Thanks guys,I kinda through in my swap to the original ? when I read about the linkage.I have an 88 X.J. doner allready for my 89 conversion,It came with a hi pinion non cad D-30 AW4 and NP242.I allready have the front and rear (3.55) axles under my truck.Done the axle swap first so I can remain driving my truck untill I have to get the driveshaft shortened as it's my D.D.I still have to pull the Trans. and T.C. and install once my backs up to it.I encouraged the boy with the 91 to buy a doner X.J. Everything he needs will be there(except rear driveshaft).All the nuts bolts wires hoses ect.I noticed there is a set or holes on the tranny hump of the X.J. for the T.C. linkage thats not on my 2wd. M.J. I don't know how one would even know where to drill them if you just gathered up all the parts.Around here you can buy a good X.J. with a bad motor for $400-$500.A bad motor tells me the rest of the drivetrain should still be good.Just trying to keep it cheap and simple for him.Will be looking for a 91-95 X.J. Trying to help out a new C.C. member.Ran into a young Comanche owner (SAKI 19) shortly after I bought my Comanche,Now he's thinking about converting to 4wd. if it can be done simple and cheap enough.He has a 91 4.0 Automatic What would be the best year X.J. doner for the conversion.I know a 91 4.0 4wd,Automatic would be the best but what other years would work as far as being the simplest and cheapest swap.I know to stay away from the Renix years but what other years after 91 will work.Thanks

Go to the classified forum,Look for SMS Headliners,I recomend him.He will sell you the material or a complete headliner.You can also send him your visors and he will do them to match if you go with the complete headliner.I believe the material only kit also comes with enough material to have your visors done locally.Not sure how close it is to original it is but my brother bought one for his 91 and everything was perfect.Fast and good price,That will be one of my next puchaces for my 89.

Don't be scared,I work at the Loretta Lynns Ranch in middle Tennessee,We have a lot of big events there with lots of people attending,I'm approached many times and ask if I would sell mine,I tell them all that I'm not interested.On the other hand I also stop at any I see and ask them If it's forsale.Not necessarly for me but since I bought mine all my buddys wants one.That's how my brother got his 91 Comanche.I saw it parked at a park and ride place.I put a note on the windsheild,About a month later the guy called me.Take it as a compliment.

Got new carpet for the Comanche,Pro comp extended sway bar links,Euramtec pillar lights,84-91 X.J.--M.J. Chiltons,New battery charger,Misc. tools.

No they don't tilt forward,Still have access to behind the seat with the slide feature of the bases and the small amount of recline in the seats.Seats were removed from XJ when they were new,Couldn't pass them up for $65.00 they are in mint condition.

P.O. of the seats said they are out of an 94 X.J. The shifter knob is a Drake Billit from Essential

Got my buckets and console installed yesterday.

I am converting to 4wd,I will be replacing a 5 sp. to a AW4 auto. The truck and 4.0 engine is an 89 and the AW4 is an 88, Does anyone have a part number for a pilot bushing for that swap.Thanks

I'm swapping in an 88 AW4 into a 89 5 speed truck. Will I have any trans. controller issues,I really don't know what one is.

T.C. is a 242.Looking for some new ones,Re doing my interior to like new,Buckets,Full console,pwr.windows,locks ,mirrors,new carpet,headliner,visors,tilt,cruise,I have the old ones but their not in great shape but the rest of the console is like new.

Changing out my console to a full XJ console also doing a 4wd swap with a AW4 and NP 242. What I'm looking for is a supplier that sells new shift bezels. Not exactly sure what their called,The slotted plastic insert that the trans and T.C. indicator shifter thingy something or other gizmo.

What I'm looking for is new shocks to fit a 2" budget lift without paying $50-$60 a shock.Kinda defeats the purpose of a budget lift.I'm needing new shocks.Advanced Auto list stock MJ shocks for around $25 ea. When you add 2" lift to the conversation their computer throws you up to the $55-$60 range.Stock ZJ shocks are back down to the $25 range,I'd like to get them at Advanced Auto do to a 20% off coupon I have.But now the above responses has me confused. Did I read somewhere that stock heigth ZJ shocks are good for MJs with a 2" lift, Any certain year/model ZJ? Thanks in advance.

What's wrong with the ones on Ebay $36.66 free shipping. Ebay # 301423902080 The rubber corners are pretty cheap also if his old ones are bad.
