  1. Please be sure to grab that '92 and '86 VIN. Those are the most important, as I am looking for the last made, and shelbyluvv is looking for the first. Thanks! Rob
  2. I'll be there bright and surly Sat/Sun morning. Planning on picking up some Por-15 stuff for the frame prep, and anything MJ that happens to cross my path. Wade, was it you who bought some Por-15 or knock off stuff? Who else might be attending? Just Wadearino? Rob
  3. Just find out where he took it and see if you can pull parts off it before it gets crushed. Probably be cheaper and easier to not deal with a flaky seller anyway. Rob
  4. This is the second time someone has done this... The last thread died after we pushed for proof of VIN or Pic of the door tag. Until I see proof, I ain't believing any more of this. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... =3&t=29163 Proof? VIN? Rob
  5. I know this will upset a few guys who are looking for this... But... Called on an '86 that was destined for the crusher, and found it at the recycling plant, awaiting certain death. It was one of 4 cars, and was supposed to be crushed until I called on it. Its most likely gone by now. Anyway... We all know what the draw of an '86 might be. '86 Badges, interior lights, tails, AMC 20... and of course, the ever searched for black interior. Well, I did it again. The seat, although black, was horrid. The back was all torn up, there were holes all over the bottom near the back, and it was so soiled in the middle you couldn't see the pattern. Add a timeline until they closed, I had to leave it behind. Dash was cracked over the cluster. The tails were both destroyed, but I grabbed the lesser of the two for the couch. Got all the black MJ stuff, interior lights, seatbelts, and ran out of time. The badges were already gone. I also picked up a woodgrain bezel and the upper door panels to match out of another JY just to have them, they were only $11 for the set. Keep my options open for when I get finished... Maybe the black with the darker '94 Country woodgrain might fancy it up a bit if I ever get bored. Might sell it too if I need the coin. Rob
  6. 1986 Jeep Comanche X 2.5L / AX4 / D35 Build date: Illegible Current Location: Rockford, IL Status: Owner junked it because it wouldn't run without pouring some gas in the throttle body. Gave up on it. Found his ad on CL, he had already turned it over to the yard. By the time you read this, it will have probably already gone through the shredder. Notes: Pretty rough and beat up. Well worn interior. Black interior, cloth bench. I removed all MJ specific black interior parts, minus the bench, which wasn't worth grabbing. Mini console was tan, and painted black. Current owner: Forest City Recovery, Rockford, IL Another soldier lost boys. Rob :(
  7. X 1.21 Gigawatts. Rob :brows:
  8. I tried searching in vain, but someone here (I had thought anotherjeff or jpnjim) put in a ford CD player, and other than the little oval, it looked good, and semi factory. Pics: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0611892016 Rob
  9. Looks like someone put a Dakota tail in the MJ. You should go back there for the interior. If it had buckets factory, it would have a factory MJ black center console, plus, I would grab all the MJ specific black interior stuff. I can't tell you how many members have contacted me on getting the black stuff I have. Rob
  10. Yep, and being an add on, that looks like its going to cost a small fortune in parts/labor. It should sell great. Rob :ack:
  11. Additional uses may vary. Rob :D
  12. If by sick you mean Anemic, then yes. That would have been sick. While cool, rare, and different, the Diesel was underpowered (85ish Horsepower) and expensive to repair. Good mileage, but thats about it. Rob :D
  13. I had a couple members PM me with $20 offers to the cause to save these decals for Spencer. Anyone else interested? Don, could you get him down any? Rob
  14. I've been planning on blasting and prepping the frame for chassis paint, but recently tossed around getting the whole darn thing soda blasted. I called a semi-local guy, who has a two man operation. He quoted me high at around $1000-1200 to do the whole thing. Being a bit more than I was willing to spend, I asked about just doing the Engine bay, undercarriage, and frame rails. He said that should be able to be done with just sand, and that it wouldn't take long at all. He said it would be $300 on the top end. I'll ask about doing the cab floor and bottom edges of the doors too. He should make short work of that. Sold. With living in a subdivision, I planned on doing it in the side yard, and making a mess. That's cheap enough, I'll have no mess at my house, and it will be a nice professional job. I don't even think I'll give this a second thought. He's not mobile, but I plan on towing it over to his shop to have him prep it for me. After that, I plan on following the same steps 87Warrior did on his frame with the POR 15 and Chassis coat. Swap meet is coming up, and they usually have decent prices on POR 15 stuff there... I should be able to load up. I want to do the whole engine bay, hood included, inner fenders, cab floor, under cab, and the rear rails. It should look awesome. My boss is getting pumped about painting it, and is sort of making it a point to get it done. It's been a long time since he's done a job like this, and wants to use this as a platform to show everyone he's still got it. And, since everyone likes pics: The Cover is Off. Stay tuned. Rob L.
  15. I wonder if Spencer would be interested in these for us... I can't say I need them, but I would like to have them re-produced so that future MJ'ers have a chance to use them as the Eliminator decals have lived on... Anyone interested in buying them for MJ resto purposes? Or even a group buy to send to Spencer? Rob
  16. I am a big fan of the BDS longarm setup. Rob
  17. This is tempting Don... I have long been a fan of the HO Pioneer decals... Rob
  18. I would get a 12 Gauge for home protection for the intimidation, and the less likely chance of the bullet going through 3 houses... But I only have one gun, and thats the Mosin-Nagant M91-30. Its super accurate, simple, and a very nice unit. Rob
  19. Figured that would shut Rob up. Anyhow, I found a NOS set of 91-92 Long Bed Eliminator decals for about the same price as Spencer's repos; will be here in a few days. In the meantime I'll puzzle out how to "Loose the swoosh!" w/o the need for a repaint. Suggestions welcome. How the hell do you fall into all this stuff all the time? NOS LWB Eliminator decals? You hiding stuff from me? What are we not bro's anymore? Rob :dunno:

    Meh?

Few months back I picked up some tail light guards for the ZJ off CL. They needed some paint, so I sanded them down, then hit them with some grey primer and some black satin. Finally got a chance to paint them and today I put them on. I am not a big fan of the way they mount, since it puts the "arms" they attach with in such close quarters with the paint. I put some 3M molding tape in between the body and guard tab, but they still cut it close to the hatch... I don't know if the look of them outweighs the way they mount. Anyway, for your viewing pleasure: Keep 'em or ditch 'em? Rob :dunno:
  21. Clutch master syndrome. Rob
  22. Wonder how close a Dak convertible top would be... Hmm.. Rob

  24. I'll be doing this myself soon also... My boss is an old body guy and has offered tools and help. just for kicks, I wanted an estimate done, and actually just got the results today: One California fresh MJ, normal scratches and dents. No trim to tape around whatsoever. No interior, no drivetrain. Just a roller ready to go. Paint will be bright white, base/clear. $3,974.26 + tax. Yep. Doing it myself. Rob :D
  25. There was only one color/combo offered from the factory according to the manual Joe: 4636 350-1, TAPE PACKAGE, Bodyside, Silver/Charcoal The silver wouldn't show up for moi. Also the damn red swoosh on the side has to be removed from my truck, and I'm afraid I'd have to repaint if I removed it. Ain't chancing that just for some decals, much as I like them. I hear babies cry because they are afraid of change too. You only live once! Loose the swoosh! Rob :D
