True I've passed up many Comanches due the price ,but due to the I price I got this one for I'm not complaining

so here's the story, was at AutoZone and a lady came in asking who's Comanche was parked outside, so of course I said it was mines. she said that she had a 1989 jeep Comanche 4.0 5 speed long bed 1 owner for sale. so I asked how much and she said 1000$, only problem was that she said its was leaking fuel. so I went today to see it, it has 115,000 original miles with a rebuilt tranny and new clutch, body was in good shape but the paint was crap. didn't get to start it due to crappy battery ,but it was trying to turn over. interior was pretty bad shape too. I liked it, so I negotiated and lowered the price down to 750$. overall I'm pretty happy about it, so I'm picking it up tomorrow ill post pictures here once i get it . :thumbsup:

turns out it was the tps , I put a new one from bwd and started it up and high idle gone :thumbsup: :thumbsup: . thanks for your support guys :thumbsup:

do you think that cleaning the throttle body might of messed it up , I cleaned the throttle body 2 weeks ago and it was running perfectly until yesterday .

cleaned the grounds and still high idle :doh: :doh: ,do you guys think the napa tps or the oreily tps are any good :???:

yea It does starts and drives just fine but yea your right It didnt feel like how it normally does hopefully I can find a good tps at the junkyard later

alright thanks for the info , so I went and disconnected the tps and started the jeep up and it idled perfectly so I went for a drive and it all went good, the only thing I noticed was that the shift light won't illuminate anymore is their any problem driving it with the tps disconnected, in the meantime until I get new one :hmm: :???: :???:

well this morning I went and started up the jeep and when it started it started idling like crazy the rpm's went to about 2500 rpm so immediately shut it off :???: . do you guys have any suggestions on what it could be, I don't have a lot money either to be replacing a lot parts too . :dunno: :dunno:

yes its 2 wheel drive and it has the Peugeot 5 speed

I had a mechanic do some work on the tranny and now I dosnt work but I work perfectly before .

hey guys its me again , anyways I have a question ? what could make my speedo not work I alreay checked the gauges and they work just fine any other suggestion on what it could be , if it helps I have a 4.0 and a puke goat tranny

pretty sad though first they ruin they ruin the cherokee name and now this , I really have no faith on the next gen wagoneer oh well atleast I still got my Comanche.

I doubt that could be the problem because the clicking had just started like a week ago and also I have 1 year old jeep wrangler sport rims and tires w/ a wheel spacer and don't think it would be scraping against it but you know any things possible .

no it's 2wd so no u joint , going to get it checked on tomorrow

hey guys I'm new too the forum so bear with me ,so I just wanted to share my mj its a 1987 comanche base with the 4.0 I6 pukegoat 5speed and a dana 44 rear end .

how do you know ?? also is that also for 2wd models (not alot of knowledge on cars :hmm: :???: )

anybody know what could be causing a weird clicking sound while driving.??
