It might have been. I am learning more and more about it as I go. I think it was ordered for dealer stock, because while it was built in 4.92, it didn't get sold until Oct 30. Weird cut sheet though, since it has the skidplate package, but one thing I thought was standard, lighted vanity mirrors, are absent. I mean, how will I adjust my hair without a mirror on the visor? :D That was one of the first things I changed. I had one laying around, so it went on as I was putting in the radio. Rob L.

Yep. Thats what I have heard them called also. Thats the Reverend. I bought it for a song from a pastor of a church(hence the nickname). I never met him, just his wife. He was really sick the whole time we were dealing, so I communicated through her. Extremely nice. They had it listed on CL for $1000, and as a '91. When I got there it had the regular 4.0L badge, so I knew different. Ended up being a '90, so still an AX15, but no HO. Took it for a drive, had a bad miss, so I told her I didn't want another project, nor did I want to insult them with a low ball offer. She said that I was the first to call, and they were holding everyone else off until I looked at it (took me a week). She told me they wouldn't be insulted, so I tossed out $200, and she went back in to talk to her husband, and came out with the title. :D Rob L.

Well, the CC unicorn has changed hands. The late build date, 1992 Hunter Green Metallic Eliminator has a new home over here at my place. Wade (89Eliminator) is going to school full time, and needed to get a DD that was more economical for the driving, and not so, rare? So he gave me a call and I adopted it. I know there was a couple guys asking for pics of it when I got it, so I just ran it through the wash, and took it out to the local weigh station to snap some cell phone pics. Enjoy. And it at home with the REV, and The Surrogate in the garage. Got to love that Midwestern rust. :( Luckily, while it was in Wade's possession, he replaced and when through it, and it now has new floors, rockers, cab corners, pioneer speakers, fuel tank, fuel pump, spare rust free bed, tailgate, SWB rollbar, decent factory step bumper, and a host of other items he took care of. Thanks Wade! Air is cold, heat is hot, its durn quick, and drives great. Plans for it are the 1.5" OME coils in the front to level it out and help with the ride, put the new bed on, and finish the body work, a respray of the Hunter green metallic, some stickers from Spencer(Woot!), and some black wheels with some 30" treads. Other than that, leave it alone. I mean it is currently the only Green Eliminator known at the moment, and very close to last truck by our records. (4.24.92, the other is 5.3.92) All in all, I am excited to have it, and can't wait to fix it up right. Rob L.

Thats a good idea too. Rob L. I believe I will try that as my next step. When I pull the distributor don't I have to adjust it back? If so how hard is this? If you are new to this, put get the engine to No. 1, TDC. Mark the location of the rotor, and make sure you put it back just the way you took it out. The gears are helical, or slanted, so it will rotate a bit while taking it out, and while putting it in. The oil pump drive looks like a flat head screw at the bottom of where the dist was. You can take a long screwdriver and cut it off, and chuck it up in a drill to prime the oil pump. Once that is done, you may have some difficulty putting the dist back in, as it rotates with the helical cut of the gears a tad, and has to drop into the pump drive at the same time. I just did this and took pics for a write up on Tuesday. I don't have time to upload, otherwise I would. It took me about 10 minutes of turning the pump drive a hair and dropping the distributor in a few times to get it to line up right. BE SURE NOT TO ROTATE THE ENGINE WITH THE DIST OUT UNLESS YOU WANT MORE HEADACHES! Rob L.

Eliminator Sticker Measurement?
Automan2164 replied to over2land's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Indeed they did Don. Black, Grey mist metallic (the darker silver), Bright white, Colorado Red, Dark Cordovan (purple), and in LATE ORDER '92's only, Hunter Green Metallic, and Midnight Blue Metallic. Rob L. -
I love these things. If I wasn't spending so much money on my actual MJ, I would be building one of those. And never say never, they did make an MJ at one time. I have one right next to me. No, it isn't for sale, and I am looking for another to build right. Someone already cut mine all up. It looks good and all, but I want an unmolested one. Rob L. :D

Eliminator Sticker Measurement?

Decals really aren't too hard to put on. I would suggest calling a local body shop and seeing if they can show you how, or put them on for you and let you watch how its done. If you don't want to do that, Don was looking for a set. I would love to put them on, but my truck isn't ready for them. Rob L. -

Thanks Bob. Every once and awhile, I have a decent idea. Rob L. -
I'm with you Darren. None of those XJ bumpers really did it for me. Rob L.

Eliminator Sticker Measurement?

I think it would be cool to have the hockey stripes at least, and the font style for the "Pioneer". It would be cool to put the stripes back on, and customize what it says underneath. None of the trucks I have would get a set, but who knows. I change trucks like I change boxers. I just always liked the stripes and think it would be cooler with "METRIC TON", "LAREDO", "COMANCHE", hell, maybe even one that says "ELIMINATOR". Rob L. -
Haven't heard back. I have emailed numerous times. Guess they just haven't pulled it out yet. :( Rob L. :dunno:

Almost forgot. Made the news. Local paper was doing an article on Public Works departments picking up the slack from the economy. The paper came and interviewed my boss about steps we take in the maintenance dept to keep up with our older fleet. Since now we don't have the money to replace things that should have been years ago. I'm the dude working on the squad car. http://ssm.nwherald.com/northwest-heral ... the-fleet/ Here's the actual article. Decent read. http://www.nwherald.com/articles/2010/0 ... /index.xml Rob L.

I would just call over to JCR, and see if they would make you up one, and tell them you don't care about what size stock they use for the hitch. Tell them you will make due, since they were pretty much the only ones helping us out. Rob L.
