  1. So I can't take the engine from my 86 that I'm parting out and put it in my buddy's s10?
  2. Anyone know if the 2.5 in my 86 is the same as the 2.5 iron duke in the s10s?
  3. If its 4x4 and you need a t-case I have a 94 231 out of a zj
  4. Everything should bolt right up. The only thing I'm not sure about is the crossmember.
  5. "Definitely NOT a Pioneer if it had idiot lights. Only the base model had idiot lights. Pioneers had all gauges except the tachometer standard, and the tachometer was optional." Not true. My pioneer had idiot lights. And I got it from the original owner (my uncle) as far as over heating. Are you sure the system is full? I had to take the upper radiator hose off the T-stat housing and fill though the hose and then top off the expansion tank. Here in Alabama where its been 100+ lately my truck idles about 210 but when I'm driving it cools off. I have a 195 t-stat. Test the t-stat in a pot of boiling water and make sure it actually opens.
  6. I've got the factory lights out of my 86. And I was afraid someone would say wires.
  7. Well after talking with a bunch of people and doing a little research I found out that there are 2 different size throughout bearings. One is about an inch longer than the other. The bigger one is usually used for the v6 (not sure why) but in the days of AMC they probably used both in the v6 and i4. I bought the longer bearing and Hopefully this weekend I can get the throwout bearing changes out and it will work.
  8. Can you add foot well curtousy lights to a truck that doesn't already have them. And I have checked all my fuses, put new bulbs in and my b-pillar lights still don't work. Any ideas?
  9. Okay so now the brakes are done and its running good, now to takle the problem of my curtousy lights. They have new bulbs I'm them, the fuses are all good but the interior lights don't work. I also have been contemplating on putting in the foot well lights. Anyone ever do this and have input or have any ideas on my b-piller light problem?
  10. I'll have to stop there for lunch when I'm going through there and we can meet up
  11. That's the piece. Check eBay or a junk yard
  12. What kind of roll bar do you have? Mine mounts on the front of the wheel wells
  13. Where are you at? I do a lot of traveling between both ends of i65 (Alabama and Indiana)
  14. The beast is now back on the road. Ive been driving this truck almost a year and based on how my brakes are now and the locked up wheel cylinders, I don't think I ever had rear brakes. Oops. Although the truck did sit for 12 years
  15. Auto zone sold me a wheel cylinder that had a plunger installed backwards. All fixed now
  16. Does it have a plasit base on the boot itself or is it just rubber?
  17. Check your fuel pressure at the rail
  18. If its an internal slave the little pin that holds the slave in probably broke off. Had the same thing happen on my 88. I drilled the hole out and tapped it and now its being held in place by a 1/4-20 bolt and I don't think my clutch ever worked so well. The rubber hose was deteriorating which made the brake fluid look like gear lube out if the trans. But because the slave was flopping around on the input shaft it tore up the seals and eventually blew out completely on morning at school
  19. Bosch 4 hole injector, Bosch platinum +4 spark plugs and my gas mileage went from 13 to 18 in town right away. Still need an o2 sensor though
  20. Yxmj. I'm pretty sure that's the hitch I have... Except I have chuncks of metal flaking off. Any idea where that hitch came from?
  21. Anyone make hitches for their mjs? I've been thinking about using my dealer installed hitch on my 88 to make a template, I just don't know how to weld to actually make the hitch
  22. Well jeeps been down a while. Drum brakes have been kicking my @$$. Hopefully tomorrow I can get everything all worked out.
  23. When I put my console in I didn't bother putting the rear brackets in. Console doesn't move so I wasn't concerned about it. But some people put the mounts in
  24. I only have 2 mjs, but we have room for all 6 of the cars we park outside at the very top of my driveway so I could fit 8 or 10 jeeps. Plus 4 in the garage and 4 in the grass along side the driveway where my 63 GMC pick-up is parked
  25. I get about 17.5-18 in town. Haven't checked highway yet. I've got an 88 swb 4.0 5speed 2wd 3.07s and 235/75/15s. when I first got it going I got like 12-14. After working all the bugs out I only expected to get 15 maybe 16 in town. Can't wait to see what I get on the highway
