So this FINALLY showed up yesterday, went to the store to get some groceries at like 2pm, saw Danny the tow driver about a mile away from my house and I went "Hmmm, I wonder if there is gonna be a Jeep sitting in my driveway. I didn't get a call and they know they are supposed to call before dropping it off so I know its coming" Sure enough(and luckily) there it was sitting there in my driveway. Now I can finally get started on it! Looks like it was a really nice jeep before whoever owned it last got it. It's got an aftermarket sunroof(which works thank gawd), has some sort of alarm(which I guess I just need to rip out since I have no remote or anything to go with it and I managed to lock myself out once already when trying to get power to it. No battery at all, which is only slightly worse than having one that needs to be replaced. Tires are like almost new, that fuggin rocks, in the pictures the lighting made me think they might be down to something like 40% tread, but they are actually really new, wheels are also in really good shape, no need to repaint those. It's got a K&N intake, a TB spacer, hood spacers(to clear the K&N and TB spacer. Unfortuneatly its got a cosmetic crinkle down by the airbox, with a stock airbox I don't think you would ever see it, but with this K&N is clear as day......so I might grab a stock airbox just so thats less obvious. Otherwise the enterior is fuggin gross, yet another smokers car, ashes everywhere and but only a few cig burns. Gonna need a helluva cleaning, but it should come mostly clean. It looks like someone locked themselves out at once point, and used something like a tire iron to pry the drivers door open to slip in a coathanger........so theres a bunch of ugly marks around the drivers door that I won't really be able to do anything about. Dumbass! When its something the driver sees all the time it will kinda bug you, but if they had done it on the passenger side you wouldn't really see it much, meaning it won't bother you much.

Ya man, I feel ya. I went and looked through my credit history just a few days ago to see if there was anything I needed to dispute, nothing. 5+ years of house payments, credit cards, student loans, all on time. Credit score still a "C". I'm thinking about trying to get another credit card(and not using it, just keeping it sitting around for emergency, or even just cutting it up). A card with no annual fee that I don't use only means I have more credit, the higher your credit/debt ratio the better your perceived credit. So someone with 10k in credit card debt out of a total of 20k has a better credit/debt ratio than someone with $1000 in debt out of $1500. My parents credit is currently shot to hell because they just moved, apartment complex, utilities, etc etc all pulled a credit report, the more reports they pull the lower your score.

Priceless! -
Thanks for the comment. The change to the MOABs was I had an offset issue with the icons and mt/rs sidewall lugs rubbing the lca's. The change eliminated this issue. I had the same problem on my silverstars, WJ LCA's solved that problem.
-
I think the icons looked better than the moabs, but to each their own.
-
well chit man, now that I know that I'm probably going to stop finding them.
-
Seriously? $#!&, I don't know how many of those I have passed up because they look like a ladys shark week interior.

DING DING DING DING!!!! We have a winner! I'll buy you a beer. I swear, those 2 door electric panels are near impossible to find. After hunting for a year, I found mine on eBay. Pure luck as it had just been listed. Ya I've been looking for a long time too, figure its pretty low on my priority list for getting things done.........so much other stuff that needs to be done first, its pretty much at the bottom. Regardless, if I find one at a junkyard I'm gonna grab it.

Project CRD MJ is born:

New tab added for 97+ dash: Welded: Now I need to drill some holes for the threaded tabs: It bolts in where it should now! Passenger side pivot bolt welded in: This is the tranny tunnel bracket, I will need to add threaded mount for it. I'm not sure if I will add a nut to the backside the time time I have the tranny out, or If I should do it via the topside right now. Leaning towards doing it topside now so I can move on from the dash to other things. Need to drill one new hole to accommodate the newer 97+ airbox, otherwise the 97+ airbox is done! Next up is the trans tunnel support and then the 97+ seat brackets. -
its gonna be cake with a picture of your MJ on it.

The heat exchanger is still there, I just removed the cartridge style oil filter, instead it now uses a spin on TJ filter. Which means in the future I may go with a remote filter setup that would work for a TJ, but for now that will work. Got the steering column bracket in place, modded it to accept one of the existing studs and then welded one from the donor vehicle in place on the side. Then I got the lower pivot hole welded in, cut off the factory nut from the donor then drilled a hole and welded the plate in. Still need to do the passenger side. As you can see here two of the upper dash bolt holes don't line up, I think I'm going to weld a tab to the existing smaller lip and then drill a hole and move the threaded clip in place, then just use a large washer on the small bolt, this needs to be done on both sides. -
:ack:

You can do lots of modding on TDI's, but its still gonna be kinda a dog. I know the auction you are talking about, I even talking to the guy on the phone for awhile, I wanted to buy it but the auction got pulled because he put "NOT CUMMINS" in the title. After the auction was pulled he asked me if I wanted to buy it for $800, told him no thanks. That was a 2.5 CRD, used, from a burned vehicle, I wanted it because it was lots of potential spare parts for my 2.5 CRD, but nothing on the engine was useful for the american 2.8 CRD.

You need to rethink that HP requirement, 250hp and 300ft-lb of torque aint gonna happen. 150hp and 300 ft-lb is more likely. A TDI mated to an AX15/nv3550 would be a decent swap, and you can get an mTDI setup for maybe 3k. Of course there is the 2.8 crd, which is just about perfect on all criteria, but is a pretty complicated install.

still writing 2010 on stuff

They sell them on a few sites, for like 6$ each pdf I know, whenever I find them for free I host them on my website.
-
that its not done.
-
After working with LOTS of certifit fenders I have to say the fit is really not bad at all - BUT you have to take the time to dial the fitment in, especially around the A pillar windshield corner.
-
What models does it cover? I wish I had a pdf of that.
-
I wouldn't give $3000 for it, not being 2wd.
