  1. Apparently the ZJ disks can be made to fit, but its WAY easier to use crown vic or exploder brakes (go figure) I wonder if the Lincoln Mark VII vented disks could be made to fit, they are also on a Ford 8.8. I may try to swap those onto my XJ D44 and do a write up, but I have already gone through the brakes on it, at a significant cost. Anyone price out XJ or MJ D44 drums lately? Parts stores are mighty proud of em, reason enough to switch to disks.
  2. Naw, in Kansas its 21... Youve gotta move over from the Misery side :D
  3. Nice, I can see something like that whenever i get my concealed carry license... when I'm 21
  4. 4BT swap :dunno:
  5. :agree: Dealer one-off, not designed to happen. I seriously doubt, in fact, that it was done at or by a dealership. The guy who did it might have worked at a dealership in the day, but I cannot imagine any dealership being willing to incur the potential liability of doing a swap like that. Well I don't have pics of the jeep, or I'd post em up. But according to him the Jeep had rolled out of the dealership with a magnum 5.2... Even had the magnum V8 badges on the sides. He just bought it because he wanted something tall enough to look into student's cars... Sadly he got rid of it a couple years back.

    Honda XR75

Not exactly powerful, I have owned and ridden newer xr100s, and xr200s, and those things will run forever. Neither had as much power as I wanted, my RM250 gets up and goes
  7. My SRO officer at my high school had a lifted TJ with a dealer installed 5.2 Magnum, I don't know if there are many more. But chryco obviously intended the 5.2 to be a possible swap
  8. From what ive read, best route is a 5.2/5.9 swap as they were a dealership option, and the frame is notched for the mount. An ax-15 will even bolt up with a 3.9 dakota bellhousing
  9. the motor mount perches are welded to the TJ frame, so a 4.0 is not bolt in. Its about as difficult as the V8 swap. Ive driven a 2.5 TJ on 33s, and decided it was adequate. Id jump on it
  10. Weather here has turned my Mustang into a sauna

    WTF

    agreed
  12. ...I wish my MJ was worth $8000 Heck, I don't think I could sell the Mustang for that much, and that is collectible
  13. Those are the easy parts, the real question is What do I do about the cooling?
  14. :agree: :agree: :agree:
  15. Consider modifying a factory XJ one? :dunno:
  16. Well it seems like a whole lot of us agree with CW... I do
  17. It had to have one from leaving the factory. That plate light was on some MJ's from factory hidden up there... Rob L. My 87 Sportruck DIDNT have one from the factory. It had the light mounted to the bed under the tailgate with factory connectors. The Cherokee bumper is this trucks first bumper ever. The original owner made absolutely no modifications to this truck. Wasn't there a time when, if you didn't order your new truck with a rear bumper package, all you got was a plate light/mount? I remember seeing a lot of trucks running around without rear bumpers. Think it had something to do with truck impact safety standards, or lack of having to meet the standard because the vehicle was a truck? Well I guess it makes sense, seeing as if you get rear ended youve got 6.5-8 feet of "crumple zone" beween you and the other car. Take that volvo! :chillin:

  19. Good price of BA-10 = Good price of paperweight
  20. 8.8s are a c clip, but if you use disk brakes the calipers will hold the wheel on if the axleshaft breaks
  21. mine had a 3" square tube sticking out the back, I chopped it and recessed it under the bumper, looks pretty good now
  22. My driveshaft is a cut down 2wd 'shaft... its overkill
  23. I personally prefer the D44 cause its the correct width
  24. Well we still live there, my dad is a custom home builder so we live in a pretty nice one. Unfortunately since the housing market crashed there isn't much demand for $1million+ homes so he's kinda in the hole now. Thats the neighbors house in the picture, that wing is their indoor basketball court
