  3. It does not.
  4. My CRD KJ gets 25 mpg at 80 mph........
  5. It could be that they just built all the diesels, even the XJs, like they were meant for export markets, even if they were sold in the US. Like, they have a bunch of diesel dashes ready to go in, and the only way they built the diesel dash was with the 24 hour clock.
  6. Highway 550. Ouray to Durango. Do it if you can, beautiful area and not to be missed.
  7. Found a NOS stash of MJ AMC 20 rear ends that have been sitting in a pile outback of some guys shed in surrey. Not sure what customs is going to say when I come back with 3 rear ends squatting down the back of the XJ. Says he also has a passenger bedside(not sure if long or short, and a pair of bumpers(fingers crossed they are rear). Apparently these were in shop/building that caught fire(in about 88), everything was written off but these survived so one of the techs kept them and they have been sitting around since.
  8. Seen a nice MJ parked across from me. If you see a solar yellow 2000 xj freedom wave at me.
  9. Do you have to cut the body for these to work?
  10. Seems like. I just feel like if I had been there with my camera there would be about 350 pictures already up online in an album for you all to look at.
  11. Neither does "pee time"
  12. Why would you take the interior out?
  13. We had some clouds but I did manage to snap a few quick photos behind a welding helmet before the sun went down behind the mountains.
  14. 01 was the last year for the 2 door........not even made in china......
  15. I was thinking perhaps a fresh install of phpbb and then use the backed up database. I could make an additional forum install on my server and then try to load it with a backup of our current database.........but for all i know thats what you did and it didn't work.
  16. Only 90 pictures? what a tease!

    death of the xj

I've got a 2005 Liberty CRD here and a 2000 Cherokee 4L here. I love the diesel engine in the liberty, it gets great mileage and runs circles around the 4L. The liberty is more modern feeling, quieter, and rides smoother. I still prefer the XJ.......I just need to get that diesel engine into the XJ to be really happy. Need to get that MJ done first......
  18. I do that all the time when I get in a sauna.
  19. My absolute humidity is a nice constant 20%.
  20. My fridge is more moist than my house.
  21. I did the same when I replaced mine. I'm not sure when the year was that Chrysler started doing the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) stuff to the 4.0L, but those are the only year XJ's that I want to own anymore. Going from my 88 Renix 4.0L to my 01XJ 4.0L is like night and day. One feels like a tank and the other feels, well, normal. oh man, the newer XJs are just so much more refined in many ways, the 97+ ac blows better, the 96+ engine bay isn't a cluster @#$% of wiring and vacuum hoses, the serpentine belt adjuster actually makes sense, is simple, and works great. And I love the distributor less ignition of the 00+
  22. Because on the old XJs and MJs that 20-minute job takes maybe 20 seconds. That's why. Replaced it today, timed it from start to end. 5 screws, and 134 seconds later it was all back together. I don't know why it was so hard for you.
  23. funny you mention this, I need to replace the flasher unit on my XJ. Gonna grab one from a junkyard tomorrow to toss it in. Last time I did it I just removed the kick panel, reached up and pulled it down, put in the new one. Took like 20 minutes. I just don't see why your bitching so much about such a simple thing to do that maybe needs to be done once out of every 200 years. (adding up the collective age of all the cherokees I've had and how many times I have had to do it)
  24. From what I have heard it keeps fine as long as you close up the lid with a plastic bag in place. I would say get the gallon depending on price......might make more sense to get a couple of quarts depending directly on the price. Actually come to think about it......depending on the price savings might you be interested in picking me up some and shipping it my way? Hmmmmm, any interest in getting some sound deadening material.....I have quite a bit of the quiet car spray/roll on stuff if you want to trade a bit......
