  1. Detroit true-trac :smart:
  2. Yup, even stock the 29 spline 8.25 has nearly as strong axle shafts at the Dana 44, and it has thicker tubes which decrease the likelihood of flexing and snapping the axle shaft(like what happens on the Dana 35)
  3. Front JK Dana 44 narrowed to XJ width with 5x4.5 bolt pattern(with the factory 4.10s and E locker) Rear ford 8.8 w 4.10s and discs I'm considering changing my mind on the 8.8 because there are starting to be cheaper JK rear 44's out there, and if I could snag one with 4.10s that was complete(either a rubi which has the E locker) or add a locker to the non rubi 44, it would make a decent axle.
  4. I would have posted more but the stupid image size checker freaks out when you try and post more than 10 photos or sometimes doesn't like to determine the size of random photos, its quite aggravating.
  5. thesamba.com is a great VW site, but its gearing a little more towards older VWs, you might find better help on the vortex forums for something so new
  6. It also makes me LOL that 97 TJs have the old style AC controls too!
  7. I agree, that pisses me off to no end. The Kj controls have an AC button, but on defrost and floor settings the compressor gets turned on automatically, luckily we figured out how to bypass it so that ONLY the AC button turns on the AC. This means when its -15F out and your feet are freezing that the AC compressor won't be running anymore.
  8. What do they look like? Brandon Best I could find:
  9. If you wanna see more pictures they are on my webpage here: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/Jeep2500.html Yes, 96- Hvac Yes single DIN mirrors fold, and some are chrome with integrated turn signals. No Dana 44 thats a 2WD axle or D30. That 2WD also has a transfer case skid and tow hooks! HA! They also use the older style gas tank instead of the plastic one like the 97+ uses. The 2.5 that we know and sorta love was used in the first few years in china, but then was dropped in favor of a mitsubishi engine and a chinese made engine: They use the older 94- style of seats, and the 96- style of door latches and doors(while updating to the single solid front window: Some of the models have brushed AL looking interior trim, which I think looks classy: They use a 5x5 8.25 rear end with disk brakes, that has a wierd looking hub that has led some to speculate that they are semi or full float rears: The Jeep 2500 is such a weird combination of old new and other parts that I see something new every time I look at those pictures, and many things are the type of thing only the trained eye can pick up on.
  10. I would post more, but the stupid image size checker is pissing me off too much.
  11. It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. I hate that stupid image size checker, it can't read all sorts of images, half the time it just makes my post disappear, seriously the most bit of software ever. http://colorado4wheel.com/images/misc/J ... 500_77.jpg

  13. Here's a pic:
  14. Personally I would only ever install 5.9 hood vents.
  15. Are you joking? The man is doing a v-8 swap, and wants a stronger axle. They also take the same amount of work as a 44. If you are going to do the swap... why go for the far weaker axle? :thwak: Then by that logic why stop at a 60? Go rockwells. He hasn't said what he wants to build out of it, and running a 60 front and 14BFF rear would be pretty dumb if he is gonna run 32's. So forgive me for offering an alternative and asking the guy if his eyes are hungrier than his mouth. :thwak:
  16. Bull sheet! It's a free gawddamm country and I will say whatever I want to and speak whatever I want to. It'll be a cold day in hell that I let someone pass a law limiting my First Amendment Rights.
  17. I think we all do after about 8-12 beers.
  18. Divide those last two numbers and you get your ratio:(as shown from my Dana 44 front): Also notice the E-locker on the carrier
