okay thanks jeepcom I'm looking at 2 jeeps as donors for a 4wd swap (this thread was only for if i couldnt get them) one is a 4wd 5 speed xj that was rolled and the other looks older but 4wd i think 5 speed and i think 4.0.and it owuld be free as some one left it in the woods for the last 4 years by there house then moved out.

how would it be harder there isnt any wiring to deal with ar anything

would a before 97 xj 4wd be ax15 i may be buying one for parts

I'm planning next summer to put a 4.0 in my originally 2.5 comanche. i was wondering if the 4.0 would bolt up to my ax5 and if it is just a bell housing problem if i could switch bell housings. or if it would be a better idea to switch the ba10 in insted.

i have a chevy silverado 1981 292 straight 6(not factory swapped in) and an auto tranny. but ive got one problem ive got no reverse when its cold. it will sit and rev untill you warm it up a little bit and then it still slips reall bad. anyone know whats goin on?

HAHA, you think that's cold? I'll drag you up to WI one of these days. Two winters ago, it was so freaking cold for a few weeks, that when it got up to -15 one day, it felt like summer. Then again, I wear shorts all year long. I think I own two pairs of pants. nope, I'm good. you would have to knock me out and tie me up to get me to go there in the winter :yes: I'm a wussy when it comes to cold. x2 you can stary in WI and freez fast ill stay in canada and frrez almost as fast

weve established that it doesnt seem to be stock AW-4 was never behind the 2.8 AX-15 was never behind the 2.5 in a Jeep. That was a Dakota thing.
