  1. My GF will only get the Casio G'Zone phones because she's pretty wreckless with phones. She had the first G'Zone (forget the name), two Boulders, and now has the Android-based smartphone one. The flip phones were always complete garbage. She sounded like she was talking to me through a tin can every time she called. The software was buggy as hell and randomly, one day, it stopped recording missed calls. I was so glad when she went into the ocean with that thing and it died. The new Android-based smartphone one she has now is actually pretty decent, but the battery life is awful...and it's a brick, but at least it has the Android OS on it as a saving grace.
  2. Took me a while, but I got Zeke to only eat when I gave him the go-ahead. Doesn't help much that my room mates dog didn't get the same sort of training...so you still need to keep a close eye on your food. Now, if I can only figure out how to get Zeke to stop pooping in my house when it's warm out. Damn Nordic breeds only like to go outside when it's cold :D
  3. My dog went after a newborn calf the other day. He got his but whooped by Mama cow. Dog didn't learn his lesson though as he went after it again this weekend.
  4. I've been keeping an eye on his build. Him and I are at similar stages in our conversion and it's always interesting to see how others go about doing things.
  5. Seriously...when you're in NJ, drop me a line. I see you're going to Blackwood...I'm not far from there.

    Ravine $ ?

    Ah forgot about the moabs...
  7. Nah not really. The A pillars are the same shape on the XJ and MJ, just don't have the same mounting holes. I measured the location of th side mounting brackets in the XJ before I pulled the dash and made sure it went back in the same location when I put it in the MJ. The center support bracket can also be used as a good reference.

    Ravine $ ?

    It's gotta be the silverstars
  9. Congrats Pete. When's the next wrenching gathering?

    Ravine $ ?

I would say $250 is a good price for a full set (5, not 4) of that style only if they are truly in perfect condition with no rock rash, chips, or aluminum cancer. I picked up a set of 5 Ravine's for $400, but two of them had brand spanking new Goodyear tires and the other three were around 50% tread. Personally, they're one of my favorite Jeep rims.
  11. I robbed you of all your luck this week. This has been an incredibly lucky and productive week for me. It's not quite over, either...can't wait to see what good fortunes I stumble upon tomorrow. I'll be sure to update this thread to rub it in.
  12. Also forgot to mention - the engine that's sitting in the MJ right now is gonna come out for good as it basically needs a full bottom-end rebuild. The thrust bearing on the crank was chewed up on one side and it also chewed up the crank. So, the crank would need to come out and I'm not sure if it can be salvaged. I may talk to my machine shop to see if they can rework it at all. Maybe turn it down smooth and get an oversized thrust bearing? I'm not sure, but if it needs a new crank, then that basically means I'd get the whole engine re-worked. Don't think I have the funds available for that - since I'd get all forged internals, stroke it, and get some dished pistons for a lower compression ratio so I can raise the boost. Then I'd probably get heads, cam, roller rockers, etc etc...you can see where this is going and it equals $$$. For now, I'm going to drop the 5.9L engine from my donor ZJ into this since I know that one runs well. Should be good enough to get me by until I can save up some money for the stroker engine.
  13. Dash is in. Just need to drill two holes for the center support bolts and weld some nuts on the backside of the transmission tunnel. Going to do the center console and e-brake next. Then I need to modify the firewall on the drivers side quite a bit. Patch old holes like where the fuse panel came in, clutch master cylinder and a few others. Need to relocate where the steering column passes through and a couple of other odds and ends. It's getting there...
  14. Is he in Philadelphia (or near there), PA?
  15. The only other Comanche guy I've seen/talked to is already on here (mjnjtj). There's a bunch of kids that have Cherokee's that always hang out in the local convenience store parking lot where I'll normally go to pick up a sandwich. They always stare at my Comanche, but the only comment they've ever made to me is, "you should cut the doors off that thing."
  16. It's not that simple. Output shaft lengths are different.

  18. Did you ever get down to the dealership that did the tuning on your rig? Still curious as to what they used to tune the thing.
  19. My '88 LWB (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21973) is an Olympic edition and there's at least four more I know of on these forums, but this one has got to be the cleanest one I've seen yet. Nice truck! It just occurred to me that the Olympic editions only came in red, white, and blue...duh...makes sense!
  20. So what all did you guys get done?
  21. I wanted to use the stock location on the 99XJ dash to bolt it to the A-pillar. I would have had to drill a new hole in the side dash bracket above the factory hole (well, it's more of a hook) and that would have interfered with a dash wiring clip. Plus I thought it would be too cramped for me to get my hand up there to thread the bolt in. Pics of the XJ factory A-pillar dash mounts... 22. FYI - 100-110 PSI compression is LOW.
  23. Interesting. I didn't realize it was a bolt-together kit. Although that kinds of takes more away from it, in my opinion.
  24. haha - yea...I've taken it out at least two dozen times lining everything up. Luckily the windshield on this truck is out so it makes it 1000000x easier.
  25. My Craiglists search consists of finding ANY of the following words, "comanche, commanche, commanchee, camanche, cammanche, cammanchee" Half the reason I want to e-mail people instead of calling is because I want them to send me a picture (or more, higher resolution pictures). There is really no sense in wasting each other's time if the vehicle is not something I want. A good picture or two can usually tell me within seconds if the vehicle is worth pursuing or not.
