  1. Actually I am looking at this for the '87. I was thinking I could swap out everything under the hood and under the dash. I know it would be a major job. I just found a rolled '04 WJ with 67k at a salvage auction in SLC. :brows:
  2. On my '99 Burban it was as simple as the coil wire being corroded.
  3. That's awesome!
  4. A friend of mine has a '03 WJ with the 4.0 I6, it looks exactly like the one in my MJ. I understand all the accessories would be a PITA, however is it bolt in? Has anyone tried this?
  5. Awesome! I'll see you all there... maybe I should bring a big tank of water for us....
  6. Welcome to the club! Its nice to see another MJ being rescued.
  7. Welcome to the Club! Nice leather buckets!
  8. which fitting? I recall needing 2 different size wrenchs when I changed mine. pretty sure they were metric also.
  9. Welcome to the Club! You need to start a build thread and post ALOT of pics..... Head over to the DIY section and you will find threads for the AX-15 swap and the door hinge fix, as well as lots of other goodies. Also, check your floor pans for rust!
  10. Sweet Deuce! I would love to have one of those.
  11. I know he is, you want to post your questions? Or you could also PM me with them.
  12. My neighbor is, I can ask him for you?
  13. Where do you get the speedo gear?
  14. Sure, there is a DRMO lot behind my office and I always  when I walk by, there are more than 30 lined up out there. I'll have to get a pic.
  15. I filled my tank and it only went up to Half. But it does go down so not sure whats up with mine. I have read on here that you can buy a new XJ unit and use it to rebuild your MJ unit.
  16. Where you at? I have a 4.0 with a manifold bolt snapped off in the head. It ran fine but I had the exhaust leak and not the tools to fix it.
  17. Just for the record, I was gonna ask if you wanted my SWB drive shaft, it never occurred to me that yours is a LWB. BTW, you still lookin for the harness? I have a harness pulled from the '89 XJ.
  18. hahaha, thats a cool pic!
  19. I had a '65 Mustang Fastback for several years that was very beat up. In '85 I bought a new Mustang LX, big mistake. By the Fall of 1986, I was extremely desperate to get out of the '85 POS. I went to the Jeep dealer and fell in love with the Comanche. I was so far under on the '85 I had to take out a down payment loan. $16,000 for the MJ, $4,500 to get out of the '85. It was Black 4x4 2.8 AT on the tree. I pulled out the Bench and installed leather buckets out of a scrapped camaro. I put Yokohama 30" tires on it for a Mud runnin competition and took 2nd place because I didn't know to put it in 4 low. In 4 low on the 2nd run I destroyed the competition. In early '87 I transferred to Subic Bay, the wife couldn't find work and I had to sell the truck or starve, it was a tough choice. I sold the truck for $11,000 approximately 8 months after I bought it for $16,000. I still wake up at night crying.... But now when I wake up I can go out and sit in my '92 Eliminator and that helps! 8)
  20. Sorry to go off-topic, but do you have a build thread for your Deuce?
  21. I'm with Pete, cut the drivers side off so he can mount it!
  22. Nice work, I would love to have a shop with a lift!
  23. :agree: Count me in!
  24. That is a good point. Who has the equipment to fix it and the space to store it.
  25. Maybe the $500 MJ should go to '$500 MJ' ;)
