Got a D44 I pulled out of a '87 MJ, missing the pinion. So I guess it's not a complete loss. Make something out of them.

Well,, I got the dern things. If I had known it was going to be a 140 mile round trip wouldn't have bothered. It's just the ring gear and pinion and bearings from a 2009 Rubicon. 30k. Couldn't really see any wear on them. Fella upgraded and had no use for them. :thwak:

Apparently I'm in a good area for buying. Just a PP one for selling. Anyway talked to the guy. Going after them later this afternoon.

Sorry. I have never had a puny D35 break on me so I've never had to replace one. I do know D44 are the rave, in thing and I've bought several, the complete assembly for less than a $100 when I had the chance, but they're just sitting in the yard, unused. I have seen them advertised for anywhere between $75 to $650 but I've never seen any actually sold or bought. I know they are a desirable axle. I just don't know there worth, true worth. Jim

Don't know what the axle ratio or tranny was on this one. It was 6 speed. I know it was kinda boggy from a dead start. I just put it down to being new, not broke in yet. Ran real good at 90 on the highway, but was only highway for 20 miles. Rest was prairie, gully hopping.

Not having anything to do and just curious I stopped by the Jeep dealer this morning. Put 100 miles on a shiny red Wrangler Rubicon. Had 6 miles on the clock when I started it. Had a 109 on it when I shut it off 3 hours later. Plus it was dirtier than hell. Not sure how bad I scratched up the under carriage. Salesman wanted $35,999. I offered $30 thou cash. After dickering for 30 minutes and not getting any place I left. Problem is, I liked it. Problem is, I don't need another JEEP, or any other vehicle. Somebody stop me, please. :no:
