Spence is the man! I had him do a custom sticker for my MJ as well. I only have the proof that he sent me: He also threw in a few extras at no cost. I'll definitely be doing business with him again in the future and I recommend him to everyone and anyone that I can. And yes, I plan on installing a 5.9L Magnum in my MJ.

LOL. This one got me last year so I was prepared. I deleted all of my current alarm profiles and made new ones...except I set them all for 6:30PM. I can never win...

Project "Black Betty"
terrawombat replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Makes sense now. I may have missed that detail earlier in this thread. I was curious how you were going to get the ZJ PCM to talk to the '86MJ cluster -

Are you still going with the stock MJ interior on this? -
This is true. I'll take a look at my longbed and see if there's anything I can do to strengthen the sideplates. But not now...there is a monsoon outside...

Hey, did you know the title of this thread is spelled wrong. Took me a while to find it in my Gmail search engine :D I got bored tonight and took the night off from other projects so I did some measuring. Then I cut out this: And I got some 3/16" and 1/4" plate. And I should be picking up a much larger air compressor this weekend. And I should be picking up a mill. And I fixed my z-axis on my CNC plasma machine. Definitely moving in the right direction...just need a cleaner, dryer supply of air, but I've got an idea :D

MJ w/ Commander front end??
terrawombat replied to johnny quest's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You are wrong. The picture that Sir Sam posted is a Commander, not a Liberty. Sir Sam performed some trickery! -

These headlights aren't my cup of tea, but your install looks a lot cleaner than the rest of the ones posted in this thread. Nice work! -
I've got CreditSecure through my AMEX credit card. I think it's $11.99/month but it doesn't give a whole lot of information - just does a soft pull on your credit. Shows me my score and any recent credit alerts, but won't go too in depth.
-
I dropped 12 points with the hard inquiry pull from my new credit card.
-
It was a 35 cent toll that didn't get registered - maybe they didn't really care? But they went through the trouble of mailing it...to the wrong address so I didn't see it until a few days before it was due hence why I called to get it taken care of ASAP. Otherwise I would have just filled out my ez-pass info and mailed it in. I don't even think I have that ticket anymore... My score went down, but there are no negative remarks - just three alerts (one from each credit bureau) stating that I opened a new credit card account with Discover.
-
This kind of worries me because I got a ticket from ez-pass because the scanner didn't pick up my receiver. Called them up and tried to pay it, but they had no record of it. Don't want that kind of crap to cause my credit score to take a hit.

Diversifying your debt is GOOD for your credit score. If you have a credit card, a bank loan and a mortgage and you make the minimum payments on each, your credit score is supposed to improve. Doesn't matter if you are paying out tons of $$ in interest, either. I have three credit cards and a bank ATM card. Two of the three cards currently have a $0 balance - third card has an outstanding balance, but it's a 0% interest card until next March, but I still pay off a sizable portion of it each month (WAY over the minimum payment due). I have no mortgage and no loans on anything, yet my credit score just went down. Why? I dunno. Because I opened a new card? I haven't applied for a new credit card in over 3 years. I know your credit score will take a hit if you apply for too many cards in too short of a time period. Oh well, I'm still low risk. I've heard that after a certain credit score number (around 790 or so), it doesn't really matter and you'll get the same rates as someone with a perfect credit rating - which is another mystery in itself - some people say 830 is perfect, while others claim 850.

My credit score just dropped 12 points because I got a Discover Card. Don't really get it... These tickets you speak of...were they traffic tickets? Parking tickets? Concert tickets?

Thinking out loud here... If I were you, I would do some home-made wiring. You'll need to run three power feeds to the drivers door. One for the windows, one for the mirrors and one for the door locks. Then you'll need to run two signal wires from the drivers door to the passenger door for the windows. Then three additional wires from the drivers door to the passenger for the pass. mirror (yes, it needs three wires). Then you'll need to run two for the door locks. Now, the 97+ XJ doors also show that you need power to the passenger door locks, but it may have something to do with the overhead console and remote keyless entry.
-
Well, what you described IS how the 97+ XJs are wired, there just happens to be a whole heap of other crap in there too! I honestly don't know how the earlier XJs are wired, but I think I may have the FSMs for those at home I could peak at. I've never personally seen the interior wiring for an XJ prior to 1997 so I can't speak from first-hand experience like I can with 97+ XJ stuff.
-
Different how? The functionality of the power door locks/windows/mirrors may be the same conceptually between pre and post-97, but the wiring is certainly all kinds of different.
-
Oh, the 97+ harness certainly does some "crossing over" but the harness is massive and there are a ton of items running through it for various different systems. I haven't yet been concerned with this particular portion of the XJ interior wiring harness for my XJ/ZJ wiring project I'm doing with my 5.9L powered Comanche so I don't have a good shot of it, but here's a picture of just ONE of the harness plugs you'd be dealing with - the gray plug in the upper part of the picture is the one I'm speaking of: It's a "two-way" plug in the sense that you've got multiple power wires traveling one way feeding the drivers side door switch and then you've got signal wires traveling the other way going to other parts of the vehicle to control the rear doors and front passenger door stuff.
-
The 97ZJ wiring is vastly different as it uses a driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) and has connectors for each of those, but I guess it may still work for his application. The XJ is a pretty plain-jane wiring system for the power windows/locks/mirrors. According to the wiring diagrams there are no relays that I can see - just couple of fused, switched power leads to the drivers door power window/locks/mirror switch, which is then distributed throughout the rest of the vehicle to the other window motors, door locks, and passenger mirror. Now, if you're looking for some kind of separate wiring harness for all of this, you're out of luck. The wiring for these components are all part of the main interior wiring harness that goes from the passenger kick panel junction box, over to the massive C201 connector near the middle of the dash and over on to the gray C200 connector on the drivers kick panel. Are you going full 97+ interior conversion or just the doors?

Classic2Current Floorpans
terrawombat replied to huntinandhopin's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Where did you place your order at? I bought mine through RockAuto.com on 3/1/11 at 7:30PM and had them on 3/4/11 at 12:00PM. The box said 'Classic2Current' on the front so I assume they came direct from the manufacturer. According to my tracking info, the package originated in Livonia, Michigan. -
I'd love to see your 1992 MJ spreadsheet, Rob :D
-
Bah, figured as much. Oh well, guess I'll just suffer through the endless scrolling when I'm on my phone :D
-
Uh oh - you're gonna put Rob on a wild goose chase. This could be one of the last MJs that rolled off the line...
-
It's clear you've got your mind set on rebuilding one of these so I guess we should be focusing on finding you a quality rebuild kit. I won't be of much help because any time I need to fix a broken AW4, I replace it with a used one. Rebuilding transmissions is just too expensive for me to even consider it.
-
Because your '92 has to run and drive.
