Headers and other aftermarket exhaust
chunks6067 replied to Brenton's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I went the pace-setter route (had great clearance with the down pipe and my drive shaft), with a magnaflow cat, and cheap flowmaster i found on craigslist. Was harder and took longer to remove the old exhaust system that had 4 cracks on the manifold, and at least 3 leaks on the rest of the system, oh and it was pretty much held on by rust. -
factory add on wiper delay.
chunks6067 replied to jeepsouth's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
so the factory one is off fast and faster? because mine looks factory on the column and has the thing that twists but its speed is more like off, delay(super duper delayed slow - slow), low, medium. doesent seem to ever go fast wondered if it was just a bad worn part somewhere -
got a pacesetter with hiflow cat, and flowmaster. sounds/feels much better than before. I think the old system was being held together by rust

was super excited to have ordered my Dynomax header for my truck, too bad Motion offroad "oversold" them this weekend...

I checked it running on a flat surface after a 15 min drive, and the fluid looked normal color and full, so I'm going to unplug the TCU and see if that makes a difference. It seems like it does it mostly in OD
-
to be honest, sometimes its both, it goes into neutral sometimes, and sometimes down shifts and up shifts at random times i changed my tps about 6 mo ...guess it needs a check
-
1990 automatic it seems to be shifting in and out of gear randomly. Ive checked the most normal things like fluid level and lose wires on tcu uder dash, but I'm at a loss an ideas? Similar to this guys problem http://forums.off-road.com/jeep-mid-sized/188771-1988-jeep-cherokee-4wd-shifting-problem.html Thanks in advance

Just like everyone else, I love the truck  Keep it up! -
I wanted to do this but the PO had already tried to run it in 4wd with a bad vacuum pressure and the collar was not fully engaged and ate most of the splines off the inner half shaft
-
sweet! removing sounds easier than adding. Thanks ill look at your build writeup again as i am sure i have read it once before

electrical Q not on MJ, but XJ
chunks6067 replied to chunks6067's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
How soon is "shortly"? Fully charged battery? about a mile up the road I just havent got back to working on it because of school i think this weekend ill try a voltmeter to get a good reading -
so I'm working on a 95 xj, 4cylinder manual transmission, that has a problem. I first diagnosed it as a bad alternator because it would die shortly after start with a good battery, or a good jump. Then i took the alternator off got it tested, and it was good. i also had the "good" battery tested and it was dead, warranty replaced it then took it to the jeep, checked all the hookups and it worked ran for about 2 days, now i have a bright red battery idiot light on. any advice i would greatly appreciate.
-
well looks like i got some great advice from ya'll people i trust thank you all i think I'm going to go for something with a good warranty, and that can be replaced at a place with a lot of locations, just in case it happens again. hopefully she won't keep the damn car much longer as for the jeep, now thats another story
