Nice Truck! Man that thing looks clean on the outside. I like those wheels on there too! Much better then those stock steelies

Thats exactly how my brake was as well, would hold it going forward but not if the hill went backwards plus it went all the way to the floor. I recently put all new hardware and the adjuster thing and now they work Awesome! And I only have to push it maybe a few inches and it holds! I would recommend replacing the brake hardware.

I just put a set of these on the back of my manche, they are 31's. I was running BFG AT's which I really liked, but now that I have these on there I Love them. They are a Sweet tire, but they make a good amount of noise. They also ride a little rough under 10 mph but anything over that they ride smooth. Also my guy that mounted and balanced them hardly had to use any weights to balance them! I'd say if you don't mind a hum and you get a deal, go for it! I love mine and am watching for another deal to get a pair for the front. :brows:

Project "Black Betty"
DodgeFan01 replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Dang, that looks like a decent rig! Why not fix the front end and sport it! -
Man that thing is nice! X2 on the column shift, it looks kind of awkward to to me but I guess thats because most I have seen are on the floor. :dunno: I even like the look of those Ravines with the black. I wonder if they did a cheap spray can job or if they had it professionally done.

question about grand cherokee
DodgeFan01 replied to DodgeFan01's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is there a better option to throw in there? Or is it just a bad year GC and not recommended to purchase? Adam -
Hey guys, I found a deal on a cheap 95 grand cherokee limited but it says it has a dead tranny. I'm assuming it has the 5.2 since it is a limited and it says it has full time four wheel drive and an auto tranny. My question is do you know what transmissions come with the 5.2 and how common they are? I would love to pick this up and just throw a junk yard tranny in there, but I don't know which one to look for. :dunno: Thanks for looking, Adam

Nice Pic! Happy belated birthday! Did you get any money to buy things for your truck? :brows: -
Nice hoses! Where did you get them from?

I just did this last week on my manche and the outer seals were placed with the flat side facing outward. I didn't do that part myself, I had my local 4 wheel drive shop press the bearing off, replace the seal, and press a new bearing on, so they are the ones that made that call. I didn't pay much attention to how the manual said to do it but I will look when I get home.

Question about axle seals
DodgeFan01 replied to DodgeFan01's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Cool, then I guess the old Chiltons was right. That should be easy enough. Thanks Cheyenne -
Hey guys, so a guy at work is sick of working on his cherokee and is thinking of selling it. It is an 86 4 wheel drive with the 2.8 and auto tranny. :ack: He says it doesn't run and he thinks it is the fuel pump that went out, but I don't want to put too much weight on that as I don't think he's very mechanical. I am going to try to get him to let me tinker around a little with it. He also says the 4 wheel drive doesn't work, says it won't engage, and he thinks its a vacuum issue as it used to work then he had a rebuilt tranny put in it and now it doesn't work. All in all it looks like a descent 4 door cherokee and I wouldn't mind having another 4 wheel drive around. He is thinking he just wants a couple hundred for it, I'm thinking of offering him 200, what do you think?

Hey guys, I was redoing the drum brakes on my 88 manche and when I pulled the drum off the drivers side I noticed gear grease all over, it is obvious that the axle seal is done. I looked it up in my manual and it says I just need to undo the 4 bolts holding on the backer plate and then attach a slide hammer and go after it. It is a 2 wheel drive 4 banger manual 4 speed, so I'm guessing I have the 35 rear? Anyway, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm in for as I have never pulled an axle shaft before, any advise will help. So there's no clip inside the pumpkin on the shaft? If I get it pulled, should I replace the bearing as well? Should I do both sides? The passengers side looks good, no sign of leakage but I don't know if it's better to do them both at the same time. Thanks for listening, Adam

I hear ya, I would still pick that truck up! It's so clean. Of course, who knows what lurks under the carpet!

Nice Job! I really like that light bar, makes the truck look tough  You'll have to let us know how bright those lights are once she's running.
-
Nice looking truck, that thing looks very clean. I don't know if I could drive a purple comanche though. That looks like a nice trailer you brought her home on too.

I like that Jeep sticker on the back window, pretty badazz

Lol, my wife had one the first year they came out, I believe it was 2002, and man that thing was a gas hog. Other than that though it was pretty nice. My mother in law has one, I believe an 07, that she bought brand and that thing does better on gas than the wife's old one. It is pretty nice and I know she hasn't had any issues with it at all, I hate to say. In conclusion, I would use the gas milage downer to sway her toward a Lib.

Sounds like a cool project, basically an extended cab comanche. That thing looks way too clean to be cutting up though! :( -
Huh, my comanche is a sport truck but my 6th number is 6. Are they the same(sportruck and eliminator)? :dunno:

Sweet, sounds like a dream deal!

Nice find! My only question is why did they park this thing that long ago and box it in? Something wrong with it?
