  1. Got myself a newer pump today with what looked like fairly new hoses. Hope it fixes my leaks up!
  2. That kinda what I was thinking. That or a almost plugged fuel filter.
  3. Sorry if I put this in the wrong spot.
  4. I'm looking at getting a grand Cherokee for a winter vehicle, but the one I'm looking at has some issues. Apperently it loses power and bucks under load, and can't go any faster than 20km/h. Could the MAP sensor cause this? It's a 4.0 litre, with auto trans, and is 4x4. Here is a link for it: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/saskatoon/1995-jeep-grand-cherokee-suv-crossover/1049553048?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  5. I use mastercraft (Canadian tire brand) 20 volt lithium ion. I have several drills, impact, and a saws all. I haven't had any real issues with any of them, and the batteries work good, had them for 2 years now. One thing about li-ion though, they don't like cold temperatures. Other than that I couldn't be happier with them. Especially seeing as how they are quite a bit cheaper than the big name brands.
  6. That's true, but the filter shouldn't be discounted. It still makes a difference. The better your air delivery, the better other mods work.
  7. Engines tend to run fine with the factory setup, however usually a standard filter doesn't allow as much airflow as is possible, that's why adding a higher flowing filter will gain you mpg, and hp. A cold air intake simply takes it a step further, with a cone filter usually. This setup will simply maximize the amount of air your engine can pull, with the factory setup. Just my 2 cents on it. Usually more airflow makes more of a difference coupled with a freer flowing exhaust, and more fuel.
  8. anyone have this thread downladed with all the pictures?
  9. Merry Christmas to all!
  10. I've got about 250,000 miles (over 400,000 km) on a '95 Ford Taurus. Someone I worked with parked their '91 at around 500,000 miles (over 800,000 km). She's a work beater, but runs good and doesn't seem to use any oil. The major deciding factor will probably be how long the body lasts.
  11. Alright! I'll see what I can find the next time I'm at the wreckers. Sorry for kinda hijacking the thread.
  12. What would be a good option for me that would be a bolt on?
  13. I guess I should have said the truck is a 4.0 litre, 2wd. I'm mainly looking for bolt on junkyard swaps. Hornbrod, did you swap over the lines with the new pump? And was it a direct bolt up? I guess I could just replace the pulley on mine, but it has a loud whine all the time, I put some Lucas power steering conditioner in it, and it's some quieter, but it bugs me and I don't want it to go out on me.
  14. I'm looking to swap out my steering box to the quick ratio one. Does the pump switch over too? Just wondering, Cause I was working on swapping out my sway bar, when I noticed that my steering box was leaking, and the pully has a small piece gone out of it on the pump. Anyone know what hoses are best?
  15. Yup, that's what I'm planning to get
  16. I've used them on my '95 Ford Taurus and never had an issue. One thing to remember is that once a belt slips for a while it tends to get a glaze to it which makes it slip easier. I personally prefer the prestone belts. They seem to be good quality.
  17. What is required to make a WJ one work? Just thinking newer is probably better.
  18. Ok, thanks for letting me know. Just had seen someone on here swap a '92 booster in, so I assumed they must be a dual diaphragm. I'll just have to go get the right one.
  19. That may be true, but the whole point was to gain some power and a bit of gas mileage. I'm thinking either a new carb, or a rebuild kit for this one will definitely help out. The idea has been floating around in my head for some time of putting a 360 in it though. Maybe after I get my comanche all fixed up and going so I don't have to drive longer distances with this one.
  20. I know there are a lot of threads on here about swapping the brake booster out of a 95, or 96 XJ, but I have easy access to a 94 XJ. Will it work, and is there a lot of other mods that would have to be done, or is it even worth doing?
  21. What do you want to know about it? PM me for more details.
  22. It probably wouldn't help that I run 31's on the truck either, at least for making it less of a dog anyway.
  23. Alright. I'll see if I can get a better carb for it. And yes those doors are massive
  24. They are nice, but can eat up a lot of money in a hurry, lol. The pop up lights look nice, but can be major pain to fix. Leaky t-tops is usually the nature of the beast until you replace the weather stripping too. If you're looking at one, make sure the steering box doesn't rock too much, it's a weak point in these cars. If driven too hard the frame fatigues there and will flex a lot. Some of the cars had extra bracing to fix that, but others didn't.
