Here's some other spots you may be interested in: And... Out of pure awesomeness... A truck that I adore, but only possess one picture of: I too like those vehicles for some strange reason.

If you know your axle (Dana 35, or 44), go to your local stealership, and they can get you new spring perches CHEAP! That's what a couple guys keep saying on here. You buy them, and they'll look something similar to this: Then, they need to be welded on to the axle, above where the old perches were. You'll want to adjust where they are on top of the axle to try and point the differential at the rear side of your transfercase. Either before or after you weld the new perches on, grind the old ones off. No one wants those things hanging up on crap. Make sure to get some new u-bolts. Those old ones won't like you. They don't like anyone.

Please not on an MJ!

That's me! I still have my wood all stained up and ready to go on the ceiling, but don't know how to mount it.

I hate body lifts, but if that's the case, it's super easy to do! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/ The forum is apparently for 67-72 trucks, but they're super knowledgable on the newer ones too!

my next MJ project, this time a street truck

Didn't know if simple or easy was on the menu. My apoligies. -
more power out of the 4.0 litre
feerocknok replied to Diggerbob's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Heresay, but apparently HO injectors are an upgrade. :dunno: One day I'll learn about these... four litres... -
Not to mention, the "frame" would be toast! The SM465's first gear is 6.55:1, so as far as granny gearing goes, it's the granny's grandma. The AX5's first gear, on the other hand, is 3.93:1, so it sounds like more to your liking. Advance Adapters has a kit to put a Chevy Small Block in front of the AX5. Looks like it's just a bellhousing, and it'll run ya $455.40.

Let's talk alternators.
feerocknok replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Any idea why they're blowing? I don't know the Renix system (at all), but maybe a bad regulator's all your problem? -
Aww, poor MJ!!! Reminds me of the old Scout IIs. The one at work has the top off, and that's what that MJ reminds me of.

I think the numbers would look real good, and I think the star would accent them real well. What about something different on the hood?

I've been thinking about the lowering thing, and since you (BrettM) are a fab master, what do you think about moving the leaf springs outboard and do a fullsize Chevy shackle on em. It'll drop you inches just reversing the shackles, and if you want to be lower, you can use longer shackles. As well, you'll have increases stability on the road! -
Does anyone else ever want to fix the vehicles in the U-Pull-Its? They've got a ZJ there, with no axles, and 1/2 an interior. I want to roll a 14 bolt under the back, a 44 with some leaves attached under the front, and put crap inside it. :( :wrench: <-for life!

How well do rear XJ fender flares fit the MJ?
feerocknok replied to jage's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'll tear apart a couple XJs in the yard next time I go, 2dr and 4dr and take pics for everyone next to the Manche they have. It will be a destructive rampage to gain information and expand the knowledge of MJ owners throughout the forum. -
How well do rear XJ fender flares fit the MJ?
feerocknok replied to jage's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sorry to bring back an old post, but I keep thinking about redefining the truck. So we decided that no XJ flares would fit the rear, unless serious bodywork was done? -
I always though the opposite. In extreme opposite, setting it on a pencil set sideways seems like it'd wrap horribly. Yeah, more leverage but you're further out on the lever so less force... Agreed.
-
I agree. You won't be able to do the bolt-on perches, because the Cherokee perches will be in the way. Sounds like fun!

My girly laughed her head off over the fact that anyone on this forum goes to JoAnns. How are you guys keeping it stuck up?
-
If you want to tow your Sami with it, I'd suggest a LWB. Avoid French transmissions. I don't know the years that they were used, but everyone else on here does.

Yes, but have you tried finding an izsuzu Pup diesel? MWC 4 Life yo., There's a Pup sitting for sale for the last year and a half, about 10 miles from me. Frame is rotted through, and the guy knows whoever buys it is buying it for the motor. I have tried to get it twice, but he wants too much money. Buy the trooper, you can crash here on the first nite on your way out to get it. We'll go bug Rafferty. I finally read the auction. Its got a rod through the block. And a messed up dash!!!!

Looks cool, and functional. What did you decide to do for a gas tank mount? Your rearviews not adjusted...

Here's my Project MJ "Gipetto"
feerocknok replied to ORCA's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
My buddy went through a puddle, and there was enough water that the filter never touched the water, but enough got on it to screw his TPS, and fill his cylinders with water. It was pretty cool though when we took out the spark plugs, cranked the engine, and shot water across the shop. A shield would've kept the splash out if it was made properly. -
I like that. Well, if you mean the olive drab like that, I like that alot. Didn't someone have an MJ that was olive drab, and it had a big ol Warn thing on the hood? I like the look, good work!
