If they are not to far I will drive and pick up. I live 20 miles south of Fort Wayne, In.

Looks good and thanks for the write up. I ran them on my 67 Fairlane when I drag raced. I also like the idea of putting struts on.

I am in need of a gas tank for my 89 MJ. It is a 2WD,short bed with a 2.5. It started to leak today so I need one quick.

Are the valves on a 2.5 adjustable? Mine are making a lot of nosie when I am driving it. You can feel the back ones on the valve cover when it is idling. Can not fine anything in the Haynes repair manual.

Gauge and trans question
pitbull4x4 replied to pitbull4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I will have to ask again what year it is. The sticker under the hood says 2.8. Will these gauge's work in mine? As for the 95 gauge's , how much do people on here pay for them? -
I picked up a set of gauge's out of a 95 XJ with a 4.0 in it. Will these work in my 89 Comanche with a 2.5 in it? I also found a set in a 89 XJ with a 2.8. Would this be a better choice? Also would the trans out of the 89 XJ (4WD) work in my Comanche when I go from 2WD to 4WD?

Need help with ball joints
pitbull4x4 replied to pitbull4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I got the ball joints from NAPA the lower ones have snap rings. Does the ones in it now have them? Will I use them on the ones I put in? The guy I got the tool from said, start with the lower first. Then the top, to take them out. Is this the right way? Thanks for the info so far. -
I need to put upper and lower ball joints in my 89 Comanche. I have looked for a write up on changeing them and nothing comes up. I have the tool to take them out and put them in. But what I need is how to do it. If someone has this info. with pictures that would be great.

I don't care for the Advance Auto in our town. I went in to get some stuff. And they told me that Comanche's only come in 4WD. I said mine was a 2WD. They said NO they only are 4WD. I said well than, it was had for me to drive there in a 2WD that never came with a t-case, no front differential.

Coil Spring and shock question
pitbull4x4 replied to pitbull4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the info :D -
I just got a set of stock coil springs for a XJ that I am going to put in the Comanche. Comanche has a 2.5, XJ had a 4.0. #1 Will putting these coils in only get me to stock height of a 2.5 or will it be higher? #2 Will the front and back shocks out of the XJ work on the Comanche?

Get the steering wheel. I want one like that.

Yes, the lights worked in the other Comanche. Opening and closeing doors, lights stay on. Light switch on dash will not turn them off. I will check the door switches and dash switch again. I cut the wires on the other truck off so I would know which way to hook them up in this truck. I asked the Pitbull and she barked. I don't speak barking. If someone does come and help. :rotf: :rotf:
-
The lights are the ones from Advance. I checked the wiring and it is right. Where do I go from here? :dunno:
-
When they come and do mine.  I dream BIG

I know a question about dome lights again. But mine is Bass Ackwards. They stay on all the time when I try to put the lights in from Advance Auto. The old ones did not come on at all and would not stay in. The new ones stay on with the doors shut and will not go off with the light switch on the dash. Where do I go from here?

I am in need of a set of stock front coil springs. They are going in a 2WD 89 Comanche with a 2.5/auto. The cheaper the better.
-
I forgot about them haveing a dash tag. No it does not have one. Is there a indent on the glovebox door for it to fit into? Is there any other way to tell without finding the other owners? Could you buy a front air dam in the aftermarket, that looks like the ones on the street comanche? Fiat, yes I did it and just said it was a 89 Comanche
-
I picked up a 89 Comanche. It looks like the front air dam is a "street comanche". I looked on the comanche site with the vin decoder and can not make heads or tails of the numbers. Hear is the vin--------- 1J7FT36E4KL438220 I would ask my Pitbull but I don't understand barking. :rotf:
