  1. No, the "wagon wheels" were the steel 6 or 8-spoke factory rims. The turbine rims in the photos are the 10-spoke alloys that were the optional rim on the 84-89 (or 90?) XJ and 86-89 (90?) MJ. They are 15x7 ... so are the wagon wheels. No, the steel 6 or 8 spoke factory wheels were the Rally's. You are correct in that the factory called the 6- or 8-spoke steelies "Rally" wheels. But nobody actually calls them that. I haven't heard them referred to as anything other than wagon wheels for at least 15 years. I haven't heard people ever call the steelies wagon wheels in the past 16 years. While we are on the top, it's a "shell" not a cap, and not a topper. See, we could go on all day like this. it's a canopy.
  2. were you thinking of painting them entirely black? i was looking at mine today and wondering how to go about that. --- like what about the outside part? i would think that part would take a beating when changing tires.
  3. that would be so cool. all i seem to find are red ones and grey ones.
  4. its on the 86 4x4 ( 2.5, 5spd) and the clutch seems to work fine but when it's first applied, if applied slowly it just goes down and does virtually nothing, but when depressed quikly it works well. also when pumped like pumping a brake pedal it also works very well. fluid is full, no sign of leaking. all suggestions appreciated.
  5. i had this sitting and growing moss in my back yard for the last yr and a half and thought i just didnt have time or interest to do anything with it, so i put it up for sale for $700. - last night i came to my senses and I'm really glad i did. - cleans up nice and runs just as nice. dragged it out and re-installed black interior, removed saggy headliner and am taking it in for re-covering. not much else to tell right now, but its a good start. i actually paid $300. for it, drove it once and then parked it behind the house and let it sit - full of garbage from the PO. all seems well except the vacuum disco may not be working right and i still need to put in the pass side window. -------oh , and the clutch pedal likes to be pumped-up. I'm hoping to look into those issues tomorrow. i think this is the least rusty comanche i've ever seen in person. lol.
  6. thats a bit of a coincedence. i just took those very same rims off my '86 today. ya, turbines. they look like the best stock rims for my truck but i had some other ones with slighly taller tires that i wanted to try out. will probably re-install them when i get some different rubber.
  7. thats a nice little truck, -I'm totally drooling, but the rareness would make me kinda paranoid. still though, i really like it. on a side note ---- that other mj in ur pic has got a good look too -especially with those wheels that i covet so much ( i think theyre called "gamblers".
  8. that was some fantasticall fast service. got 'em today! thanks Pete, will put them to good use.
  9. not as many as i'd like.
  10. This has been very good news to wake up to! thank you Spencer. can't wait to see them on a truck and i will definitely be ordering at least one set.
  11. this thread might apply to me too. today i was gonna post that about once a month, when I'm driving the '91, it will give a sudden hiccup, like all of a sudden for one second, the is no power at all coming from the motor, then its instantly fine again and a month will go by and it will do it once more. this month it has done it twice. --------- same thing? cps ??
  12. thanks pete. love having them to give out. my addy is still the same.

  14. i usually card every 'manch i see (if it's at all feasable) and today i put my last card on a windshield.
  15. if thats the case, wouldnt adding an XJ main with the eyes removed work too?
  16. that makes perfect sense. -thank you corry.
  17. thank you sir. it never occured to me that it would be anything other than the 231. -an aquaintance has a yj for sale and it has the same motor and hes listed it as having a 231 as well, but he seems to know his stuff a lot more than me so maybe his is what it says.
  18. i just assumed that it was gonna be a 231 , and since its for sale , someone asked me if the 231 had been swapped in. -i havnt relied to them yet though.

  21. yes, that seems to be the case. thank you Pete for the clarification.
  22. what does that little yellow sqare shaped thing mean int the little bell shaped thingy that says new posts on the main board? when i hover the mouse over it it still just says "new posts" just like the ones that don't have the square shaped thing.
  23. has anyone in the reno area looked at this truck in person??? I'm wondering what the shipping costs would be like. I'm totally drooling but my passport app isnt completed yet so options are limited.
