Check to make sure that nothing is in tha air intake hoses and filter box like leaves or paper. Also could a EGR valve make that noise? :hmm:

Need help with a shaking vibration problem?????
Redramman replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Could be one cylinder is not fireing or low on compression causing engine vibration. Feel tires for bumps or lumps from belt separation.U-joints, driveshaft, bad shock, lots of things cause vibration although drive shaft will often vibe when slowing down. Mud can unevenly stick to wheels. wheel bearings? -

IDXJ painting it thats not a bad Idea My Son is an art student he could do a grafiti thing, or some graphics,etc... 8) The funny thing is we put up a sheet of cardboard across the headliner bent the ends to fit it up just to keep the cloth off his head and he thought it was cool cause now he could draw on it while waiting at a light. Hmmm another Idea is a local Rat Rod truck has car and truck magazine pictures glued and clear coated to inside roof. -
:smart: Thanks Pete. sombody told me the best MPG mod is a clean air filter and proper tire psi.Synthetic lube might also be worth it.

Thanks, I wonder what would happen if I sprayed backing with primer first so it might not absorb as much resin? -

a few comanche questions
Redramman replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Don"t forget the Hydrolic clutch master and slave cylinders (or hydrolic release bearing) and lines and clutch pedal !!!!And the hole in floor for shifter. Also are mauals the same length as automatic?,probably not so you most likely need differant length drive shaft. -

When we tried to pull it loose fiberboard backing started to come appart.Maybe I could get a scrapper back there or trim it off? Thanks for the fiber glass idea, did you use just resin mixed with hardener or did you put some fiberglas cloth in between wet coats? -

My Wife found add for our Son's truck on Craigs list. Add had no picture, but it was only about 12 miles away.Paid $500 for 2.5 L 2wd long bed Pioneer 065000miles good body,no holes, some surface rust but doors and rockers are excelent.Needs a clutch and some engine work but drives good.Eastwood sells rust encapsulator coating that is better than POR-15 .I've used Dupont spray can bed liner on some spots that my plastic liner rubed down to bare steel and so far that works but it's not much thicker than a couple coats of paint and one can barely painted one side and edges of RAM tailgate at $11 a can (they sell gallons for about $60 I think). -
How many mpg gained with electric fan? How much of a differance will 215's be than 205's? (2.5L 2wd).

Does it creak if you turn the wheels when stoped? Does it creak when truck leans around fast corner? If you are starting from light and going strait ahead and hear creak then it sounds like sway bar, or 4-links busings,or leaf springs rust between leafs or spring bushings. I'd try to locate sound before 4x4 conversion. Also did you paint every thing black under truck ? looks Cool.

I use a prestone flush-n-fill kit in a heater hose don't over tighten the cap on the T for garden hose. I replaced the plastic cap with a brass garden hose cap because I've had problems with the plastic caps top cracking .OR, since rad. is out just wrap or adapt garden hose to lower hose to back flush engine turn on heat to flush that too.

Need more info: 4wd? turning sharp wheels cranked all the way in parking lot,or does it hapen on road right?left?Power steering?etc.........? Grease all grease fittings on front suspension. If grease does'nt help, you could just spray WD-40 on 1 spot at a time to se when it goes away(leafsprings, steering stops).

:jump: OK and Safety tip #42 never work directly over head /body .#43 Face shield. Years a go I got a brake line fitting to hot ,no fire but the loud pop! when the hose blew scared the  out of me :D

just go easy on heat.... I used a propane torch turned down as low so the temp is not nearly as hot as oxy/acetylene and mostly heated the bleader screw itself then cool it with oil.I was actualy more woried about setting hydrolic hose on fire, the penitrating oil did burn off quickly ,probably should have rinsed that off first.I did take the nesessary safety precautions ;Super soaker water pistol (full of water and all pumped up),Fire ext.,and Teenager neer my feet instructed to yank me out only if I catch on fire (I was on creaper to make last step easier).

BTW Thanks to BLHTAZ for info on after market hydrolic release bearing(slave) being bad. Thats something that I need to replace, I was just going to get a "Sacks" brand but will go to dealer instead. What about parts store disk and preasure plate quality??
