  1. damn, alright well i guess my best bet is to pack everything up and sell it. I just hate for somebody else to be screwed also, but i have to get my money back
  2. kit came with control arm drop brackets that you have drill into the frame and use self tapping screws to hold them in, and for the spring setup, they gave me 3 inch springs with 2 2in spacers and 2 1 inch spacers, and you stack the spacers and springs. they also gave me an adjustable track bar and shocks and i think thats about it. I'm thinking I'm still going to need a drop pitman arm and extended brake lines
  3. Alright so i got a Rocky Road Outfitters 6 inch lift cheap, finished the rear which was easy, now i started the front, so far I have it torn down. After realizing how the front is suppose to be lifted i figured that i might want to go a different route for it. So for those of you who have lifted comanches, how did you guys end up lifting the front, without using control arm drop brackets, which is what i have? also cheapest would be the best since I'm low on funds, and long ar, kits aint cheap
  4. i wouldnt get it but thats just me, if you look enough you can find one for the same price with less miles, even if it costs a little more than that i personally think it would be better,
  5. yea i know thats why I'm using his cherokee before it goes of to the junker, only thing I'm missing though is going to be the tranny and transfercase, which i might have already found one, but from a 92, anyone know if that would work,
  6. I'm doing the same thing only I'm using my buddies rolled cherokee for the interior, i need to get the body parts from the JY, which all i need now is the doors
  7. alright man, thanks alot guess I'm going to make a trip to the dealership tomorrow. thanks everyone for your input
  8. buy the screws from the dealer? can't i just use any screws, i mean i already have the new CPS, i just lost the screws when i replaced my clutch and had the tranny unbolted for a month, i just need to know the dimensions of the screw and thread pattern that i need
  9. thanks everyone, I tried using extentions, but they kept popping off. and i have a torque gun, so i think i can get the cross member bolts out in a min or so, I'm going to try lowering the transmission just a tad bit
  10. ok so i couldnt figure out why my comanche wasnt starting, then after learning a thing or two here, i realized it was the CPS, went got me a new one and as I was taking out the old one when i figured out why it wasnt working, stupid me put it on backwards and used a different bolt that doesnt work for where its suppose to bolt in. So what i need to know is does anybody know what size bolts hold in the CPS to the bell housing? and also anybody have and good advice or tips to put it in, turning a wrench a sixteenth of a turn sucks
  11. yes they will fit i have some in mine with my bench seat, they work just fine
  12. also anybody know if the driveshaft from a longbed would work better, because i know where one is in a junkyard
  13. well I'm suppose to be getting a dana 44 from a local member, and right now i have a dana 35, so i guess that kinda works out,
  14. what about an add-a-leaf
  15. alright man thanks alot,
  16. It says 6 inches but it looks taller, i don't know my angles , i will check on that and post it here
  17. ok so i used the rockyroad outfitters lift on my 89 comanche (4x4 swb standard), and after i finished the back i realized that my driveshaft stuck out of my transfercase about 2 inches. knowing that would happen but didnt realize it be that bad and my kit did not come with a transfer case drop. so is there a driveshaft from any other car that would work, such as a long bed comanche, or a 2wd comanche that would be long enough to where it won't stick out of my transfercase. and i havent been able to drive my comanche but anyone know if i would have driveline vibes and should i do a SYE?
  18. well that makes more sense now since my comanche has 93000 miles, and its probably never been changed
  19. yea i didnt know what it was till today and i already hate, why jeep decided to put those damn things in beats me, thanks pete for the pic, it helped me a little bit more, and i think now after seeing that i think i did break it, time to go spend some more money, is Oriellys a good source for these things
  20. Ok, the reason i was going to lower the tranny was so i had better access to it, i wasnt going to unbolt it from the block, but ill try to work with it without lowering it. When i put the tranny back in i did put the bell housing back properly. Yes i do have the sleeves on the block, and i did remove the CPS from the bell housing completely because i pulled the tranny completely out from underneath the truck and i remember bolting it back to the block. When i pulled it I didnt do any banging, just prying and pulling. and i did use the orginal flywheel. so just to be on the safe side since these are known to go out whenever they feel like i think I'm just going to replace the CPS.
  21. if you don't mind me asking how much did a new CPS cost you, i might just replace it
  22. no worries i found a pic of it and found it, and it is connnected, but I'm thinking to lower the tranny back down to make sure its in properly positioned right. and i had friends come over and help me out, and one of my friends was the one who took the tranny down while i did other things, and he wasnt with me when i put the tranny back, so i put everything back to my knowledge, and having my friend talk me through a couple of things(sounds scary but i had another friend who was there to help me out)
  23. thanks yea the fuel pump does run for a couple of seconds when i turn the key, and yea i do have fuel going through the fuel injector rail, ill check the CPS real quick, this might sound stupid but just so i know what I'm looking for anybody have any pics of the CPS
  24. So my comanche has been sitting in my garage since december, getting a new clutch put in. finally after procrastinating long enough, i finshed it last week. I bolted everything back together and plugged all the connectors in. But now it doesnt start, i can turn it and everything it just doesnt run. So my buddy and i checked into and found out its not getting any spark. Thinking it was the coil i replaced it, and guess what no spark. Any ideas?
  25. no i didnt know, i need to check that out, and yea i knew ive seen the camper one around here somewhere,
