  1. I have already looked in the manual but it does not give the size, just says "pin, hinge". :wall:

  3. Does anyone know the size of the hinge pins on an 88 manche? The top hinge on mine has alot of play in it, and am thinking about replacing it. Also are there bushings that I would need to get?

  5. Are there drain holes in the rear slider? I was looking at mine noticed slots on the under side of the track on the outside. Are these for drainage of the track? :dunno:
  6. You will have to drop the fuel tank(best if as close to empty as possible), the emergency brake bracket, and the tail light harness has to be disconnected. There were 8 bolts/studs on the long wheel base I did not sure if the same for a short wheel base. I think that is everything but take your time and double check before you pick the bed off. The bolt/ stud nuts can be very rusted so you will want to get some PB up into them as much as possible, I found it easier to use a deep well socket and breaker bar to break them loose then put a rachet on them, if you don't have access to an impact gun. When you do go to lift it get it loose and then check to be sure you have everything disconnected. Hope this helps.
  7. Not 100% but the seats will fit you just have to take the mounting brackets off of your bench and change them over. That's what I had to do in my 88. May lose the ability to adjust the passenger seat.
  8. Another area that is often overlooked is the floor plugs. Water can be driven into them if the seal around them is bad. Know from experience.
  9. Don't have 33" tires in there, but my 235's fit with plenty of room to spare.
  10. Does anyone know of a good way to seal around the fuse box(firewall penetration)? Is there a gasket or would permatex be better. Last time it rained hard out found water coming in around it. Wasn't driving so i figure it's coming in through worn hood seal or getting in from cowl drain being stopped up, am going to try to fix both but I know water shouldn't come through the firewall regardless. The reason i checked is the nasty wet carpet syndrome.
  11. Even if you are a mech. kepping track of materials in this way is a good idea I think. Especially with all the little nuts and bolts you can come across and really may need later. Better to have and not need than need and not have. :dunno:
  12. Mine fit also, I also had to trim the front a little to fit around the heater box under the dash. I do think the design was changed in the mid 90's and not sure they will fit.
  13. What's wrong with the color it is now? makes it unique.
  14. I believe I have seen a set of mounting brackets that have both the tow hook mounts and the bumper attachment. They look similar to the pictured by eagle buy with bumper mounting points also. :hmm: Unfortunately I don't remember where right now. If I see them again I will post the location.
  15. I'm running 235's on a 2wd with no problems. As for winter driving i just shovel snow from my driveway into the bed, don't have to empty later it takes care of that itself when it warms then there is no need for it anyway.
  16. I know this is going to be a silly question but: A SHOCK ON THE MOTOR, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? :huh???:
  17. Remember the most important tools, lots of elbow grease and a whole lot more patience.
  18. I have to agree that it must be a Jeep thing. I love mine, :drool:I think the main reason is the uniqueness of a Jeep pick up. And unlike trucks of today it doesn't look like everyone else's
  19. Been there Done That, You just have to be very, very, VERY careful of the tabs that hold them in place.
  20. THANKS, GREAT BOOK TO HAVE ACCESS TO !! :clapping:
  21. I keep a spare key in my wallet, usually have it on me when I'm out of the truck.
  22. Did the ax-5 have an external slave cylinder? Just removed the tranny from the 86 I have and the slave was external. It is connected to a np- 207 transfer if that helps. :wall:
  23. I have to agree that dropping the tank is the way to go. I have done it both ways on mine and regretted not dropping the tank the first time. Just an FYI if you buy the whole assembly from AUTO ZONE IT DOES NOT FIT THE 23 GALLON TANK ON THE LONG WHEEL BASE MODEL MJ, ALTHOUGH THEY SAY IT DOES!!
  24. GREAT TO SEE ANOTHER PENS FAN ON HERE
