Your Thoughts on a Bolt-on SOA kit
Redramman replied to tmmoll's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
An exhaust shop should be able to do small welding jobs.A body shop will too but probably charge more $$ -
I hope your Wife is ok by now and out of hospital.

We used a floor jack (the kind with wheels) and put a small trailer 13"wheel and tire on the jacks saddle to cradle the trans a bit and to gain more height ,a tie down strap might help. Then we lowerd it down enough to slide it onto a creeper and rolled it out on that. I was wondering if the external slave has an adjustment? that could help the problem. Is it posible to put throw out bearing in backwards? or like someone said the fork is not in the right groove or position?.

Any body ever swap in a FORD 302 C6 and T-case ? I have a complete 1981 F250 4x4 and was thinking it would be cool to use it's parts to convert MJ to 4x4. I'd have to get some jeep D44 axles . There is a coustom drive shaft shop 5 blocks away from home so the lengths are not an issue.I know motor mounts or crossmembers would have to be Fabbed or modified. I've seen Chevy 350 V-8's in XJ's ,so what do you think?

Whamm sounds like you fixed it (wire from brake switch to turn or flasher switch)I knew it was not bulbs if hazards work! SKIP (can spell C...) I'd say ground wire to box or some rear bulb socket ground might be the problem with your truck.

Cool I need to rebiuld the 4cyl in the MJ then maybe it will be The worlds Second Fastest  :D -
:dunno: Not sure(sorry) If you can match up JY parts thats alot cheaper than say something new or from advanced adaptors, but you could look for a site for Advanced Adaptors for parts compatibility Info. As for flywheel if the clutch works and a pilot bearing can fit input shaft of trans then use what came with your engine because its balanced to work with your engine. :dunno:

I was looking for info on solar pannels and wind mill generators and found this in a Green site. I just wonder if the info for $$ is a scam? or can solar pannels be made out of hardware store parts.? http://www.homemadeenergy.org/?hop=safepay123 http://www.makenaturalpower.com/?hop=safepay123

Brent- '88 MJ says, -ALWAYS start with the end in mind; if you don’t know where you’re going, you are already there. -Success is managed frustration. I just thought that seems to have new meaning with the photo. Redramman :jump:

89 Manche runs 30 sec, sputters, then dies

I don't know if it's the same on a Comanche ,but when my Ram had same problem it was a bad crankshaft position sensor.A computer scanner/code reader might hint at problem if engine light is on. On second thought when crank sensor went it would not restart unless you disconected battery to reset computer so that might not be your problem. :dunno: -
Salt truck put a hole in my radiator!!!!!!

One of the liquid leak additives claims to be used by many manurfacturers? Is dammage coverd by rad waranty? probably not.I would solder the leak or have a Radiator shop look at it a new rad should be repairable because metal is not as deteriorated as an old one . -
rear main seal one piece how?

A Firebird used an ice filled cooling air intake system kind of an intercooler concept, claimed it was a big differance. What about a fuel cooler as well? Just more crazy ideas thought I'd run by you. -
On a 2.5 4cyl 2wd how hard is it to replace rear main one peice seal? The Trans is already off, can I just carefully hook the old one out and push a new one in with a piece of wood or seal driver/big socket??? Whats the best tool to remove it?

Have you tried 89 octane gas??
-
Fuel filter? What brand wires did you use,Ive had trouble with off brand wires.Performance wires like MSD or even ACCEL offer a better spark. Also wire separators to keep wires apart can make big differance.I used to have problems in wet weather but no more. I would also try a good fuel injector cleaner that you pour in your tank. Try differant plugs if that does'nt work then spend money on new injectors.

So does this mean the twin under bed Turbos and Supercharger are against the rules??? Anyway I like the Idea of capitalizing on the super low end torque of an I-6 with super overdrive gears! -
:hijack: GaruMJ :wavey:

I'm not saying this is exactly your problem but the T-case post I was thinking of is called "T-Case piled up". Check it out about 10 posts down it shows a picture of a loose chain.

You can even buy dvd's on the topic,I took the easy way and bought my Ram with 4:10's everybody thought I was crazy,I sometimes wish I had 4:56 or even 4:88 . Also when figuring RPM most gear charts asume 1:1 trans ratio, overdrive will lower RPM, an Automatic trans will have more RPM depending on stall speed of torque converter,Just thought I'd FUEL the FIRE :fs1:  :grrrr:  Just Kidding :rotfl2:
