  1. Don't worry, her fat a** gets about 6 cheeseburgers per mile, assuming she could travel that entire mile without assistance from 600lbs of toxic Prius batteries. I don't see the Burger King people complaining about the size of her Mayonnaise Footprint. Maybe she should look in the mirror next time she's trying to figure out what's wrong with HER life.
  2. Yep, that's the first thing I thought of when I looked at it. It should match the width of the MJ butt end. But I think that could be easily remedied. Functional, simple, good looks, stout, and affordable. I think it's a winner. I noticed that too, just figured they were trying to keep it from being a tree grabber off road. The problem with trying to make one bumper to fit everyone is that's a tough mark to hit. I agree it's a winner! But much as I like it & the price, it's not a good fit for what I need.
  3. OK, which one of you bought this?
  4. Thank you to Nates for offering this  and at a very reasonable price! I really like that he went with a blockout strip on top Though I think it could look cleaner if the receiver was under the bottom, instead of centered though mounting it lower would eat up some rear ground clearance Also, its tough to see if the mounts wrap under the frame like the stock mounts or not: Either way, Thanks to Nates 4x4!! A real MJ bumper for less than the price of a FEY universal bumper
  5. Didn't some Earth First type environazi's burn a lot full of Hummers a while back? Nothing says "Save Our Environment" like a parking lot full of burning tires & plastic.

    funny

Great, OBlamer toilet paper it won't do the job it claims it can it'll blame all it's problems on the last roll then try to trick you into buying 4 more rolls
  7. She's the only hog I see in that video. My favorite part is the look the little kid gives her from the bed of the truck, like she's waiting for the fat b**ch to get within smacking range. :rotf:
  8. Don't idle your Diesel truck near Prius owners, they get mad  WARNING-LANGUAGE: Prius owner swears repeatedly lol enjoy CVdMySWfAIQ
  9. Also on DSL getting 2.50Mbps down .61Mbps up I checked because it's seemed slow lately.

Maybe they only do this to non-members, but inserting an ad into all hyperlinks is a big turn off for me. You click an external link someone posts in a thread, and they send you to their advertisement page first. No thanks JF.
  11. Well the Chrysler (AMC) Kenosha engine plant is getting liquidated Is there so much manufacturing here in America that we can dismantle & sell off entire state of the art facilities like this? Link to liquidation/auction PDF: http://www.maynards.com/media/component ... P_REV4.pdf For anyone that didn't know, this Kenosha plant is the one that had built our 4.0L's, and AMC V8's years ago. (tooling for those is long gone now) Check out some of the equipment being auctioned in the link, what a shame to kill this plant. Only question left is will the stuff will end up as working equipment in China, or scrap in China.
  12. Couple more on 37's/Q's (back when it was 2wd & yellow)
  13. MJ was set up for Q/78's, I got some used 37x13.00's, and swapped them on. Please don't pity the poor D30, it was just for fun, and the Jeep never even left my street like this: since I'm blowing the dust off old pics, why not: Here's the current MJ with the 37's on the back, and Q78's up front (Q's = 35.5", worn 37's = 36.25"): & lowridered an inch or two:
  14. Just realized I never really answered the question (how many miles will they last) My first set of TSL's were used 31x10.5's. The guy said they went 20k miles on his Bronco II They were evenly worn (not the guy's first set, so he got tire pressure right) I added 3-4k more miles, then passed them on to someone else, They looked about the same to me (almost to the wear bars, evenly worn across the whole tread. I got a pair of 33x14.00" Boggers next ($175 ea brand new in 1996. :ack: ) DD for maybe 8-10k miles(couple years), till a spool swap made them SCREAM around every corner. They were trail only on the MJ (and later an XJ) after that. I always watched the street pressure, they probably have ~12k miles on them now, guessing 3/4 (evenly) worn, and really really old. Trail only 33x12.5" TSL's went on the MJ next, and they still looked new to me with 3-4k miles when I sold them to get Q78's. Not much mileage on the Q's (& used 37x13.00 Boggers I got for the rear), since the MJ has been a driveway princess for a while now. :wall: I gone through atleast 5 sets of Radial Mud tires during that same time, if I stuck to TSL's all the time, who knows how many sets that would be  If you do daily drive them, don't overinflate them. It can smooth out the highway ride, and help gas mileage, but no one wants 10k mile tires with awesomely deep side lugs, and racing slicks in the center. :dunce:  Also, make sure your suspension/shocks is up to handling the extra tire weight. A scolloped-unusable 10k mile tire also a very sad thing. :(
  15. For a true daily driver, I wouldn't do it. I've daily driven on reg bias TSL's & Boggers. They wear on pavement like human flesh, so it's just a waste to roll on them every day. Unless you figure the tire pressure right, you'll get strange wear patterns, and when you need them for the trail, they'll be semi worn at best, funky-worn at worst. Either way, less effective. Or even worse than that instead of just funky wear patterns you end up with serious scalloping, and cupping, ruining even the highway ride to & from the trails when you really need them (and killing them, even as 'trail only' tires) Yep, scalloping & cupping can make TSL's even worse than that first day you installed them, and thought a pack of helicopters was chasing you ;) The other bad thing about TSL's on the street, Bias TSL's can be loud enough to mask other things wrong with your Jeep. Unless you have awesome ears, you'll never notice that wheel/axle/transmission bearing noise daily driving on TSL's, until it leaves you stranded somewhere. Personally, my most enjoyable DD setups have always been having a set of decent Mud Radials (TrXus's, BFG MT's, etc) that get swapped out for TSL's and/or Boggers for serious trails. (leaving the mud radials on for quick runs, or short notice trails) Even though it is NOT a good idea to mix Bias & Radials (says so on the sidewall of every tire :smart: ), just swapping the back 2 tires for Boggers has also worked well for me. That way I could bring the two other mud radials with me as spares. For a few long rides to trail runs, I brought a pair of Boggers with me in the bed, and swapped them out at the trail head). When I stopped using my MJ as a daily driver, the TSL's went on & stayed on full time. Even after a bunch of trail runs, they were still nice enough to re-sell when it came time to jump up in size.
  16. Maybe not, but if I had $57k to sink into a TJ, the stock axles would be the first things to go. I hope it sells, but $57k goes a long way when buying someone else's used Jeep build. :dunno:
  17. A decent $500 4.0L Comanche is rare :D ;)
  18. Makes me think 2 things: Someone will probably buy this For $57k(immediate deposit of US $500.00 required), it will not be me. :D
  19. Yeah, the muffler *should* be sized to fit the tubing inside the flange. If it's not, an alternative to adapters can be a tailpipe expander, I bought one from Harbor Freight a few weeks ago for ~$8, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. 25 years ago I needed one for an engine swap, and rented a high quality tailpipe expander from a tool rental place, it worked awesome, and I was able to stretch pipe sizes enough to overcome a problem like this without using adapters. Hopefully the cheap HF expander will do the same the next time I need it.
  20. What do you need to know? Don't believe the first gear spec everyone seems to use, like 3.39:1, or something. I've had 4 BA 10-5's, the early 87-88's I had were ~4:1 first gear, the 89's I had were ~3.75:1 When my 4wd 10-5 finally died, I grabbed a 2wd 10-5, swapped the 4wd output adapter in place of a 2wd's tailcone, then cut the output shaft down to fit. (2wd output shaft is splined all the way down to the speedo gear location). The later 3.75 10-5's seemed more durable than the earlier 4:1's, I changed the gear oil often, and extended the breather tube to keep the pukey from puking gear oil at highway speeds.
  21. Thanks..... No build thread so here you go: (Sorry for all the pics.... but you asked ;) ) Ft & rear bumpers were 4" C channel, the back was simple, Cut the 4" C channel to fit chopped the factory bumper brackets to fit inside the channel plate the bottom of the stock bumper mounts, to take inverted tow hooks, and give me more to weld to burn it together (I also a pieced a small chunk of steel on each side above the bumper mounts to bridge the gap to the top of the C channel). then put some D rings on the bumper face, inline with the hooks. (tow strap goes through D ring, and grabs the inverted hook, never had had a strap pop off with this arrangement) Later on I added some receiver tube to the bottom, and extended that all the way to bolt to the factory 'frame' X-member. Then I chopped the sides/mounts off to use for this: Not completed yet: 4" C channel ft bumper on old MJ (sides taper back more than it looks in this pic):
  22. Saweeeeet!!!
  23. Wrangler bars make good Ghetto cages, I cut the down tubes off two, and connected the dots for a ghettofab special on my last MJ: Probably would have folded like a Taco, but it made good monkeybars to mount stuff to. Nice grab by the way. I love MJ's on Boggers, even if they have D35's ready to snap like toothpicks.
  24. Best Excuse Ever! (Go Rangers!)
