  1. where is that ground? - i have that problem too, but it's a separate issue.
  2. .... my gas gauge, brake lights, and tac would all stop working at the exact same time? - maybe washing it wasnt such a good ide after all. these things all stopped working once before and seemed to fix themselves while i was away.lol. i have heard mention of a ground behind a tail-light. the electrical in this truck (my blue one) has never been any good or consistent or easy to figure out and i still have that crappy fuse box. thanx, shawn.
  3. i like it -but those tail lights have to go.
  4. thank you gentlemen , and thank you pat for posting that, -as soon as this rain stops i will go out and find out exactly what i have in both trucks. cw and wildman -i will definitely look into that linkage issue , that would be a great thing if my issue turns out to be a simple fix like that. although i didnt think it would be possible for the tc to just be not-quite-in like that. (like when a tranny slips out of gear, -it has to be manually put back in).
  5. if mine was only that nice!
  6. nice truck for the money. but i'd be embarrassed. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1650051788.html

  8. tomorrow i will probably be on here asking how i can tell what i have in the mj for a tranny, and the xj, for that matter. both are 4.0 btw. '89mj, '95xj. both 5spds.
  9. so the last time up in the mountains I'm hearing like a bang and it feels like i imagine what a chain slipping on a sprocket would feel like. - i can only imagine this to be transfer case issues. today, up a different mountain, the same thing but a bit more often and not consistent with any particular speed or amount of throttle (but definitely only on the steeper parts going up hill). so i think its the transfercase slipping (231) but am open to opinions. (this is in an '89 mj) so my question is, i have a '95 parts cherokee that also has that transfercase. I'm no real mechanic. - much hassel to change-out? anything i should be on the lookout for? ive never done that before but think if its not too big a bite i wouldnt mind trying it. both the truck and donor xj are 5spds btw. thanks.
  10. i think it might have been a good idea to be holding $500. while you were chatting with him, and have a tow-bar with you. (and it should be around closing time).
  11. now if i could only get the rust taken out of that eliminator.

  16. i seem to remember something i saw on here recently about the s-10 bumper being a viable option for getting a nicer rear bumper for old blue. can anyone tell me if this is a good idea, and are there any other trucks i should be looking at for this? --- just looking for a good, inexpensive alternative. thanx.
  17. a very sweet looking little truck. great bumper too.
