Don't care much for your newest pet, but my GF loves 'em. I do like your other pet, though! Zeke likes the snow too, as he should, since he was bred for this kind of weather. He says hi. Someone needs to tell him that snow is cold and laying in it for hours on end will give you frostbite.

Comanche of the Month, Jan 2011 --- $500MJ's 1988
terrawombat replied to Automan2164's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Congrats on ROTM. I still hope that one day I'll open up my RockAuto order and see your MJ on the magnet (that was you, right?). -
Well, if it was broken, you should request upgrades in the form of titanium rods, screws, and plates. We build up our trucks with stronger parts, why not build our bodies, too? :D
-
IMO the 20's don't fill thoes big wheel wells enough, and anyways I'm not goin to go into debt for a toy, gotta pay my house off first and get my mj up to par. do the really have srt8 police????? :help: :rotfl2: Yes. I'm the chief.
-
I will send the SRT-8 police to your house to confiscate it from you. I won't allow you to have one if you're going to put 24's on it.

I have been chipping away at my Jeep wish list for a couple of years now. 2006-2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 (can't afford at the moment) 2001 Jeep Cherokee - Last year of the XJ (got one) 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited - Last year of the ZJ and limited edition (got one) 1992 Comanche - Last year of the MJ (got one) 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - Last year for these (still looking) 1983 Jeep J10 Honcho - (kind of looking) Some others I would like: CJ-8 Scrambler (had one but sold it in 2000) M715 (love these things) M35 or M35a2 (just because) I'll start building them once I have all of them. Each one would have a different build as they each suit a different purpose.

I get 1 or 2 a month that hobble into my yard to die. Being that I live right in the middle of about 1000 acres of farmland, the deer come in droves. Couple that with no streetlights anywhere on my road and things get a bit hairy. I've only hit one in my 10 years of driving, but have had dozens of close calls. My township is extremely lazy about picking them up, though. You call to notify them that there is a dead deer in your yard. They go on the defensive and assume you've shot it illegally out of season. Then you tell them it was hit by a car so they send a guy out to spray paint an orange X on it. Several days later someone will come by and haul it away. Not so bad in the winter, but the summer is pretty nasty. Their bellies bloat up, they stink, and the vultures rip them apart. Also makes our dogs try their hardest to escape from the backyard to go and eat the remains.

Jake - are those your real eyebrows?

Very believable. My GF bought a nice pair of genuine leather cowgirl boots for something like $275, which was $75 more than I paid for one of the vehicles on my list. It would have been a lot more skewed had she not bought those. They'll probably outlast any one of my vehicles, too.
-
It should only do that once a month for about 3-7 days. Be careful, though, because the truck will be a real B*TCH during that time.
-
When my GF first started dating me and eventually realized I buy at least 3-4 vehicles per year, she became concerned that I was spending my money in a wasteful manner and brought it up several times that I ought to settle down and budget my money better. I guess the thought of buying multiple car/trucks - large items that are often perceived as expensive is what set off a red flag for her. At the time, it was unknown to her the condition and price I was paying for said vehicles (typically $500 or less). Instead of arguing with her about it, I asked her to compile a list of shoes she had bought last year and the price for each and total that up and I would do the same for my cars/trucks. The difference between her list and my list was about $300 (I spent a little more). Once I put it into THAT perspective, she stopped questioning my car/truck buying habit.

The guy had the right idea, but came off way too pompous. Scrub his back, wash his hair, wash him off? Is the BF a quadriplegic? My GF has only stepped foot in my shop once and it was to see it for the first time. She doesn't have much interest in what I do down there, but would be willing to help if I asked, but I never do. I've come to accept it and I've often thought of how it would be if I had a GF that was always there with me, helping me wrench on stuff. I feel like her and I would get under each others skin and it would be TOO much time spent together. Plus, by her not helping me out all the time it gives me a great excuse to cop out of going to her clothes/shoe buying escapades.

Ha, what'd we get up to when we tried to artificially break the record?

And bass bumpin' tunes. Big pimpin' in the Hyundai :D

Curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to do a little more research on your PCM reflash. I looked up the old recalls for these trucks and found that recall 831 (which appears on the larger of your two stickers) is described as follows: So, you being a CA resident, your flash was for emissions stuff. My vehicle never stepped foot in CA and I also don't have the larger of the two stickers you posted anywhere in my engine bay - it's supposed to be near the VECI label, which it is not. I still think that my flash may have been the "death" flash.
-
That'd be a start.

I dug this image up that is supposed to be a '98 Elantra heater box assembly: My main concern would be that the vacuum connector displayed on the above picture is either disconnected or not properly connected or there is some sort of vacuum leak on it.
-
On a '98 Hyundai Elantra? I doubt it. I'll see if I can dig anything up on the HVAC system for that vehicle.

Any valves on the the heater core lines under the hood that could be cutting off flow all flow to the heater core? When the engine is running and is up to operating temperature turn your heat on full blast and feel the heater core lines under the hood. Feel them up by where they go into the firewall. One of them should be hot. The other should be a little cooler.
-
Might not need to pull the whole dash back out, but maybe enough trim pieces to gain you access to some of the wiring so that you can see if there is an obvious problem - like a disconnected wire. You say you have no heat, but is the blower motor running? Are you getting anything at ALL? Cold air? Or nothing? If the blower motor isn't running at all, sounds like a wiring/fuse issue. If the blower motor is running, but you don't have hot air, sounds more like a mechanical linkage issue. I'm assuming that because this is a Hyundai there is either a mechanical linkage or a vacuum operated switch that regulates the airflow around the heater core.

Thank you. I'm pretty stoked to now own a vehicle that actually came with those wheels from the factory. Also, do you have any idea what the P/N is on the center caps for those wheels? As you can see, I'm missing one :D Ya I'm missing a couple myself, I don't know the part number(which is mostly desired for the matching color) but they are the same caps as are used on the eccos, grizzly's, icons etc. Even KJ centercaps will work. Popped one off last night and wrote down all of the numbers on the back of the cap: 5DY07 885PA66 25544A Pretty sure these are it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-Cherok ... ccessories Cept they might not be the right color.

Seems like "the pub" is the best place to post new pub tech
terrawombat replied to 91coMANche's topic in The Pub
Beer snobs are annoying and derail threads. Excellent invention. I have yet to see one of these used anywhere, but this would significantly increase the speed at which the beer lines move at sporting events. I've missed too many touchdowns and big plays because I was standing in an ungodly long line trying to get my beer between quarters!
