  1. I could probably swap the d44 out of my 88 base mj for the 92 mj rear end to keep the 3.54 gears, and maybe the big ton springs too?
  2. I recently acquired 92 xj as described in my signature real cheap. There is a 92 mj for sale with a 4cyl, 5 speed, 2wd. I would like to put the 4.0, aw4, command trac, into the mj. What is compatible between the 4cyl/6cyl swap, mt/at swap, or keep the m/t?, to make the switch? What am I getting my self into? I have good general knowledge of automotive skills. Just getting a little gray on top. I forgot to add that they are the same color exterior and interior!
  3. just throwing in my recent experience, I had recently replaced the coolant temp sensor (CTS). was getting terrible mpg and wouldn't pass DEQ but ran pretty good. the CTS was sending fake news to the ECU. runs great now. just something else to look at.
  4. We all have a little bum in us. Right? It's more about timing. 💰😀
  5. on a 92 HO I need a new crankcase vent tube, and the only one I can find is on amazon listed under the mopar brand 23.60 + shipping. is this only a OEM piece? mine is split at the air box end.
  6. received the seat brkts Saturday. they look great, very stout. I think I'll wait till I get the buckets and mount them then, in the mean time a nice semi gloss black powder coating is next. thanks again.
  7. Found it! Nuts or something in the frame ready to install. I'm assuming MJ are the same way.
  8. I saw a drawtite class3 hitch on craigslist for $30 that came off a XJ, and was looking at my XJ and was wondering how you can mount it. its a box frame and was wondering how?
  9. I pulled the bulb just to get thru DEQ.
  10. It's worth checking CL for these too. Got mine off a 96 XJ for $25 for the set and they are a big improvement. according to the parts vendors the replacement w/s for a mj is the same as and up to a 96 xj. which makes me wonder if the oem is a little bit wider than aftermarket replacement. thanks for the info.
  11. Maybe those are the double sided lug nuts? Or lefty lug nuts from a dodge? Insane!
  12. that site is even juicier!! bookmarked.
  13. not even for a 5%- 10% discount? free shipping? it all adds up.
  14. www.promocodes.com. before you click that order button, check to see if they offer a promo code, there is a ton of companies that offer promo codes. and there's quite a few in the automotive category. its very well organized.
  15. I've used to use that trick on interior doors too, never thought of that for car doors. I used to watch my dad tweak car doors with the ole " 2x4 in the door jamb adj " and it worked most of the time too. I had another thought, and that would be to shim the outside of the flange somehow that the W/S fits over in needed sections or the whole thing. the idea would be to force it toward the door. orrrr...………………. just get a wider W/S! ...…………………... thanks keyav8r.
  16. well then I'll take a set, my zip is 97211. I will pm you with my shipping details. and you take paypal I assume?
  17. I currently have a bench seat and I'm currently repairing a little rust in the floor boards. as you can see it rusted off this part of the brkt, but the holes in the floor I was able to save. my question I guess is with your seat brackets I can put my bench seat back in, and at a later date put in buckets from a XJ or a MJ? and would I have to do any modifications to your brkts or the bucket seats to make them fit? are MJ, XJ buckets a direct fit? I've never done much fabricating so this is all kind of new to me.
  18. thanks for the info. not much of a junk yard dog, but may have to do some reconnoitering.
  19. good to now. my neighbor has a 98 xj, I'm going to look at his when I get a chance. what are your opinion on oem W/S from mopar? besides the price.
  20. appreciate the input guys. what are the differences between pre-97 and post-97 W/S. Pete, what do you mean by "adjusting the doors" ?
  21. been pouring over past posts on door weatherstrip to see if their was a general consensus on which vendor had the best product. and it seems that the replacements tend to be that they don't seal that well, especially at the top of the door. the vendors that include width measurements all seem to indicate 7/8" overall width. it would seem the originals were about 1" or slightly wider. mine are original and they're at least 1" in width and they're 30 years old. has anyone found a good vendor to that has had good success with issue, or has anyone used original mopar W/S, is it wider? I've been to many of the web sites and it seems inconclusive and there's only about 4 different W/S makers. crown, Fairchild, omix-ada, and maybe one other. my doors hinges are tight with no sag and the body lines are good
  22. appreciate the feedback. I went with the crown 52003190 from summit racing. I just can't trust product images and/or info sometimes, my speedometer cable I purchased from amazon said " It didn't fit my 88 MJ " but it was the correct one! when there are numerous brands offering the same part, I'm going to ask the club for their input every time! I couldn't believe nobody had one here locally.
  23. It looks like I'll have to order the front cable for my 88 MJ and my concern is correct length, sizes, differences in quality, and will there be a plug where the cable passes through rear cab hole to the equalizer bar. I only want to order it one time, so I'm turning to our members on their recommendations. thanks
  24. Atp y-924 is 77" long, should fit your manual set up. That's one solution.
