How do those wk2s hold up ? I really really think they’re a phenomenal looking Jeep

I was able to get a lot done today thankfully. younger me really put this off for way too long. It’s so nice parking this beauty and not seeing an oil spot under the pump. old pump was leaking pretty dang bad. Still gotta replace the oil soaked lower radiator hose. wire wheeled the pump bracket. new pump all together with new pulley replaced idler pulley while I was at it. Also threw in an engine mount while I was at it. Old mount was really bad. all buttoned together. nice shiny new pump and when everything was said and done I went and gave the old girl a wash. Noticed on the test drive exhaust was rattling pretty bad. Looks like it’s hitting the crossmember. I’m guessing the engine is sitting uneven since it’s got one new mount on one side and a old worn out one on the other side. . I’ll change the other mount when I change the oil since the oil filter has to come out. Pretty happy with everything I did today

Got the carpet back in and all the interior back together. Just gotta install those center console brackets. Cleaned up all the interior plastics with some soapy water and a magic eraser. Pics don’t do it justice. It really worked wonders. nice new to me carpet is in. Going to eventually get those seats re done.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I really appreciate it. After doing research it seems like Napa and autozone both sell the spectra. Not sure about oreilly. My local Napa had it for 160. I ended up buying it at autozone for 112$. Also got the 20$ reward after spending over a 100$ which is awesome. Can’t wait to get it in. I’m currently awaiting for my 97+ heater hoses and 2.5 overflow bottle to arrive

Yeah I think I might go with the spectra , how are your engine temps ? Any difference?

How’s it going guys ! So the radiator on my 88 has started leaking at the left corner. So I decided I’m going to swap to the open cooling system. I’ve been doing research and was wondering who has bought what and what worked and what didn’t. I don’t mind spending a little extra if have too but nothing to crazy... I just want something that will cool just as good as the oem and will last. Another thing I want Is the bung for the radiator fan switch since this is Renix. So far I see some people have used spectra premium radiators which I am heavily considering . I see that these already have the bung for the fan switch. For those that have used this radiator , how has it held up ? Another radiator I'm considering is the ff dynamics radiator that don hornbrod (rip) had used. Anyone have this in there rig ? Also I don’t do any crazy wheeling , this my dd , it’s stock , 235 tires , 4.0 , manual transmission , a/c isn’t used If that matters Any input is appreciated, let me know what you have used and how has it held up !

A few days later and the chassis saver and seam sealer is hard. also replaced the snapped parking brake cable new (to me ) carpet is in. Not bad for 10$ gotta trim it from the back since it’s from an xj

Finished prepping the floor and got the first coat on.

Finally got the old vinyl out. floors are extremely solid. Only found two tiny pin holes. Waiting for my chassis saver to get here to coat the floors now. I’m also waiting on my parking brake cable since the old one snapped many years ago. old vinyl flooring pass side was a little scary when lifting the carpet up but not bad at all. Most of it wiped away with brake clean After a few minutes with the wire wheel This was the worst of it Drivers side is super clean

Awesome , you mind updating once you do it ? I’ve been wanting to change the fluid on my ba10/5 (which is why I bought the sockets) but I couldn’t decided on what fluid to use.

Yes it is , it’s crazy how much of a difference it made

Got the carpet cleaned up. Super excited to put it in !! Just waiting on my e brake cable to show up so I can replace the broken one

What gear oil do you plan on using ?

Yes it should be , I bought these off amazon. It comes with a 10mm and a 8mm . The 8mm fit perfectly

Yeah , pretty cool find. I’m thinking it didn’t come with a rear bumper either. It has a aftermarket fey bumper. Pretty cool finding out what kind of history this truck has

The only reason I was curious is that it seems like the original radio harness connector is still there. Someone at one point added wires for the front speakers and tapped into the factory harness to add a radio. it also seems to have dealer installed a/c and it never came with a mirror on the right. I also found this today when I was repairing some of the po’s previous wiring. looks like a license plate lamp behind the bumper.

Is it possible if I could get a build sheet , please . there seems to be evidence that this was at one point a very bare bones truck. I think it never came with a rear bumper , or a radio , or air conditioning. It seems like all of these things were added later on.

Also scored big at the jy a few days ago. Can’t wait to swap these parts in. Poor xj was mint but had the 2.8 engine.

Sounds good , I plan on talking to them about it today. I really don’t want to push this back. Despite this little spot this wj is incredibly clean. It’s odd that this is the only spot of rust on the car. Maybe someone at one point took good care of it and all it took was for someone else to let it go. thanks for the advice Pete.
