getting my drive shaft shortened tomorrow, i measured 50" u joint to u joint needed, this is with the slip yolk almost flush with the end of the transfer case, should i make it 49" for flex? (as in axle sliding in towards the x-fer case while crawling?) or should the 50" be good? will the drive shaft only slide out while flexing? input would be great. -Devon

CLUTCH QUESTION
MancheKid86 replied to firemansteve6921's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
91+ ax-15 requires new pilot bushing Part number pb77 Or pb77hd (heavy duty) Have fun with the bearing, Took me 5 days with recomended ways of removing it. Even rented the proper tool, Ended up using a hammer and center punch. Took 15 mins and was about 6 pieces afterwards but it was way better than spending almost a week trying to get it out. -

finally got that damned bushing out, glad i only had to replace the one ( was missing the sleeve inside) i mentioned machine shop to my step father and he said he could get it out. well he was right, its out :rotfl2: empty hole new bushing (have 3 spares XD) then i beat the new bushing in, used 18" of 3/8 extensions went right in after 15 mins with the BFH all bolted up truck supports itself again  getting closer every day, to do list: install front drive shaft run rear brake lines shorten rear drive shaft tape measure alignment get a new cps drill holes in firewall for new master cyl get stock air box or get 'warm air intake" and get new pcv valve (sat on it while trying to undo the top torx e-12 bolts) i can't wait to be able to drive a comanche again there is NOTHING like it -

It started life as a 1989 Cherokee Pioneer , to be honest after a few brews we chopped it and welded half a reclaimed manche bed and cab to it (6-7 years ago) after numerous run ins with solid objects the first of 3 97-01 clips went on. i always wondered why your sig said your comp rig was a manche, makes sooo much more sense now XD

I'm ditching the rear prop valve, its useless with my soa, lines are pretty rusty and i gotta run some new ones on the rear axle any ways. what can i do to re-do the brake lines? (nothing hooked up in the rear atm just ran to the prop valve) any one do this (pics would be awesome!) this is what it looks like atm

if you don't want to drill any holes into the bed for the carpet, 3m has a brand of double sided tape that will bond anything to anything, so effective they use it for bonding the inside of semi trailers together. -

out with the old in with the dana-44 rebuilt, re-sealed and with a pozi  would have it strapped in and tires on, but the u-bolts that were on the 35 are too short, and all the parts stores close at 5 on sundays :( -

pre-pressurized clutch line came in the mail yesterday :D gotta love rock auto my transmission x-member gave me lots of trouble, turns out the other mounting holes were covered in rust paint and undercoating installed my x-member and the nuts were rotted enough for the threads to give out, out comes the tap + heli coils finally transmission is supported by its own, no more jack next project -
