  1. Made that drive many times, which one did you not get up in 5th? My guess is the one at the Oregon/Cali border? Also, where ya hail from?

    MJOTM Blues

The MJOTM thread reminded me of my 1986 MJ. I bought it brand new in Bremerton, Washington. Black 4x4 V6 AT on the column. 8 months later I transferred to the PI and my wife couldnt find (paying) work over there so I couldn't afford the payments and had to sell it. Sold it to a Navy Warrant Officer. Anyone ever hear of an MJ being brought back from the PI?
  3. Hi, my name is Darin and i'm a jeep-aholic.... Welcome to the Club!
  4. I was thinking it would be cool to have a PowWow in your neck of the woods so I googled it.... 2600 miles from Utah, only 48 hours driving straight thru. :ack:
  5. Oops, I better check the mat in the truck i'm sellin...
  6. Do the fuel injected systems have a vacuum advance? This sounds like an issue I had way back when, on my carburated Mustang when the vacuum advance went haywire.
  7. Is that Master still good?
  8. If the seller has a salvage yard, it could also be a BOS title, thats what they used for the 'cash for clunkers'. They cannot be rebuilt, only parted out.
  9. Near as I can tell, they set it up like that to keep it from bouncing around. :dunno:
  10. Thanks for all the compliments, I got it for $1000. Ok, I didn't think those leafs were stock. Near as I can tell that AAL is the only lift in the back. I looked under the front and didnt see any pucks, so maybe it has larger springs? The tires are 31 x 10. It's got 188k on the meter, but I know thats off since I was doing 70 on the highway but the meter only showed 65. So the meter should be higher or lower? I think higher.
  11. 8-91 checked that before I bought it, was only slighty disapointed. Probably going to grab a AX15 with external slave from a cherokee in the scrap yard, then pull apart this one and see if I can learn how to fix em. Would be much cheaper in the long run. Supposedly the D35 is newly rebuilt, so it might last awhile, I don't plan to do any crawling. It looks good in the pics but it has a few spots that need attention, the passenger floor pan is shot. The bed is lined and the frame and underside of the bed are coated as well. The front and rear suspension are pretty rusty. Initially I am just going to clean it up. Did you notice the throttle body spacer, the PO claimed a 5mpg increase with that. I'll have to track my mileage to see if that pans out.
  12. Just picked this up. Drove it home with no 3rd gear. Is that a lift shackle? And whats going on with the 5 leafs? The door sticker rates it at 2644 lbs, but its a D35.
  13. here's the link to the Bill: http://le.utah.gov/~2010/htmdoc/sbillhtm/SB0106S01.htm I emailed my Senator, however, I doubt he even reads the emails.
  14. WoW!! Kevin, I hope she is a graphic artist, or else she should be!
  15. I would think that PBBlaster on the battery terminals could interfere with the connection. It would work as an insulator. Go ahead and change the cables and clean the posts this should fix your problem with not turning over.
  16. Are those Scouts?
  17. Are these after market or custom made?
  18. Got it licensed and drove around abit. Oil pressure is running high, around 50-60 at idle. Gonna try a new filter. Found a big puddle of coolant on the driveway, looks to be a leak at the radiator. :-( It'll have to wait till the snow melts off...
  19. Well Done!
  20. I have a 13 year old and I get notices from his teachers by email. When it is something like this I ask him what is going on and usually his reply is that the teacher hasn't updated the data or something to that affect. I do beleive that he should be responsible for his grades and I do not check his homework every night. However, when he does bring home that 'F' (hopefully never) that will change. My advice to you is to talk to your dad about it, the biggest problem between parents and kids is lack of communication. Unless you have brought home bad grades in the past there is no reason for your father to be getting on you about it. Try to get him to give you a chance to prove yourself. If he is not persuaded, then back off, getting into an argument is not going to help anything. Good Luck!
  21. Because they are not in touch with reality. They are so wound up that they barely notice the flowers blooming on the side of the road.
  22. hehe, yeah thats what I did, so far it worked for the main line, but there is still a slight drip on the bleeder, I need to find the right wrench for it. :work If there is any contamination inside the fitting (i.e. a bit or dirt or rust), then it may never seal properly.
  23. Glad to hear your coming home! Keep up the great attitude and you'll be up an around in no time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless. Darin
  24. Where the lines connect outside the bell housing it leaks, its only a slight leak but it drips right on that electrical connection on the tranny. Is there anything I can put on the threads to fix that? They are brass connectors I think.
  25. Thank you! So, when I got home from work I was all excited to fire it up. Hooked up the battery and cranked it over and it started but was making a weird noise, I thought it might have been because I didnt have the air cleaner housing hooked up. But when I was looking I noticed stuff coming off the belt.... As I was looking at the belt it started coming apart and I jumped back and shut it down! :hmm: So i'm looking at the belt wondering what happened I notice a bolt laying on the belt and right against the timing notch. Doh! Note to self always check the belt after working on the rig.... Replaced the belt with a spare I had and double checked everywhere for stray bolts or tools. Then fired it up, it ran a bit rough so I shut it down and hooked up the air filter housing. Made sure all the vacuum tubes were hooked up right and started it back up. Purrs like a kitten! Now I just need to hook up the clutch master to the slave and bleed the line. Then the drive shafts. :-)
