  1. Wow?! How did you accomplish that? Just put insurance on mine and it is costing an extra $75 a month. Honestly has me thinking if it is worth it to have third vehicle.
  2. Looks good. Any chance we can see some daylight shots?
  3. My cousin did that while I was on a parts run. He said there was some metal but nothing beyond normal considering the mileage.
  4. That's good. Hopefully that transmission lasts for a while, but just prepare yourself for eventually replacing or rebuilding it. Did you drop the pan and change the filter? Willy Yep. Did all the normal maintenance items ie trans filter, crankshaft main seal, oil filter o-rings, etc. If it needs replacing no issue but at this point it is shifting fine. Pretty amazing what an aw-4 can take.
  5. Yes, we installed the engine/trans as a package. Both engine and trans seem to be running/shifting great!
  6. Update. I have been driving it for a couple weeks. Wire wheeled a couple of rust spot and painted em. Now I notice a couple more! Overall shot Rust spots 98 Engine and transmission in place. Compared to the XJs drives much more like a truck. Wife prefers her 2wd Toyota! Brakes a little weak you go to make final stop. Not sure if that will change or is just how it is. A few noises I need to track down too. Much more road and vehicle noise than the XJs. Not sure why.
  7. FREE shipping?!
  8. So he cut the XJ boday at the firewall?
  9. Daimler sold Chrysler to Cerberus a couple years ago. I guess Cerberus is scr3wed.
  10. Look at the angle shots. Seems to be a definite break in the body line between cab and bed.
  11. I am all ears. I have factory radio and speakers and would love to improve on them wo spend too many bucks!
  12. Is it just me or is the body line a different angle on the cab than the bed?! I am betting on a cut weld job!
  13. P.S. If it is Dell and you don't have the reload CD I can send you one free of charge. I do rollouts on occasion and the companies never want the CDs left behind. As to fat32 vs NTFS if you have some DOS apps I would stick with FAT.
  14. With a good back up, reformatting is the way to go. After you do a reinstall and have it set up the way you want make an image of it so if you ever have issues again you can painlessly restore it. Use Ghost or Acronis True Image to make the image. Any questions let us know so we can help. :wavey:
  15. Brent There are a lot of steps to properly cleaning a virus. Generally you start by turning off restore points, installing/updating the programs you are going to run, then booting into safe mode before you run them. If a rootkit has been installed it will be very tough to get 100% clean. A format/reinstall will get 100% clean but you will be starting from ground zero. Anything you save and reload could reinfect the clean machine. Anything I can help with just ask.
  16. Ain't that the truth!
  17. I would try a restore point but not a huge percentage that it will work. Some anti-viruses actually use the restore points to hide in. Have you tried rebooting into safe mode and then running Spybot and Malware Bytes? Have you identified which viruses are in your computer? Has it had a rootkit installed? If you are not too up on PC cleaning it may be time to nuke and pave. :wall:
  18. I wouldn't pay over $500 even that might be a stretch. I would think $300 would be a git it gone price imo.
  19. 91. Haven't tied the cruise yet. :D
  20. Wondering what other small trucks might have same size beds so I can hunt down a used canopy off craigslist. Chevy S-10 perhaps?
  21. I got a 98 engine/trans from Willie for $150. Got it installed and running great. Had to splice the line going into the trans and do some heavy duty cleaning of the injectors and intake. There was thick carbon build up. I would guess the previous owner did a ton of short hall driving. I am going to run it this way for a couple of weeks before launching into the rust spots.
