I hope everyone get to read this topic before its too late but I received an email today from a tshirt design company that I deal with and they are having a sale on their shirts, 40% off ALL shirts but the catch is this weekend only. I am at work now and can't use company computers to do Comanche club business but when I get off I will design something up and see what everyone thinks of it. There is also a discount for group buys too so hopefully we can all agree on something. I can't wait to start sporting my CC shirt! Josh

so my spring break from college is coming up next week, and a buddy of mine is going down to savannah georgia to visit his girlfriend and asked me to tag along. unfortunatly i won't be driving the MJ :( anywho, I'm looking to hit a few junkyards down there to grab some rust free parts (mainly a red door for my 2000 XJ) so is there any good ones to stop at? ive been looking around and i found a few pull-a-parts in the area but the problem with that is that i have to pull it myself and i won't have many tools with me. i'm looking to find a good door, have them pull it, and be on my way. also if there is any CC members that live along the way down, id love to stop and check out your rides :chillin: Josh

i have seen several MJs at the Akron Pull-A-Part along time ago. there used to be atleast 3-4 there at a time. i grabbed some pretty good deals off of them but they seem to get really mad when you snap pictures of there stuff. plus they usually only keep vehicles for about 3 months then they crush them. so I'm vacationing in cape may new jersey and I'm riding on down the road when all of a sudden, BAM! i spotted a royal blue longbed with black flares and white jeep lettering on the tailgate. i went back an hour later to get a picture of it but it was gone from the house it was at. i was just wondering if it was anyone on here. I'm going to take a walk later tonight and leave a CC card on the windsheild if i don't hear from anyone on here  Josh

the back brakes for now are fine, its the front ones I'm starting to have trouble with. when braking, it pulls to the right really badly. ive replaced the caliper more than once but it still continues to do it. now that i finally have some money to dump into the old girl, i want to fix the front and upgrade the back that way it can be done all at once. my dad did a drum to disc brake conversion on his rally race mustang and ever since i found the how to thread on cherokee forum, ive wanted to do the same to my XJ. its a 2000 with the chryco 8.25 rear end with 33inch swampers and he said since most of my stopping is done on the front brakes, doing the swap on the rear wouldnt make a difference. so just the other day i was browsing the local CL and i found a complete 8.25 out of a wrecked 03 liberty and i started thinking about it more and more but the question is, is it worth it? do disc brakes really help? i have yet to try it out, but i have a harbor freight brand 12,000lb winch. it looks pretty beefy and i got the 3 year replacement warranty for it incase i do ever burn it up. i figured 12,000lbs would be more than enough to pull my ole' ZJ out of pretty much anything. Josh

I'm just alittle curious about how everyone came to find out about the comanche. some bought them new from the dealer and some found out by accident. for me, when i was a youngin (I'm talking 9 or 10 years old) my friends dad had a black sportruck edition. i never knew the name of it until i got older but i always remembered it at "the jeep sport truck" i forgot about it for y thena long time about 5 years ago when i started driving i needed a car i googled "jeep sport truck" and the comanche came up. i didnt know anything about them but i found one at a dealership and i remember it like it was yesterday. it was a silver pioneer edition that was 2wd with a longbox and a camper shell with red interior, and the worst part......it was a completely rust free 92.... i passed on the opportunity because i didnt know how few and far between the comanche is anymore and i was looking for something 4wd  if i could go back intime with all the knowledge i have today i would have had it in a heartbeat. so whats your story? Josh

Getting the MJ painted. Opinions?

are you talking factory grey as in this: by the way, where did you get the white gauges for your truck at? Josh -
whats your thoughts on the GMC canyon/chevy colorado?
boardmanMJ replied to boardmanMJ's topic in The Pub
I'd really like a newer truck with plenty of goodies and features like the frontier, but ive been searching CL for Comanches everyday. if I end up selling my DD XJ I think I found an MJ that would be a nice addition to my collection. I'll post a link to the ad soon so I can get everyone's input on it. Josh -
if its a factory black interior i would restore it back to the stock look but like mentioned before, do some upgrade to make it handle/perform better. Josh

ive always loved the "turbine" rims that you have on there! Josh

whats your thoughts on the GMC canyon/chevy colorado?
boardmanMJ replied to boardmanMJ's topic in The Pub
the more i play around on the msn autos page i find that the frontier is the only truck that doesnt seem to have any problems with it. my dad was trying to talk me into a ranger but the reliability of the 4wd system scares me. does the frontier have electronic engagement or is it manual like the MJ/XJ? Josh -
if you want something with more cupholders than a cherokee is out for sure, though i love every minute owning mine. its not a comanche, but itll do Josh

whats your thoughts on the GMC canyon/chevy colorado?
boardmanMJ replied to boardmanMJ's topic in The Pub
i never really did any research on the colorado/canyon yet, i just liked the look of them. as far a reliability, that doesnt seem to be a very reliable truck in that case (especially the 05 model year as catastrophic engine failure was a big problem) i think my dad would kill me if i came home with a foreign truck.... i need to start looking for a new vehicle since my DD XJ is starting to go downhill pretty fast (hate ot say it but its true) i would love to get another MJ but it would most likely be a winter truck as soon as my other project is finished and id hate to ruin a perfectly good MJ with the salty winters we have here in the rust belt. if i can get my asking price on all three vehicles i have for sale i should have enought for a decent looking and reliable vehicle. i would like to have another truck thats 4wd but i don't need to gas mileage/horsepower of a fullsize truck. so i found this this colorado thats priced pretty fairly and it seems to be everything that i want. id hate to stray away from a jeep but i absolutly hate the look of the KJ and the WJs are too overpriced around here. atleast if the salt gets to the colorado i wouldnt fell too bad about it since they are pretty popular. but this is what i found: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... dard=false Josh

i by all means didnt lift this jeep. whoever did put the bushwackers on didnt put them on right and the driver side rubs really bad when you turn and it chewed the hell out of it. i was going to level it to hopefully get it to rub alittle less then get a new bushwacker and sell it. Josh

bright orange! that way you can get plates like mine! Josh

the best way for me is to create a photobucket account and upload the pictures to there. once on there, there should a be a "copy IMG code" just copy and past it and you should be all set to post pictures. Josh

i just checked rustys and the 3inch coil springs are out of my price range for now, especially since its going to be going up for sale here really soon. Josh
