  1. Damn that truck looks good, Shawn. Puts mine to shame!
  2. Imagine a Fiat Renegade with a bed, that's probably what it would be in todays world. I've heard good things about that spintires game, no idea how accurately it handles, but still looks like a lot of fun.
  3. Yeah, the perches need to be flipped and realigned with the mj leaf spacing, unless your going SOA, than they just need to be spaced correctly. Either way, cutting and welding is required. And while your at it, minaswell cut those huge shock mounts off and weld on some nice low profiles to give you some extra clearance.
  4. I actually sourced a control module already, just need the box. I don't have the luxury of a junkyard anymore, this box is incredibly hard to find, considering they were in almost every xj up to 96...
  5. HA... turd #5
  6. Bitter mine froynd.. haha
  7. Second post explains it.
  8. One last bump before I move onto other sources. Thanks.
  9. I run a Cobra 29 LTD NightHawk with a 102" whip. It's an excellent radio, tried and true design, built in swr (though I'd use an external for calibration), adjustable backlighting for night time, awesome range where I live (it's flat here, I've gotten in excess of 20 miles with the antenna). Here's a video on tuning when you do get up and running: https://youtu.be/0UsOmfVErO8
  10. All said and done, from gears, rebuild kits, trutrac, front carrier, yoke, oil, labor came to about $1500. Not bad considering the gears, kits, carrier and trutrac alone would cost about $1200.
  11. I'm loving the trutrac so far, put it in 4 lo today, first gear. Hit the brakes in a sharp turn with some gas and it locked up the rear. Fully mechanical, also, no clutch packs. A buddy did my gears.
  12. What size tires are you looking to run? The dana 30 will be good for up to 33s or 35s, the dana 35 up to 31s. Not many people invest in a dana 35 because of it's strength. A popular upgrade is a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 (dana 44 strength) or a Ford 8.8. Both require welding perches. Unless you find an MJ Dana 44, you won't have any other axles that will just bolt in. The instrument cluster can be swapped from any pre-97 cherokee or comanche. However, they did a speedo swap in 1991 from a cable to electronic. What year is your truck? If it's pre-91, you'll need a pre-91 instrument cluster. (they are light blue in color). Post 91 clusters were white.
  13. Put 4.56 gears and a trutrac rear in this weekend. I'll get a locker for the front eventually, but for now the rear will work. My 8.25 yoke was shot, I guess after 280,000 miles, this is what happens:
  14. I see, you didn't specify which connector, I just assumed the one closest to the camera. The bottom is for an automatic, if you have a standard, cap it and forget it.
  15. That looks like the connector for the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Very important.
  16. As much as he loved that thing, he wasn't quite as avid of a Jeep guy as I am. He's taking the money and most likely buying a newer Tacoma. Like I said, I'm a bit far to try and track it. It was in the Rock Hill SC/ Charlotte NC area if anyones wanting to check those local yards for it.
  17. His was an 89, but I doubt that would make much difference. It was pretty damn clean, I guess they marked it as "Like New" and a classic.
  18. A few weeks ago a buddy of mine hit head on with another car. Both drivers were taken to the hospital, but are alright. The lady in the car was at fault, but I don't know the details. The insurance company marked the MJ totaled and took it away. I didn't see it personally, but my other Jeep friends said it was very salvageable. I told him to try and get it back as a salvage, but they wouldn't have given him the $8,000.00 for it. I live 400 miles away, so I can't track it and pull parts from it when it hits a JY. It was an immaculate Jeep, a little rust under the belly, but practically perfect. He got it because of me, and it served him well for close to two years. Sad to see it go. I don't have pictures of the wreck itself, but I do of it in its glory: Kinda funny how insurance pays more for the truck than anyone buying it would...
  19. Still looking if anyones got one.
  20. Awesome, no cracks in the plastic or anything? What about the control sliders? Trucks an 88, but I think they were the same through all years and engines. Mind if I get a couple pictures? Thanks
  21. And the slider control module if you've got it. I'm planning on putting A/C in the truck while rewiring, dash has to come out for both, minaswell knock it all out at once. Shipping would be to 27909. Thanks.
  22. I have, yes sir. I've localized the problem to a ground I can't seem to find. I wiggle the harness and smack it a few times and they work for a short while. Are the gauge and signals on the same ground? Noticed my gauges seem a bit off too.
  23. I have actually replaced the fronts recently, and the hazards work fine. Would that cause a separate issue with the turn signals?
  24. Ohh yeah, cruisers tips and I are good friends. The problem just arose last week, haven't touched it since. I've been making exclusive trips back to sc to fix the problems that just pop up out of nowhere, this is the latest, and I NEED it fixed by tomorrow.
  25. I've searched for turn signals that didn't work, but all cases I found were solved by a replaced fuse or flasher relay. This isn't the case for me, I've replaced those, as well as the ignition switch on the steering column, and no turn signals. Hazards work just fine. The timing of this is absolutely terrible, the last 2 months I've been trying to get my MJ and a trailer up to where I live now (6 hour drive) but a cracked fuel tank (replaced today) and NOW turn signals don't work prevent me from doing this. I need the signals for the uHaul inspection. Any ideas?
