Comanche dually
johnny quest replied to Comanche County's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
yea its been through here before. and before this gets lost in the "omg"s, let me say this: anyone willing to pay $2800 for a comanche with a salvage title is on drugs. yea, the dually flares and wheels are rare, but take those off, and youre left with a stock longbed comanche with a salvage title. idk bout whereever youre all at, but thats a $500 truck tops, plus another $300 for the dually bits -
finally got the stupid taillight/blinker issue resolved; ended up being a combination a handful of bad bulbs, a few bad fuses, and a bad socket. I'm glad thats finally taken care of. also, got to puttin some rock lights under there last night. fronts are done, mids/rears will go on tonight or tomorrow. might do a quick shakedown, and then its off to Moab first thing friday morning; hitting the road around 5am to get there for a late morning trail run, maybe Hell's revenge? and then an afternoon run up something, and Fins'n'things night run :brows:

don't have a link, but just saw that the current owner (Mel Wade of Offroad Evolution) is selling the truck for $6000. mentioned that its got a pair of trussed dana 44s and a 4.7 stroker. from the current pics, its also got a sweet set of beadlocks and a trick lookin bumper mounted spare carrier, (i know there was a writeup on that at some point).

Purchasing a vehicle that was bought back from insurance
johnny quest replied to johnny quest's topic in The Pub
the vehicle (according to the seller) had minimal damage. all cosmetic. I'm tempted to pick it up for a winter driver. -
Purchasing a vehicle that was bought back from insurance

IAAI? -
Looking at a vehicle, and according to the seller, the vehicle was bought back from insurance, and while it currently has a clean title, it will have a rebuilt title once the new owner titles it. Is this different than a salvage title? How does he currently have a clean title if he bought it back from insurance? Has anyone gone through this process? would you recommend doing the same (as long as the vehicle checks out)

$500 '92 near Houston
johnny quest replied to Butchershop's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
"needs some TLC" I'm guessing that translates to: "its rotted out, banged up, bent in half, stalls out, is missing the even gears, and has a broken windshield." -
started with Cooper 37s, but the kelvlar MTRs are 40s. So far, theyve been great, although i don't feel like i ve really pushed them that hard yet. they balance well, and run smooth at highway speeds. offroad theyve been great; only had one issue with some smaller rocks getting caught between the wheel and the bead, and causing a flat, but thats not the fault of the tire.

yea i suck at this intarwebz thing, so in no particular order, here are some pics from the past few months out at 5mile. up American Fork canyon. on the way out to 5mile. denied. again. found another CC member up there, although i can't remember his username for the life of me right now; maybe redcomanche? and DirtEater strapping his front end back in place after he ripped a LCA off the axle.
