  1. I am just looking at what some of you have done for interior mods in your MJ's. I have been wanting to add a ZJ center console, but I am not sure how that will fit. I did not know if any of you have done this or perhaps done something else. I just love to see what people come up with :D
  2. Digging the trailer, sir! It is always cool to see different designs that people come up with! I am also digging the 2nd gen
  3. I have an aw4 in my 88 and an ax15 in my 92. I too am a fan of a manual trans in just about any situation. It has become second nature for me. I get much better mpg's in my 92 as well. Currently 22 highway and no modifications done to the truck. My 88 only got 12 when it was stock. After a lift and 31's I am lucky to get 10. With that said, I still do not have all of the bugs worked out and it could greatly improve in the future. It was sickening to know that my 3/4 ton pickup got better than my MJ haha.
  4. OKay guys here it goes. I have a 1988 Eliminator. 4.0 Renix with an auto. Last week I decided to take it to town to get some things and as I turned on the highway I heard a loud bang and then all power was lost. I crawled out to find the Muffler had blown up. The Jeep would not start after this so I towed it home. Pulled the muffler out and started the Jeep. It ran fine, but then died after about 20 seconds. I smelled raw fuel after. I then pulled the catalytic converter off thinking that it may have been plugged, but I found that it was already punched out and had no restriction. The Jeep will crank now, but will not fire. Anyone ever have this problem or something similar? I have done nearly all of Cruisers tips in the engine bay. Thanks for the help!
  5. Cannot tell you how many times someone has said my MJ was not a real Jeep. Anymore I just have to laugh and change the subject. The majority of those people were either Wrangler owners or did not know enough about a Jeep to even make the clueless remark.
  6. I have owned my first MJ for 3 years now. Since it has made its debut on the farm it has only touched the salt 1 time and that was to cross the highway and get back onto the gravel. I have been lucky enough to always have a DD and keep it off the salt during the winter. We use the Fluid-Film on occasion and it does do about the best job. POR 15 is another product to look into. They have good reviews and a large selection of various products.
  7. Just doing my rounds on Ebay and came across this gem. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Other-Pick-Up-2-437-actual-original-mile-perfectly-documented-1978-jeep-j-10-pick-up-/151467797074?forcerrptr=true&hash=item23442f2a52&item=151467797074&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  8. That is why I want to change from auto to manual. It is hard as heck to find 97+ manual doors. I could do the auto, but I would rather have the fewest electronics and I prefer the basics
  9. Okay, can you put in the new style doors that have automatic windows/locks and make them manual?
  10. Can anyone direct me to a link on how to change the old style windows to the new style? I do not want to change doors out. I would like to just swap the glass and whatever else necessary to make everything functional and manual. Thanks in advance!
  11. Been surfing the internet and I found this site that has new center caps for various stock Jeep wheels. I am sure someone has discovered this, but for those of you who haven't it may be something to look into.... http://www.hubcaps.org/jeep.html?gclid=CIK4yeHRhsECFeJcMgod0VwA5Q
  12. I will look into that if she makes it home. That is something my brother and I have been talking about. Whatever electrical problem there may be it will not be hard to find. And a correction, it is a 75.
  13. So, I am looking at a 73 J10 with the 360 auto. The owner wants a little bit of nothing for it. Clean? Well, there is only one picture on CL and that side looks fine haha. He says it hasn't run in 6 months. His exact words for it not running were as follows..." The strap broke the held the battery and it fell and broke or its grounding out the power wire now. Every time I try to start it the motor won't stop turning over". No idea what to think of that really. Can anyone give me an idea of what may be the problem with it not running? Also, what things should I look for in the truck when I go look at it? Thanks in advance..
  14. Something else to look into is the Wal-Mart special, Goodyear Authority's. 150 bucks a whack and they are pretty good tires.
  15. Attica, IN. I have 2 Manches. An 88 Eliminator and a 92 Eliminator. My brother has an 89/98 conversion manche. Big Jeep guys over here!
  16. That is what I am worried about. I found it to be fairly easy to bleed, but I am concerned that he is hiding something more serious. It would be a good jeep to fix up and then resell, but I would part it out if there was a bigger issue. Ill have to get some more info out of the guy...
  17. I am looking at a 94 cherokee on craigslist. The owner said he changed the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder because they had both went out, but he cannot get them to bleed. He is selling it fairly cheap and I think I can talk him down a bit more. I didn't know if someone could give me some insight on what it would take to get the clutch working again or if it is one of those things you pass on. The jeep is perty darn straight! Thanks in advance.
  18. My 92 Manche has cruise and it does not work. This would not bother me if I weren't running about 65 when my foot was relaxed. I have not done anything to fix the problem because I didn't want to create a headache. If someone has any suggestions or have had a problem where yours was not working I would really appreciate the help. Figured it would make more sense to hear what everyone had to offer me. Thanks
  19. I thought that I would still buy the XJ lift when the time comes and then figure the leaf pack out later. I may regret it, but hell, I'm getting more bang for my buck.
  20. I want to put a small, simple lift on my 92' manche. I know that the rear leafs are different between the XJ and MJ, but I am going with a 3" AAL. It is 10 dollars cheaper to get the MJ lift than it is the XJ, but the XJ comes with lower controls as well as the lift. Now my question is would an AAL from a cherokee work on my MJ? The lift i am considering is from rough country. Thanks fellers!
  21. The tag below the latch inside the door frame is gone....sad its from '91, but it is still a Manche I was after! if you could send me one in a message that would be awesome dasbulliwagen thanks again everyone!
  22. Ill check that out too. I have not been home today to look yet. Really just want to know the month and the day. It showed every sign of being a '92 i just thought that someone could find more about it that I did not know of!
  23. Thanks! can anyone find me some more detail about it? or direct me to where I can get more info?
  24. Alright everyone I have become the proud owner of another Eliminator. This time it is a 92. I was hoping someone could tell me what i actually have. The vin is 1J7FJ66S9NL155779. Thanks in advance!
  25. I have not been able to get on the computer lately. Thanks for letting me know what you guys have though! I'm interested in anyones offers and time is not a huge factor. If anyone knows what it would be to ship and what they would want for the glass that would be helpful and then we can go from there. Ill do some looking myself. GirsMJ86 Blue XJ
